Love the series on the shop build

This has been a great series on the shop, you should be really proud of what you've accomplished. Well done Matt!
I agree 100%😀
A superb achievement Matt. Bravo!
@@thinkcasting3182 man no one care about that crap
I agree with Andrew it’s fabulous. Andy from Australia
That spray foam holds moisture and will cause the metal to rust and the foam to pull away and it'll just keep getting worse until it starts leaking.
It is only my opinion but if you had an air space between the roof and ceiling then you could have placed an Attic Fan for SUMMER air evacuation. The shop looks like a dream.
Nice foam! Don't worry about the acoustics. I think once you start stacking stuff inside it will cut down the echo. A wireless mic also helps. Fun video Matt 👍😁
You may want to fill in the vertical gaps where the outside tin meets the j channel on your overhang. If they are left open you'll end up with one big giant bee hive.
two years from now, let's have contest counting the mud dawber nests! 🤣
So you're saying that would BEE a good idea?
@@IGDZILLA Yep, a friend of mine sided his house , gambrel roof (barn style), with the delta-rib metal. He has invested in the contoured foam sealing strips at all the edges after experiencing yellow-jacket wasps nesting in the walls and ceiling. They eventually chewed through the drywall and started coming through the small holes they created. Behind the ingress holes were huge colonies of those wasps. Nasty lesson learned.

The shop series has ruled! It makes me happy to see people make their dreams a reality! I always say "Dimming some one else's light doesn't make your light brighter" so when someone is letting the light shine, I am all into it !
The shop looks amazing ! Can’t wait to see everything once you get it furnished with tools and start wrenching!
You and me both!
That's not happening - There will be four more series of projects related to the shop in order to get the shop exactly how he... Of wait what if he did?............. OK, so then there is another series to get the shop the way he wants it... (Just teasing) I love his project ADD it means we get all kinds of projects going on for our entertainment.
You looking at that insulation equipment is how I walk around the factory I work in. I don't know what any of it does, but it sure is cool.
“I know it doesn’t look like a big job, but yeah, that sucked” is something I think every man here can relate to! Loving this series Matt, probably one of my favs. Keep up the good work from the other side of the pond 👍
Oh yes, that sucked.
Take your time and price estimate and double or triple it. Lol
can not wait to see the overhead crane installed. insulation and lighting top notch.
A crane would be lovely
Really what I’ve been waiting for on this shop.
I was wondering about this, that truss system looks really minimal. Would there not be issues supporting not only the load of the crane but the load on the crane. Not to mention the inertia generated by the crane going back and forth on the structure.
@@JohnNorton86 : Exactly -- that's why the crane is going to have its own supports rather than being tied into the building. Matt mentioned that when he was building the foundation -- there are separate footers in the foundation for the pillars that hold up the crane.
@@JohnNorton86 in another video he poured huge footers inside the wall under the floor. They are to support steel beams I imagine to hold up the heavy crane.
it's nice to see you get done with the shop, just goes to show God does answere prayer's he has truely blessed you
Your Equal Height Helper is found in your pile of lumber! All he needs is a box as tall as the difference between you and him. Still thinking while I enjoy your time lapse. So imagine doing this work all alone, hehehe!
Matt, waaaaaay back in '76/'77 I worked for a company called C.A.Lang located in Millvalle, PA, just up the a few miles from Pittsburgh, PA. While working for them I was credited with insulating 15 oil storage tanks and several dry docks Watching these boys spray brings back lot's of memories!
Besides Spray Foam I also did a sh*t load of pour foam for a company called NONAC also out of Pittsburgh. We filled the wing tanks and false bottoms & forward and aft bulkheads on 10 hopper barges & 2 dry docks
I know the outside ceiling was a pain in the ass but you'll be so glad you did it! No roosting birds crapping on your stuff overnight!
The spray foam is awesome and your echo will go away once you you move stuff in and get some sponsor banners up on the wall, remember the empty can rattles the most.
So keep you beef can full. Haaa
There are allot of good times and memories to be made with this shop. Matt let’s go!
