today I visited my nearby hawker centre over at Toa Payoh.. the hawker that started it all for piggypuggy's hawker tours.. hope it's looking alive and healthy.. all the stalls still seem to be doin well.. lunch crowd is promising too. a wife option of food to choose from.. even a stall soecialising in Bak Kwa..
some defects in production of this video..

I enjoy your jovial and chatty tours especially your interaction with the hawker stall owners and helpers, perhaps more coverage - a special tour of traditional hawker cakes/breads/pao-buns in various parts of Singapore - way these are made and locations etc? I love tau sar piah, kaya puffs !

Indeed, so often Piggy's videos have a transcendent quality that gives us a unique widow into the lives of ordinary Singaporeans. It's something quite magical.
Wa the guy can solo handle all the coffee orders. And the line is quite long given how many orders keep coming. That many orders normally need to wait v long 😂.
I think our hawkers are quite amazing. A lot of them go solo through the day...

Attap Chee, immature seeds of Nipa(h) Palm popular in the Nanyang states as part of a dessert/sweet dish. Often sold canned or, in more recent times, in poly-material pouches.
Oh, and bejesus mate, stay away from the pork liver and kidney soup!! Fabulous stuff but even looking at it will make your toe scream.

Singapore has designed itself into the first world country with rising cost.. its hard to keep cost low when everyone is trying to have a share of profit.. from produce.. to rent.. to workers at stalls. Which is why Singapore hawkers are disappearing 😅

Most stalls sell not legit chendol .which is like ice kachang .Thankfully I know where to get authentic chendol which has either no ice shaving or very little ice shaving.
