One of the most fun and skill intensive formats. Hope this format sees more play in the future because it's ceiling is huge.

Magnificent, the Mythic Ruler was a really nice deck between the Hieratic Ruler from early 2014 and the LS Ruler in the H.A.T. format!

This is the best Yu-Gi-Oh format ever in my opinion. It has a small community, but I think it will be huge in a couple years, so I'm grabbing all the main decks from this format before they get expensive.
Personally prefer running reckless greed in this deck over consonance. I think it's a bit more consistent. +Slimming down the monster line-up.

Old school formats are more popular on dueling book unfortunately I wish they were supported more

dragon rulers really got me through all emotions. first i hated them because i was a rogue main ( inzektor preferably, a friend and me just loved innovating the deck, it was us who came up with insect imitation and all the crazy boards like shock lock that got attention ) at that time and it was just almost impossible to compete with drulers and ofc spellbook at full power. after a while i realized tho how fun druler / spellbook mirrors could be. after several hits when players didnt really consider them the strongest anymore i really picked them up tho and had a blast playing them. then soul charge got released and everyone crawled back to it lol. if i remember correct soul charge got hit first before drulers were banned, anyway i remember my last build being a lightsworn druler which was just brutal, however with the arrival of dark matter dragon and ultimately drulers getting banned the length of my fun with that deck was short.. i think it was somewhere around when they released michael, lightsworn X a level 7 synchro which i wouldve loved to play because of having my name.. i heard drulers are unbanned again / get new support, atleast some xyz, but yea i doubt they will do much at all, the game just evolved way to much.

for more kuribandit love, a fun one would be Billy's BA Shaddoll monster mash deck from YCS Dallas - can take a while to ramp up, but it's one of my favorite decks to pilot when playing that format! Might need to get proper BA and Shaddoll profiles out first, though

i invented this deck type when everyone thought it was dead and top 8’d ycs vegas with it before soul charge was legal - my deck included some spare commons i found in bulk like influence dragon and dragoncarnation and even without all the soul charge stuff it was good enough to beat the decks at the time. summon ruler, set drain uhh PASS thanks for profiling this deck type joe !

While the skill drain version was better, I preferred the version that main decked Vanitys Emptiness and you'd make spark Dragon + vanitys. Won a lot of games like that.

Thanks for the uploads Joe! This format seems like a lot of fun to return to, although I've never been to a locals that runs it. Regarding the main deck Skill Drain, I remember that being what took Patrick Hoban out in a finals match because he refused to run MST in his Lightsworn deck. I can sort of see the logic there when Soul Charge is sort of like MST when you have Lylas in the main and cards like Alucard in the extra, but I think you did a good job explaining why the matchup with the Mythic Rulers deck was particularly brutal for Lightsworn.
This deck has a nice balance of aggressive and controlling elements. With the Rulers slowly being released from the banlist, I wonder if we'll ever see a deck similar to this again, or if they will only be used as extenders in full-on combo strategies from now on.

I know that Tahmid Zaman at 2014 Nats ran 2 Card Trooper and 1 Bandit.

Yeah the trade off is do you want more debris targets + instant milling regardless of veiler, or do you want to mill further and find soul charge more but have to wait and be more vulnerable to interaction on your kuribandit

Historically, KAT was a relevant deck, but it seemed to fall out of popularity after nationals. Players experimented with Cardcar D during the month before Duelist Alliance was released, and now CAT is one of the more popular versions of the (F/H/K)AT as the format is played now

Baby rulers were one of the most frustrating bullshit villain decks to ever come out. Mythic rulers tho were a super swag hero deck
