    I am a solo female rider and 67 years old. I did have a 2009 Aspen Ambassador that I only used once. It was nice because of all the room but was just too difficult for me. The Ambassador is perfect for 2. I just purchased a MiniMate and I think it will be just right for me. This will definitely be an improvement over my one person tent😅😅

    Great video guys ! I really the Aspen as I think the TimeOut has several pieces to move around to get it setup. I ended up buying the Lees-Ure lite because the manufacturer’s plant is 90 minutes away plus takes 2 minutes to get it setup. Well done. Cheers, Eddie

    • @BootsandJeansRiders
      @BootsandJeansRiders  Před rokem +2

      Hey Eddie...we saw the Lees ure lite at a wingding in 2017, but weren't ready to purchase a camper yet. It was super fast and easy to set up, but out of our price range. I'm sure we could have found a nice used one. Great choice. 90 minutes away...yeah we would have jumped on that for sure.

  • @OldGuyonaBike
    @OldGuyonaBike Před rokem +1

    Your deal breakers are exactly the same ones I had when I was looking at the TimeOut. As mostly a solo camper, I narrowed it down to wanting and eventually finding my Mini Mate. A used Aspen or Bunkhouse were high on my list too. Any of them up your campng experience by 500%. Good video.

    • @BootsandJeansRiders
      @BootsandJeansRiders  Před rokem +1

      Yeah if I (Rich) Were a solo camper I would go with the Mini Mate also. It's lite and east to set up. You are correct...our camping experience is up'd by 500%. Would never go back to a tent and sleeping on the ground.

    Excellent review, and motorcycle popup campers are definitely gamechangers for having wonderful motocamping experiences. When I first started looking, Time Out campers were at the top of my list, in the end the weight of their campers was my biggest concern. I really tried to find a used Bushtec bunkhouse or a used Aspen camper but they're almost impossible to find these days, when one shows up online they sell very quickly. It's a shame Aspen and Bushtec no longer make their campers, they certainly have some nice advantages. Great job on this review, and happy travels to you, take care !!

      @@BootsandJeansRiders that will be great! My indecision is due to not knowing if my wife will use it with me. If she doesn’t want to camp like that, I’ll continue to tent camp when solo, and use lodging when she’s with me. Showing her a video of your packing abs set up will go a C long way to figuring out if she’s willing or not!!

    Rich & Kate, thanks for posting such informative information about all aspects of motorcycle travel. I'm always picking up something new after watching, I'm so appreciative of all the work the two of you put in. Several of my buddies that ride wings have installed heel toe shifters on their bikes. What are yours on adding heel toe shifters on Goldwings? I'm still using the standard shifter on my Wing mainly because I think it offer the best of both worlds. Just curious about your thoughts. Of course there's no right or wrong answers, only personal preferences. Thanks in advance

    • @BootsandJeansRiders
      @BootsandJeansRiders  Před 2 lety +1

      Hey Jon thanks for the kind words, we really appreciate it.
      As for the heel toe shifters...We thought about it but changed our minds. So we ordered Gold Strike mini floorboards from Wingstuff, and rode 500 mile just to pick them up, (video coming soon). We think they are more comfortable than the pegs, but the heel toe floorboards may be even more comfy. Most riders we know with heel toe shifters really like them. They are just not our preference.
