- I had a lot of fun recapping Ridley Scott's Raised by Wolves tie-in comic last week in dramatic style, so I decided to give the same treatment to this Prometheus / Alien tie-in! After Prometheus was released, Dark Horse created a series called Fire and Stone which traverses multiple eras across both the Alien and Predator franchises. The series is entertaining and also fills in some interesting lore left out of the movies. In this video, I recap chapter one of “Fire and Stone: Prometheus”.

I was so disappointed with Prometheus. Not that I disliked the story. I just didn't like that it left you with the cliff hanger of the Engineers and then killed off the main character off screen. Such a slap in the face. I was really intrigued with the engineers arc. I think this is something they could have had as a spinoff series but they rushed right back into incorporating "Alien". I'm one of the few that seems to have loved the movie enough to want a better follow up lol
As for the video, definitely do more!
Lol I definitely had mixed feelings on Prometheus. I absolutely loved the concepts, world-building, and aesthetic but was more mixed on the story. I was one of the people disappointed with the characters' actions (i.e., the horror movie trope of characters doing dumb things to progress the plot). Though, I agree on the Engineers arc. I really wanted to continue following Elizabeth Shaw so the offscreen death was definitely a bummer. Either way, I hope they do come back to the Prometheus series again. I like that Ridley Scott attempted to elevate the movie from its sci-fi/horror roots to keep the horror but put even more emphasis on the sci-fi.
@@OneTakeVids Yeah I hope they go back to it. Even a HBO series would be great seeing how Raised By Wolves looks great production wise.
Seemed like he didn't want to really make it about the xenomorphs, but didn't know how to make the story interesting without them.
So true. Prometheus sequel is a clear example of "how to destroy a great movie with a shitty sequel ?"..Ridley and the writers were probably high while filming the sequel

Prometheus IS Raised by Wolves.. Ridley wanted an Android movie, not an Alien movie, this is why we got the series.
Please more. PleAse, whatever isn next , tartarus ? Or whatever. Love the alien/predator/AVP content the most out of all your content haha. Would also love anything regarding Machiko Noguchi , if not her full story throughout all the comics/books
Promise more is coming! Funny enough, of all the content I make, these are definitely up there in terms of what I enjoy making the most (almost gives me the feeling of telling a story, even though I'm really just "re-telling" someone else's story in another medium). So, I definitely plan on circling back to "Alien: Fire and Stone" + possibly some of the new Alien comics that were announced (Disney has the rights now thanks to the Fox acquisition so Marvel will be launching some Alien comics this March).

Is this real cartoon or just comic book
I can not understand how it is possible that these comics are not Canon. Both fire and stone and life and death arcs are decidedly more interesting than both Prometheus and Covenant and are ten times better written than this one, and unlike AVP they perfectly manage to unite the two narrative universes while also giving a sequel to the Francchaise after Aliens, way better than Alien 3 and that Alien 4 shit.
For me instead of making Alien Romulus they should have canceled Covenant and made a movie or even better a series adapted to these comics.
Not Canon means that for filmmaking purposes, they are not going to make films about this. I could say the same things about the Alien Versus Predator video games.
@@KaosNova2 yes ok but these little ropes unlike most video games would fit perfectly within the history of the films (which according to what Scott and the authors said would include from Prometheus up to the events of Aliens, therefore alien 3 and 4 are not Canon for the main story of the films, the same thing goes for AVP). However, I just wanted to say that it makes you think about how products like these are definitely better than the same films to which they are connected, then Covenant was the lowest point given that it didn't even manage to carry on Prometheus' Prenesses and only caused further confusion to the lore and continuity of the story. Then we need to mention the new Marvel arcs which from what I understand have been declared as Canon for the story, and if this happened for those I wonder how it is possible not to also take these arcs into consideration.
