I dont understand why so many hate this album, I think its amazing. Especially The Unforgiven 3
It's a great album, the problem lies in the non-dynamic, brickwalled mess of a mastering. Look up the dozens of remasters laying around online and you'll be fine.
It's deffinitely far better than Hardwired that's for shure;)
The mastering and final mix was horrible.
TOTALLY, THERE SHOULD BE MORE HATE FOR "ST. ANGER"!!!!!!!!!!
The mix. They ought to just skip the remasters of the 90s albums and remaster/remix this one

It's not that the songs are bad. The mixing is really bad. They shouldn't have let go of Bob Rock. :/

For the longest time Master was my favorite album...I've have this album since it came out and about 2 weeks ago this became my favorite album...James is absolutely untouchable with riffs...there is one guy in his league and thats Dimebag, noone else even comes close

i love all of metallica's old stuff, but death magnetic has got to be up their in my most favourite albums.
I wish more bands would make videos of the creative process of their albums. I mean when I saw Some Kind of Monster..it is amazing how you get sooooo much more connected with the band and songs. Just like any good relationship...all about communication lol!

I wish Metallica (and other bands) would do more things like this or better yet full docs like Some Kind Of Monster. It's one thing to buy the lp, cd, and cassette (lol) and go to the concerts like I do...but to watch the creative process of the music just takes you sooooo much closer to the music and artist. A much, much deeper connection that you just can't get from listening to the album over and over again! I wish they had a full Death Magnetic Doc. ..or do they and I don't know about it

It's a Japanese copy he bought in the 80's.
He retired it after the neck broke and it couldn't hold a tune anymore.
But he used it on this album, but ESP made a exact copy for him too.
