There is always money for that. Was this also how the coronavirus was developed? Viruses, fantastic weapons. Easy to transport, hardly any trace of where they come from. Now, we will see where this all goes but trying to regulate it will be futile. Even the countries that cry for regulations won't abide by their own regulations. None of them will. They don't trust one another, as well they shouldn't. This is going to go into a lot of different directions and you can be sure that some of them will be bad. But regulations will be a joke.

Genetic engineering if done correctly can be more important and revolutionary than splitting the atom. However genetic engineering at the moment is like a blind man leading another blind man around. Meaning unless we find out exactly what each sequence and strand of our DNA does and what effect it has in our body or the role It plays. We should not blindingly be modifying anything because the consequences could be disastrous.

He forgot to think on such techniques of "targeting the specific area" could be used as the bio weapons "like the kill button to switch off or overload of the person who can't handle the information or neurotransmitters of the person's brain's electronic synapses", perhaps in the case of getting attacked by the electriric nuclear super sonic attacks. As far as I observed the concerns on the worry about the application of such technical skills and the knowledge on the thema of bio weapons use. 🧐 Because the team has been forgetting to think about the good technical skills are not creating super soldiers, but the purpose of killing the enemy to kill or uour patients to to heal and let live healthy are on their hand by choice. That is the most serious concern of the applications under the abuse by the terrorists with advanced level of science, when the good such skills will be not used as therapeutics. CRISPER is wonderful technical improvement, yet under the abuse of bio terrorism "kill or live switch buttons". The noise from upper level of educated scientists have been silenced, it seems.

      According to Bard:
Yes, a whole bunch of genetically modified mosquitoes were released in Florida in 2021. The mosquitoes were released by a company called Oxitec, and they were designed to help control the spread of mosquito-borne diseases such as Zika, dengue, and yellow fever.
The mosquitoes were genetically modified to be male and to carry a gene that is lethal to female offspring. This means that when the male mosquitoes mate with wild females, the female offspring will die before they can mature and lay eggs. This helps to reduce the overall mosquito population, which can help to prevent the spread of disease.
The release of the genetically modified mosquitoes was controversial, with some people expressing concerns about the potential risks of releasing genetically modified organisms into the environment. However, the Florida Keys Mosquito Control District, which approved the release, argued that the risks were outweighed by the potential benefits.
The release of the genetically modified mosquitoes was a success, and it is estimated that they helped to reduce the mosquito population by up to 80%. The company is now planning to release more genetically modified mosquitoes in Florida, and they are also considering releasing them in other countries.
Here are some additional details about the release of the genetically modified mosquitoes in Florida:
      * The mosquitoes were released in the Florida Keys, a chain of islands off the southern tip of Florida.
      * The release was approved by the Florida Keys Mosquito Control District.
      * The mosquitoes were released over a period of seven months, from April to November 2021.
      * The total number of mosquitoes released was 144,000.
      * The release of the mosquitoes was a success, and it is estimated that they helped to reduce the mosquito population by up to 80%.
The release of the genetically modified mosquitoes in Florida is a significant development in the field of mosquito control. It is the first time that genetically modified mosquitoes have been released on a large scale in the United States, and it could pave the way for the wider use of this technology to help control mosquito-borne diseases.

Typical comment from ignorance. We've been breeding animals and plants for thousands of years. Go pull up a picture of what an ear of corn used to look like before farmers 100's of years ago altered it genetically, yeah Big Farma :). Sometimes it goes smooth, sometimes there have been manageable issues. CRISPR is just breeding without totally unpredictable results that occur in traditional methods. You target the specific gene sequence(s) you want to change without involving the part of the gene that you really don't want to change. You can get a corn plant that is drought tolerant without potentially effecting taste, for example. Furthermore, bacteria are used to do the editing - the same bacteria have been editing on their own for millions of years before scientists put them to use. Similarly spontaneous (natural) mutations occur in living organisms all the time, and we have no control over that either.

@Keep Calm please elaborate on your evidence of this "rushing". Did you not read my previous post? Humans have been breeding various forms of life for thousands of years with incremental technologies. And CRIPSR is just human control over a natural occurring process. These fears of yours are akin to when people years ago thought physicists would destroy the earth by building and running particle colliders, a controlled collision of the same atoms and subatomic particles that crash into each other regularly everywhere throughout the universe -without any help from humanity.

    • @jonathonsimon7770
      @jonathonsimon7770 Před rokem

@Keep Calm You seem to be the one who is arrogant. Get familiar with this natural occurring process before you opine on it - these DNA edits have been occurring on their own, since the earliest life appeared, long before humans did any coaxing. Furthermore, you should understand that the biological definition for breeding is, To develop a kind of animal or plant for a particular purpose or quality.

    • @jonathonsimon7770

@Keep Calm Sorry but I'm not talking about your ethics concerns - my response was targeted to the original poster's notion that "we are playing with things we have failed to understand " which is total BS, and your comment that we are "rushing in" without caution - is also total BS. And as far as I can see, you have provided no evidence to counter, other than to speculate on my credibility without actually knowing my actually qualifications.
But if you are saying there's a down side to this technology - sure - isnt there with anything - cars kill people - airplanes can crash - a hammer almost killed Pelosi's husband, - drugs have side effects. So is that your point - give me a break?

