Ever since I got into dubstep and colour bass I've always wished for a full-length story-driven LP from a colour bass artist, since the technical mastery of these artists in my mind would very much prove to work to their favor in creating a beautifully crafted experience, and I believe this is truly what I was hoping for. Everything about this project just expresses prime mastery of sound design, composition, story-telling, it all comes together really. Beautifully so. The story the album tells itself is absolutely gorgeous, something I've spent a lot of time exploring myself, seeing it pulled off in this way is surreal to me. There's highlight tracks like From Atoms To Pixels, portraying the idea of the story perfectly and powerfully, with the following tracks feeling incredibly heartfelt with the scene being set this way. Mindburn is simply one of the most fucking insane things I've ever experienced. Just all around, it's a fantastic piece of work. You can literally feel the love, care and thought that was put into every part of this project's length. There's a reason for everything. It's fantastic. I love it.

Aetherborne was a journey through Chime's mind, and that's what imo make this album perfection. It's about storytelling, and that's what I love, creating story while hearing music.

Just listened to the whole thing on spotify. This might be my favourite album of all time. The places wich the main character visits are so well brought back into the music and all the tracks fit together really well. 10/10 album

What i liked the most is the way you portray anxiety, it being like some kind of glitch present in a system... In "From Atoms to Pixels" is very clear when the person here feels some kind of anxiety during the process of transformation, because every time he accepts his death or realizes he would never go back the song just glitches

What i wanted to say is just thank you. As a person with anxiety i appreciate every feeling put into this album, because we could be feeling good and all of the sudden we get buried into a panic attack, blaming ourselves for not being strong enough, when we clearly are.

Chime, I first discovered you when I was in the darkest point in my life I've ever experienced. Your music brought me so much joy, and gave me the strength to move forward. Now, when crisis has struck again, and my entire future is uncertain, you dropped Aetherborne. This was a nostalgia trip, a revisiting of my favorite electronic genre ever, and another time that I can claim my life has been saved by music. Not only is this one of the most beautiful pieces of art I've ever had the pleasure of witnessing, it is also a collection of the music I resonate with most. And mindburn, alongside Slientroom and Frums' Aegleseeker, is the most impressive piece of digital music I have had the pleasure of listening to. I am eagerly looking forward to your next work. And thanks, thanks for the past 5 years of wonderful music, it has been more impactful than you know.

one of the fondest memories i'll ever have within this life is listening to head in the clouds/incandescent/colours/skyward while playing minecraft into the morning hours. to see recontextualizations of that era in this format is one of the most full-circle feelings ive ever felt in music, to the point where i physically ask myself where the time has gone. to hear goldfinch out of the blue gave me full-body chills. zephyr not only stuck with me in those minecraft days but was also my pandemic song, as i sat in my backyard in isolation and looked to the sky, feeling hopeful. the greatest gift of all is starstorm; paper mario means everything to me and the motif has always been there, but for it to be present where the stakes are the highest absolutely shakes me to my core. in electronic music ive found that there's storytelling for the sake of storytelling, visuals for the sake of visuals, sound design for the sake of sound design, but anyone would be naive to think that this project wasn't stemmed from a love from what matters most to u in this world. it feels organic in that regard rather than cheesy. as someone who will forever share ur interests, no other artist marries the world between video games, nostalgia and electronic music like u do, so i thank u, ive never felt so heard before.
my new obsession is the flow between zephyr, chrysalism and bloom. the house has two exits. progress forward.
I love this album, the story is amazing, the way all the tracks sound so diverse, each having a different story. The songs are simple, yet so complex, easy to dance to, easy to imagine stuff, easy to study/draw to. They way you pushed you skills to the test and then decided to go even further.
Chime, this is a masterpiece.

There is absolutely no question about it, this is without a doubt one the best albums of 2023. Arguably this decade even. From start to finish it's filled with passion and love from Chime's past all the way to now. This is absolutely an album to remember.
I want a tattoo of Chime's logo so bad- đđđ it's so simple yet so meaningful, as his music has gotten me through YEARS of my life. Not to get incredibly sappy but his music has pulled me out of many a depressive episode and given me a much needed escape from reality. I've had the pleasure of listening to this album yesterday over on chime's patreon, and overall it is my absolute favourite album of all time, the amount of love and care that's been put into this album is stunning, the remasters of existing tracks are great, and the project as a whole is one of the best piece of works I've ever heard in the EDM Scene!

Really love this album. Some of your older songs (Zephyr and Starstorm) got a huge update in production, which sounded amazing. The story-telling is fascinating and the music is very impactful.
An initial fear I had going into the album would be that it would be overly obsessed with pretty colour-bass sound design with nothing else going for it, as I see lots of colour-bass releases have that problem, but it was fortunately not the case within this album. Really great album of the year and glad to be a fan.
my god this album is incredible. everything feels perfectly woven into the storyline and every track serves its purpose from start to finish. ESPECIALLY MINDBURN HOLY HELL that was one of the best songs iâve ever heard.

Mindburn is definitely one of the most creative songs I have heard in a long time, and it really helps build the story of this album altogether. This is true and unique album, combining different elements from videogames, soundfonts, chiptune sound design, colour bass sounds, house, drum & bass more experimental stuff and even some orchestral elements (and Chime as a vocalist is awesome)

Every track sets a particular scene for the world built in the album, combined with a lot of tension and release, and I'm blown away with how varied and explorative the tracks are, with smooth transitions to blend from one track to another. Overall, I found this to be a wonderfully massive project that really delivers sonically, and even visually with this video! I can easily tell that a lot of love and care has been put into this release, very well done.

I haven't left a comment on this yet because I'm speechless. This is my favorite album to be released since 2018 (Trench by twenty one pilots was my former favorite), and it blows Trench out of the water. This is the closest you can get to flawless, and with 17 songs that's near impossible. This made Chime rise from an artist that I had respect for, to my favorite artist ever. If you keep producing at this quality, I can't wait to see what you do next. Massive thanks to Chime for starting my favorite genre ever (and making my favorite label about the genre), and for making this absolutely fantastic album. If this doesn't give electronic music the respect it deserves, then we're screwed.

I dont know HOW but at the first time I heard this album, becomes my favorite, with: Simulation Album - Virtual Riot, and also Uprising - Teminite
Of all the Chime songs that I listen to, of all of them it has been a unique experience and totally different from what I have seen before. One of the things that I love the most is the connection that the songs have Songs with each other you feel in a different and new world perhaps from there the virtual world theme without a doubt the best album that chime has done so far đđĽ
Zephyr feels nostalgic
Definitely a new album full of many emotions and feelings, some tracks were already available before but it doesn't take away the feeling when listening to the album. I consider that he is one of the minors that he has taken out and will remain as the best of all time. Long live Melodic Dubstep and Chime!!!

I donât exactly know why, but this album resonated with me as a gay teen alot. In a world where you barely see any likeable representation this is just so fresh, I needed some gay art rn. But seriously, this album is sooo much more than that. Every song fits into this journey to the aether so well, the concept of the different biomes almost feels like a D&D campaign or a plattformer like Getting Over It. Thanks Chime! đđđ

"This is in my opinion one of the best albums to come out of the edm/bass music scene, period. Like, I knew the album was gonna be good, but I didnât think itâd be THIS GOOD. With the remastered older tracks, to the seamless transitions, and the storytelling here. This album was crafted with clear, genuine care. Even if there are individual aspects of some of the songs that I donât like, it never took away from the overall listening experience.