Them Wall Pack Lights are super bright that were installed at the beginning of the video impressive Matt 30:52 @Diesel Creek
Haven't minded the shop series. Interesting how different things are done to both sides of the world I have lived and worked as a builder. Wish I had even a small part of a building like that for a workshop. Looking forward to more machinery type content. After all despite the differences, construction work I have seen a lot of being part of it for the last 42 years. That pays the bills. Plant and machinery. And in general, engineering. That is my hobby and interest. Waiting for some of those old rusty wrecks you keep dragging home to be brought back to life.
Good job with the outside lighting AND the insulation looks to be 'top notch'!
I have liked the shop build series, u've got variety for us, from auctions to shop builds and in between stuff which is life, thank u for taking us along, keep them coming when u can.
Yah, i'll second that!
You ain’t lying… try doing an alternator on a 2016 Nissan Pathfinder I thought oh yeah I have it done in 30 minutes took me eight hours..
That Trailer with the equipment is Sweet with the fold down ramp 15:00 @Diesel Creek
It’s a shop, don’t even worry about the echo. Anyone who complains about it obviously sucks at life. Keep it authentic cause most shops have an echo.
The shop site prep and build videos are great -- every bit as interesting to me as the mechanical stuff. Looking forward to the boiler and heating system install.
Thank you very much!
It must feel good to have it all come together. Keep up the good work!
Great dream shop. As soon as the inside is filled with furniture and things, the echo should go away
did foam for a lot of years, those guys have way nicer equipment then i ever had. looks like they did a good job. no one has ever been happy with the price of the foam but when you talk to them a while later they never regret it.
This has been a very enjoyable ride watching the progress on the shop we've hung in here with you for years watching your progress and I'm as excited about it as you are what a evolution change .Congratulations Matt you deserve it ,now you need to have a Garage party in the new shop
Oh Yes !!!
Every days a party now.warm and drie
@@marvincultee6740 - (*dry)
I loved the content around the shop, but I'm also looking forward to watching you reviving and fixing old heavy metal again 😄
ok
Fantastic addition to the channel! It's really going to make all the renovation work so much nicer to do!
Congratulations on your new shop’s roof insulation, patio ceiling and the outside lights.
Having an enclosed heated shop is going to raise your productivity exponentially. Can't wait to see the projects rolling thru that new building.👍🇺🇲
Don't stress about the acoustics, I know CZcamsrs often do but I think the realistic sound is fine in an environment like this, it's a workshop not a studio!
Looks great!
its a workshop, and the work he does is very noisy often! it is important to get rid of that echo.
Technically it’s both
It would be great to hear the band recording in the empty shop before trucks and dozers arrive.😃👍
That roof is going to be super tight . Zero noise . Very warm.
I have a 1000sq pole barn that Is bat insulated in the walls like yours and also added spray foam in the ceiling just like you did here. I can tell you from our experience you will love the effect now yours is much bigger but It should help keep the temp regulated just fine.
That shop has turned out great! Equipment, flags, work surfaces will help with the acoustics.
Thanks for always keeping it real and showing the real struggles. Too many channels want to make it look like they never hit a snag. That's what ruined commercial TV.
Fixing acoustics and reducing echo:
Grab some sheets of rock wool insulation.
Wrap em in cotton fabric.
Run a fine (2-3mm) wire straight through side to side from the long ends of the sheet.
Hang the assemblies in between the trusses in even spacing.
This will make so much difference in acoustics and echo reduction.
An amazing job well done there Matt, hope to see the final and finished building really soon, thank you for sharing this will all of us.
A shop most workman would die for. Good job and congratulations!
Love the Completion! I want to see that magnet cupholder hanging on the wall some time, doing it's "3rd Hand" job !
So nice to see you so close to your dream Matt! You're enthusiasm to be at this point shows!
Don't know about anyone else but i really enjoyed watching you're Shop being built from the ground up! It's been a great series seeing an idea become reality and it's a Hell of a Shop you built, Looking forward watching you put it too use!
Hey Matt, really happy for you man! Listen, I wouldn’t worry about the acoustics too much. Getting tool boxes, flags and a couple of vehicles will give the sound way more to dissipate off. You got this! Awesome shop. I can’t believe how much you’ve accomplished since I first saw you digging on the side of that church! Thanks for sharing your journey with everyone. I’ve seen the ups and downs, and I’ve seen you persevere and succeed. Be well.
