When you really think about it. Yeah, a lot of us who were fan were hurt when we heard the news. But besides Chester's wife and kids, Mike probably had one of the hardest times. It's rough losing a friend.
Me either, I was literally so shocked and sad. Him and Layne Staley deaths I will NEVER get over, nor stop grieving. It doesn't matter if you knew them personally, it still hurts because you grow with them. Not only that you connect with them through the music they wrote and sang. You could tell by their lyrics what they struggled with, which helps you when you suffer from the same thing. There is NOOOBBOODYYY else In this HHHUUUGGGEEE world that sounds like either of them. The best part is, they didn’t try to replace him, because they couldn’t. That’s a good band. They want the best for their friend instead of the band. It’s truly moving how much of an impact one man can make… R.I.P. Chester 💜
We can't tell for sure though. Nothing prevents them from coming back either with Mike Shinoda on vocals or a new singer. Now I believe that if they do come back with a new singer, he will obviously know he can't and won't replace Chester and will likely try to do his own thing. We'll just have to see I guess.

This may just be my theory, but I think Chester’s voice and Mike’s lyrics were able to help so many people put into words the chaos that so many of us have in our minds. For me it was as if someone FINALLY captured the raw emotions of being a confused and lost teenager or even just someone who struggles with depression into tangible words and that somehow made the pain easier.
Hearing what sounds like pretty much the entire audience singing Chester Bennington’s part of this song brought me to tears. What an absolute Legend you were Chester Bennington!!!!

I only knew Numb until a few months ago and discovered Linkin Park. I've been listening to them on repeat. I can't listen to this without Chester. I can't imagine how hard it is for those of you who were there from the beginning
It is very surreal. I haven't listened to Linkin Park all that much for the past 10 years or so, but they were the first band I ever REALLY liked and they are a very defining element of my childhood, I would often go weeks at a time listening to nothing but their songs. The idea that the person I listen to when I go back to their songs is no longer around still doesn't feel right to me and I don't think it ever will, even now 4 years later. It shouldn't feel that way, since we're all mortal, but it does. I think this is an example of how easily our minds can cause us to view certain people a certain way when we don't personally know them. In my head, I could never picture someone like him dying because I guess I never saw him as mortal, because him and his band came to my life at a very important moment in my life and remained there for many many years and I saw them existing forever. It's just a very strange feeling.
@@BIadelores the way he died must be a bitter pill to swallow. The difference with Chester and some other artists for me is the unfiltered emotion he put into every song. The messenger is a beautiful song but it's the raw emotion in the singing that really hits me. So many people say that he saved their life with his music and I believe them. Nobody could save him from himself though and that's hard to take in.
His words healed so many of us. It is so sad that they couldn't do the same for him. He put up a hell of a fight. He went year's living with those thought's in his head. And i am proud that he pushed through as long as he did. He made it as far as he could and i am thankful the world was blessed with just the little bit of time we had with him. I wish there was some magic cure for people like us. Medications don't always help when you have more than a few mental illnesses they only help certain symptoms and that isn't always enough. I hope everyone takes comfort in knowing he finally is a peace and his mind is now at ease. Rest easy, Chester ❤
This is my first time watching anything LP since Chester passed. Still very emotional to me due to the big impact they had on me since 6th grade. I’m 33 now and still love the music. There will never be another voice to match Chester’s. Rest In Peace brother!