These technologies give me a sort of nihilist feeling. Our genetic code is meaningful, it is a product of millions of years of selection and game theory, the synthesis of many strategies and algorithms battling it out in ever more cunning and refined ways. While this is all very promising, indeed, this is our holy grail, it also makes me feel that we are all just code, just programs that can be changed on a whim. Hopefully we manage to keep in perspective the geological timescales that brought us here and remain grounded, avoiding the mistakes we have made when we dared to engineer darwinism and economics in the beginning of the last century.

You probably think that's pseudoscience, but no, they were the claims the best scientists of their day concluded, it was bad science based on confirmation bias by racists as CRISPR is bad science by ableists.

Molecular biologist Miroslav Radman writes, "Mutagenesis has traditionally been viewed as an unavoidable consequence of imperfections in the process of DNA replication and repair. But if diversity is essential to survival, and if mutagenesis is required to generate such diversity, perhaps mutagenesis has been positively selected for throughout evolution."
      Evelyn Fox Keller explains:
"We now know that mechanisms for enduring genetic stability are a product of evolution. Yet a surprising number of mutations in which at least some of these mechanisms are disabled have been found in bacteria living under natural conditions. Why do these mutants persist? Is it possible that they provide some selective advantage to the population as a whole? Might the persistence of some mutator genes in a population enhance the adaptability of that population? Apparently so. New mathematical models of bacterial populations in variable environments confirm that, under such conditions, selection favors the fixation of some mutator alleles and furthermore, that their presence accelerates the pace of evolution."
The mutants behind autism offer some great advantages to the human race, diminishing the genes is a great risk because without those mechanisms there is no asurety of genetic stability pushing us in the direction of extinction.
      Psychologist Howard Gardner warns:
"With the coming of age of genetics, the danger magnifies. Beyond doubt we will discover genes that are important for reading alphabetical scripts; and there is already evidence that a small set of genes may be related to reading problems. As with the brain evidence, such information can be helpful for early intervention; but it could easily be used for stigmatising purposes. Indeed, it might become relevant for marriage prospects, holding a job, securing insurance, or even eugenic purposes. And no doubt, especially in our interventionist society, individuals with a genetic predisposition for reading problems will look into different kinds of genetic engineering or therapy. It is possible that such interventions will work and have no negative side effects, but it is perhaps more likely that they will have unanticipated effects. And we might even want to consider which valued human abilities - eg. spatial or pattern recognition skills - might be placed at risk were we to target our interventions specifically at reading disorders."
We can see the vast majority of so called diseases for what they are; they are discriminatory social constructions, not an intention to objectively understand human biology.
Were global warming, warmer oceans, production of epidemic diseases, climate change, increased natural hazards and more anticipated? I doubt it so I would say Howard Gardner has a good point, every time humans have tried to play God and control nature nature struck humans back with greater problems, the people trying to solve the problems are the people who caused the problems and are trying to solve those problems repeating the same mistake to cause more problems.
Since those of us you define as "genetically inferior" have abilities those you define as "genetically superior" don't have, doesn't that mean "normal" people are genetically inferior as well?
This is no different to the eugenics movement.

All gene creation depends on the conditions and environment. So just with those basic ACTG you can create any life controlling the conditions and environment. Even new organisms can be created just by computer modelling and emulating environments. Gene engineering is just the beginning . But huge scope for furthermore. Exceptional movies thanks,.

Lets carefully and deliberately pursue this science. It is for the good of all mankind that we are agile and adaptable genetically. Our survival as a species may depend on it.

I and a large percentage of the public have Margellins Disease and have gone untreated for symptoms ranging from skin lesions containing fibers and curious debris to severe abdominal pain due to the erroneous determination of Delusianel Parasitoesis (Now linked to Lyme due to public outcry for the truth as it's clearly physical) by Kaisers Federally funded study. The stigma of that diagnosis CAUSES mental torture as the protocol, assuming we are mutilating ourselves, is to send patients home with itching cream or force patients to endure two weeks in a psych ward
Historically we have been thrown away, our lives cut short by early death, an ALARMING number have chosen suicide. To date it is not medically insured there is no disability assistance, we lost our jobs, our familys our homes. Amiture pathologist, microbiologist and photographer I have become like many more there I am my subject and two associates. I have done over 10 years research educating myself on the subject. has been changed. There is no medical support for MD victims as of yet, I have become an amiture pathologist, microbiologist and photographer studying samples from myself and two infected associates. I want to ask, delicately and respectfully in the spirit of need, of love and forgiveness, with No Fear...I will mispell..we are full of Nno Bts...lA. Our DNA has been changed. Man made technology. Where in the world have these "beings" come from infiltrating our bodies, controlling and changing our urges, our likes and dislikes? Causing extreme torturous pain often seeming like stimulas and response. A collective intelligence within our bodies working with those in the environment. Many of us have been worn down and fear the consequences of speaking of it I myself one, however, with a forgiving spirit in the name of Jesus Christ I pray for peace, public awareness and a humane solution for everyone involved. 😇

That is really neat... But I really want the healing and restoration technologies to be released. I just think that so much is kept hidden or maybe they are wanting money ....there comes a point where it becomes more important than money but I get why some kind of value system need be. Frodo...