Fill it up !!!😀
@@sallyannefrancis8647 Maybe a contest to see when Matt complains there isn't enough room?
@@klsc8510 my guess would be yesterday.
@@haroldphipps3457 I think it will take him just a short bit longer! It will be shortly after the crane is installed.
hanging up large flags, banners and other soft things on the walls will help a bunch. maybe some large painters drops/tarps, especially where the exhaust and grime will get splattered often(lol)
I am really enjoying the shop construction series. Congratulations on a job well done.
Hey Matt it's so thoughtful of you to build that nice space above the ceiling for the bats, birds and bugs to inhabit. LOL
I know you did a good job of sealing it up but those buggers can always find a way in.
don't know about anybody else , i've enjoyed seeing every step of a damn good workshop coming to life
The shop looks beautiful and those lights are very bright, well done Matt you have every right to be happy. Keep up the good work and stay safe out there.
All I can think about is the incredible progress made out there! The first video I ever saw of yours was when you were dragging the old green Autocar single axle truck through the pure mud trail in the cold, leafless forest in the middle of nowhere under this covered area sandwiched by 2 containers! (Best run-on sentence I think I've made thus far.) I thought, surely he's not going to restore that old thing under these conditions! There was a sea of mud under the roof too! But now, what an incredible change! Really glad to have tagged along to see your progress! You'll have an easier time getting that old Autocar restored right with this new shop.
Ceiling fans will do an awesome job of keeping things nice and toasty in there
The shipping container barn looks so small in comparison to the new shop
I’ve really really enjoyed all the Shop videos. I’ve watched them from the very beginning.
In my shop I have ceiling fans. They make a big difference in the winter. The heat that rises to the ceiling gets pushed back down and gets rid of any cold spots. The fans are cheap metal fans from my local granger store. It really helps keep the temperature even everywhere in the building and the heat is more efficient when the fans are going.
One thing for certain.
That foam is going to pay off in lowering your heating and cooling costs.
Really looks nice to Matt.
That was definitely one seriously professional crew.
The outside lights were definitely needed and do a great job lighting up that side drive.
As usual, another awesome episode in a day of Diesel Creek activities.
Oh yeah- huge difference with the rain noise between no foam vs foam... This shop is REALLY coming along! I'm so happy for you!
Built many foam systems over last 40 years. Being in AZ desert , heat isn’t necessary . Your project is coming together .
Sure have enjoyed the shop videos. You are a “man on a mission”when it comes to your building.
Very nicely done. I am looking forward to watching the crane put in and the final installation of the workbenches.
Fantastic job Mat, things are really coming together now, cant wait to see that overhead crane unit installation. Those outside lights are really the business too. Well done Mat, you should be very proud of your achievement.
Having that crane in the shop is going to be like actually LIFE changing! I've worked in shops with and without a gantry, and man a gantry crane in the shop is SO amazing to have!
Exceptional!
If you do not have any heat in the floor yet, the first warm day you have with high humidity, expect a very wet floor if you leave the doors open.
Have enjoyed the build series, can’t wait to see the equipment projects that can be done in relative comfort compared to the wet and cold. We don’t stay young forever. Now all you need is your new farm home yards away, but that doesn’t mean you have to do it yourself, even though you can! Keep it coming Matt, hope you never tire of your channel. I won’t. Thanks.
Matt you be good with those CubCadets! You know they have a special place in my heart. I can’t wait to see what you are going to do with this. This channel never NEVER has a dull moment!
I'm hoping he puts the two together for an articulated, 4wd Cub Cadet!!
Thanks for producing this series, some found it boring others, myself included looked forward to the video. I have enjoyed the Shop Build videos, in-fact I am eagerly awaiting the "I'm building ANOTHER shop" series of videos. My guess is you will need a paint shop soon.
I have suffered from Garage envy but that does not even come close for this build. Real handsome building and the crane will be the cherry on the cake.
I think you’ve gone a great job of mixing the shop build (which I’ve greatly enjoyed) with mechanical vids
Great job 👍🏼
Sheets overhead on trusses is a trial in patience made worse by the fact it’s the finish line and makes a person anxious because ya can see the finish line and you want to getter done. Nice thing about spray foam, you won’t have any drafts where it’s been sprayed. Happy for you Matt, stay the course, you are almost done, enjoying this series immensely, thanks for the tag along video sir.
