      Anant Raman then why did he leave? I know he said that he left because it was taking a toll on him physically but if you watch videos of them with him, you can see that they do not treat him right. I wouldn’t necessarily call it bullying though. He left for Many different reasons but he certainly wasn’t treated fairly.

    Cliff could never be replaced. If you know the beginnings of metallica you know that Lars and James didnt just love Cliff they looked up to him. He was what they wanted to be. The first three Metallica albums were the best because they were a band. Nobody told Cliff what he could or couldnt do. They were all equals. Jason never had that and was basically a puppet to James and Lars. Jason was like the fan whose wildest dream came true and thats why they never gave him the respect not to mention he was replacing one of the four horsemen who cant be replaced. The ironic thing that most people dont know is that Jason is actually the oldest of the four. He spent years playing in Phoenix with Flotsam and Jetsam and was a damn good bass player. The thing Jason brought to Metallica was his true love for the music and his love of Metallica. The fans knew he was one of them and he treated us like we were family. He gave everything he had when he played live and just couldnt deal with the fact that James and Lars didnt trust him to be a part of the creative process. It was the biggest mistake they ever made. Rob was a no brainer because he grew up in the 80s california metal and punk scene with Suicidal and side projects like Infectious grooves (basically Suicidal playing more bass driven funk style metal/ punk) They knew Rob from before they became famous and I think that gave him more credibility with the three horsemen. I was lucky enough to see them with all 3 at different stages of the bands career. I respect Rob and he is the right fit for Metallica. I love Jason and he will always be a part of Metallica to me but Cliff was and always will be the fourth horseman. Cliff was just a total bad ass and amazing bass player. He was one of a kind. If you never saw Metallica live with Cliff then youve never truly seen Metallica. Sorry but thats just the damn truth.

    • @ckhound1
      @ckhound1 Před 4 lety +7

      I love Cliff, but for me, Metallica with Jason is peak Metallica. Of course if Cliff was around that would be amazing. But Jasons run was the best run of any Metallica in my opinion. And Justice is the best. But the Black Album is just crazy good, along with Load/ReLoad.

    • @richardpowell4643
      @richardpowell4643 Před 4 lety

      Macrov I agree with your thoughts about Jason. He was great in Metallica and was by far the fan favorite. He lived the dream of all of us and at the same time put up with the bullshit of being a scapegoat for Cliffs passing and the fact that the band didn't truly get to mourn Cliff because the show had to go on. All I can say is I wish every Metallica fan could have got the chance to see em when it was the Four Horsemen. Cliff was the most talented of all of them and was a leader by his actions and few words. The Master of Puppets tour was incredible and transformed rock and metal. Jason deserves all the respect in the world and for all his work and talent not just with Metallica Rob does too. Keep the faith and with the four horsemen ride or choose your fate and die!!!!!!

Got to meet him back in 96 and he was the only one who came out to greet fans and he talked to everyone of us and treated us like we were long lost friends. The other guys were too cool to come out. The songs on St. Anger are great. I just wish it could have been produced better. That’s all.

    Metallica circa 1989 bottle of beer in one hand, fuck is every other word, an element of mystique about them. Kings of the world. No one needed to see how fragile Hetfield's mental state is, since rehab now up on stage going into 10 minute monologues about family and love...... I'll pass thanks. If I praise super cars, the posters gonna be from an elevated angle showing the gleam of the paint on those perfect curves. I don't want an undershot of it up on jacks revealing the dirty bodywork and leaky breaks. as a fan, that isn't a requirement.
