Every time you see an elephant, keep in mind in captivity, we actually have to take a horse, hoof rasp and rasp the bottom of them and rhinos feet because in the wild day at a minimum travel, about 20 miles a day.And they wear the skin on their feet.They can't do that in captivity.I can only imagine what that poor elephant trapped in that hole must have felt and there are such social creatures. This one's probably antisocial.By now, like imagine, raising a human-like that, they wouldn't want to be involved with a bunch of people or social activities would become extremely draining, not saying that they would want to live alone forever.But it would be hard in captivity, living with a herd that they can't even move around within a very small area.Compared to what elephants are supposed to travel , there's gonna be a lot of rehabilitation for that elephant just mentally

The second story reminds me of an elephant from a book called incredible Ivan and basically she was trapped in a cage her entire life that was in a mall, she ended up passing away from a leg injury in the book but then all the other animals there got to be sent to a zoo where they were treated better