You’ve done a great job Matt. You now have the perfect work space!
I hope so!
Matt, those guys did a nice job with that insulation. And quick. I'm amazed., and happy for you. Have a blessed day, Sir.
That was impressive! You got great people to do your foam. You are doing a great job on your dream shop.
Absolutely love the "shop series". The smiles are flowing through every frame! Don't get me wrong need some build back...But this is fantastic
Love the Shop Build Series! Glad for your realizing your Dream, Matt!
When you move your junk and tools in the work shop the sound will change it .the shop looks good 🎉💯👍
So happy for you Matt. That is the shop of a lifetime and it is turning out so well. Make sure to put a new cable on your crane.
Get Austin a milk crate to stand on !!! 😂😂😂
Dude that nail would have been the perfect place to hang a Diesel Creek logo. Austin was thinking ahead!
Staple landscape cloth to the bottom of the trusses
The landscape cloth will absorb the sound, is breathable, easily cut to go around lights, door hangers etc.
Or, staple landscape cloth vertically to the face of every third truss.
Love the shop series, its all part of your story and you are an excellent story teller. Looking forward to all the details of getting your dream shop up and running.
Matt love all your videos. I like you calm voice narration, and easy going personality . You are doing a beautiful job. I wish you all the luck you deserve it.
The sound of rain on a metal roof is one of the favorites of many.
Wow that is quality work that foam came out super Clean Matt 28:24 @Diesel Creek
I had my Little building spray foamed with open cell. Loved it so much I had the crew go to my house and spray my attic. In the Little building it allowed me to keep it above freezing with a 1500W heater (1200ft2 with 10' side walls). At my house and when it was in the teens the heater came on every 1.2 hours and ran for 10 minutes. House is 3800ft2 with high ceilings as well as some 12' vaulted ceiling areas.
Wow, that transporter couldn’t make into your shop to off load the man lifts, and you go in and out all the time, must of been a rookie driver. Nice job on the spray insulation.
Driver was let go from Swift.

Great to watch the shop come together, and very interesting to watch the insulation and painting crew working to get it done. Nice job.
The day ain't complete without a visit to Diesel Creek.... Everyone give Matt the big Thumbs up, he's at least earned that from all of us
There is another comment about this, but I also recommend that you close any gaps in your outside tin. This is concerning bees or wasps/hornets. They are very opportunistic and will use the smallest darn gaps to build a hive.
Stunning shop build series. Loving the videos.
So close to being finished!!!
It will never finish !!!🤣🤣
@@sallyannefrancis8647 I know, that's how it goes with big projects. 😁
Good job on the shop and getting those mowers in the scrap bin makes it look better outside
Matt don't worry about the acoustics, get a little diesel soot and dirt on everything that will take care of the echo
Speedy insulation work! Love your time-lapse work, so satisfying! The IR cam was fun - looking forward to seeing images of the heated floor! The acoustics -are- awfully hot, the idea of hanging baffles sounds good - curious to see what you come up with, you're always creative. How's the newly-installed drainage working? SUCH a great job you and your contractors have done here! Bravo.
Get a band in you will know !!!!
This has been a great series!! Enjoyed it very much! Congratulations to you on having a proper shop to work in now!
I love the shop series. I'm living vicariously through things like this because I don't have the land or money to ever build an awesome shop like yours.
I'm back watching your channel again.
It's so Great 😃👍
I'm not in good health anymore but watching what your doing is wonderful.
Keep up your fantastic videos 🙂..
cant wait to see what kind of shop tools you will be adding to your shop. i hope to see you bye a nice 14x40 metal lathe and a 9x49 milling machine to add to your repair of stuff. it is a very very nice shop and you and the contractors have done an exellent job. thumbs up MATT.
Its been really enjoyable watching the whole shop build progress from a virgin ground area to the very impressive shop you now have, cant wait till we get to the overhead crane build. well done Matt.
I'd consider painting the beams the same grey, would look very neat!
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it, hang in there buddy!!
I'm really enjoying the shop series. Glad to see you will have a great place for resurrecting old iron.
Awesome place to work! I’ve learned so much watching this shop build and can’t wait to do my own someday.
