People always say, "Why don't you just leave? ". If you leave, they will come after you. They control all the money, keep all the keys, isolate you from everyone, and psychology tear you down. I grew up with an extremely abusive father. We got away with the help of friends we were lucky.

@@maryarnold8291 No there's not. I grew up with an extremely abusive father. Friends of .y mother, and my grandfather helps us get out, change our name, birth certificate, and set up another State. My father has tried to find us, and tried kill me twice. Women are killed a lot, because they leave their abusive husbands, and the husband tracks them down to kill them. Abusers don't let go.
People don’t know until they are actually in the situation
There are so many resources now that there is always a way to leave if you truly want to most women don’t leave and keep their kids or need to be a safe situation because they want to stay with the man because they don’t wanna be alone. I know that I would remove from a woman that refuses to leave and most of the time now that’s what they do. They say you either leave him or we have to remove your kids and if she still chooses him then she’s a disgusting mother. They control all the money just means that you like your cozy life not having to work and that sounds like you problem. Why can’t the woman get a job support herself? She likes her life so she decides that she gonna stay around and get beat so that she can keep what she’s got. That’s her fault. I have no sympathy for stupid women.
As a mother, if you allow your children to watch abuse, you are now an abuser. You are mentally and emotionally abusing your children by showing them that 1 place they’re supposed to feel safe is not at all safe. That takes away all their security. When you’re a parent, you have to give up things you want to make sure your kids are safe. If you have to leave a man “you love” too damn bad. If you have to get off your butt and get a job, too damn bad. There are so many resources now and police act immediately and lock up the abuser whether you say so or not so that the woman can’t be punished cause she didn’t press the charges. In this day, w/all these resources, it’s just pathetic and stupid to stay and there’s no sympathy for stupidity. If you have your children living in that, you shouldn’t have custody of your children.

You have to so it looks like your on his side...that way he doesn't kill you when he gets out...they ALWAYS come after you...I waited then before he even saw the judge I ran like the wind all the way to the other side of the country....hid for a year away from friends and family except just a few trusted people...took years of hiding and being stalked until he finally killed his girlfriend...her death gave me freedom sadly.

I had an ex who like to back me in corners and say and do horrible things to me. I warned him that if I didn't have an escape route I was going to go through him and come at him like a spider monkey. The third time he did it I didn't have an escape route. So I came at him like a spider monkey. I broke three ribs, lacerated his liver, and left him very bruised and broken. I called the police that time, I told them I was protecting myself, they could see the bruises on me. He had already called the police on me for domestic violence a couple of months before that, when I never laid my hands on him or anyone I've loved ever. All I did was put his belongings outside my door and tell him to leave. The officer told me that was considered a domestic assault and arrested me. I don't know what he said to them but they ended up putting me in a turtle suit and a psych cell. I don't know It's time of you know what a turtle suit is, but it's that green jumper thing that you sometimes see inmates wear and you are completely naked underneath plus most the time the velcro doesn't work. They put it on people who are on suicide watch and things like that. Luckily the district attorney and judge dropped my case at my arraignment the next day. The officer that arrested me that day also arrested four other women, one of the women was put in the psych cell with me. She was a tiny little thing and every time I looked at her more bruises popped up. You could see the handprints around her neck. The cop arrested her for throwing a glass on the ground, not at him, on the ground basically to get his attention. He did not live there and that cop left that abusive asshole alone at her home with her teenage son. When I went up to speak to the judge I told him to please look at the blonde lady because the bruises were even more pronounced now and you could see the handprints clearly around her neck. The judge asked how many people were here that were arrested by this particular officer and four of us raised our hands, it was only women. The judge and the DA dismissed all of our cases. We all went and filed grievances against that officer, I don't know what happened probably nothing.
The day I finally stood up for myself I said I'll give you something to have me arrested for. I spent 4 years with him psychologically, verbally, emotionally, and physically abusing me. I hate when people say just leave them. People just don't understand how hard it is to get out and how dangerous it is to leave. That was about 10 years ago. I went to a lot of therapy because I couldn't believe I put my hands on somebody that I love and for the fact that he totally twisted my brain up to her where I wasn't who I was before. I've had a concealed carry permit since I could legally have one, but I rarely carried my gun, I carried my gun for years after leaving him because I was so afraid he was going to kill me. Now I've been with a wonderful man for 6 years that provides and protects me. I will never let another man abuse me in any way again, I will fight back, I will press charges, and I will disappear. Ladies if you are in a situation where you are being abused there are resources, kind of like an underground railroad that can get you away from them. You have to get away because eventually they will kill you. Ladies and men you have a support from a stranger on the internet and I know it doesn't mean much, but I support you and I believe in you. We need to also need to remember that men are victims too. You are seen and valid. ❤

I feel so heartbroken that these poor young women end up in these abusive relationships and feel like they don't deserve so much better. Granted, these violent cowards don't show their true colors until they know it will be impossible for them to break away, which is how they trap them. It's so sad to see these stories and know that more than half of these women will continue to stay with their abusers because they know that nobody will be able to help them escape. The last female was just a girl. She's been battered by that boy for likely most of their relationship. The fact that he's 15 years old and is already so violent proves that he will spend a lot of time behind bars until cops are forced to end his pathetic life.

They've always been cruel, now it's just more visible. Neighbors and friends no longer turn their heads when boyfriends beat on their girlfriends as much as they used to. Cops actually take these situations seriously now and the entire neighborhood hears about it. Being a survivor of domestic abuse, dealing with a manipulative and controlling man that Gaslite me for a little more than 10 years I can say with no uncertainty to anyone who is dealing with this type of abuse now... no amount of money, no matter how good the sex is, or handsome a guy is or beautiful a woman is it's not worth the years you lose trying to fix them and their problems. You can't fix anyone, but you can save yourself in more ways than one. You will save your sanity, self-worth, years of physical abuse, of manipulation and feeling guilty every time they do something to themselves or you, and the emotional damage it causes you and your children if you have them. leave... in fact, "RUN" away as fast as you can and don't look back. Move away as far as possible if this person threatens to kill you if you leave them. Go to a battered women and men's shelter. Don't run to a family member because they will find you and drag you back or worse, kill you and everyone there connected to you. I know it's scary, and I know how hard it is to walk away and give up on someone you think you love... but you have to love yourself more and think of your future happiness. I don't care if a dude owns a mansion, drives a porsche, and has millions in the bank. Trust me, it's not going to change anything just because you get to live well for however long they want to continue to control you.

I have two sisters that had multiple BFs over the years, are now married with near adult children now. But they were never touched by their previous BFs, and in fairness they were all nice fellas.
