  • U.S. Air Force Pararescuemen conduct training on all aspects of combat, medical procedures and search and rescue tactics to hone their skills, providing the highest level of tactical capabilities to combatant commanders.
    Pararescuemen (also known as PJs) are United States Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) and Air Combat Command (ACC) operators tasked with recovery and medical treatment of personnel in humanitarian and combat environments. These special operations units are also used to support NASA missions and have been used to recover astronauts after water landings. They are attached to other SOF teams from all branches to conduct other operations as appropriate. Of the roughly 200 Air Force Cross recipients, only 24 are enlisted rank, of which 12 are Pararescuemen. Part of the little-known Air Force Special Operations community and long an enlisted preserve, the Pararescue service expanded to include Combat Rescue Officers early in the 21st century.

    These guys are no joke. We had a soldier get left behind due to a bad count getting on a Chinook in 2008 in Iraq (That Platoon Sergeant was removed almost immediately). These guys had our guy and was back within an hour.

      Right? I was in a Cal Air Guard unit (the former 129 ARRG, I believe it's now called a Rescue Wing), and my comm unit was supporting them in an exercise. I volunteered to be a "survivor", got to see what they do close up. That was nearly 40 years ago. If my old wrinkled gray butt were to get in a real jam now, I'd want those guys to get me out. Damned impressive men.

    • @David13spurs
      @David13spurs Před 5 lety +30

      Suppressors and silencers are two different things. Silencers silence most of the sound of a gun or rifle and suppressors suppress the flash coming off the muzzle so you can not be seen by the enemy.

    • @whydidimakethis111
      @whydidimakethis111 Před 5 lety +55

      You're thinking of flash hiders. "Silencer" is a term often used interchangeably with suppressor, but suppressor is much more accurate to what it actually does. These, among other things, will reduce the flash and lower the volume of the gunshot. You can't silence any kind of rifle shot, unless you use subsonic ammunition, because bullets still travel fast enough to break the sound barrier in most rifle cartridges.

    That was interesting. From watching the lasers during the night fire, you could see who was going to pass and who wasn't. Some had consistent rise and fall to their point-of-aim and some were searching randomly. Granted, they may have just run across an obstacle course to get there, but they looked pretty chill to me. Also, does anybody out there shoot a pistol well with their finger over the trigger guard? Not saying it's wrong (these guys are PJs and I'm not) but I never saw anyone teach it.

      American exceptionazism We pulled out of Vietnam because there was no point in fighting 3rd world guerillas too cowardly to fight normally so they surprised us in the woods constantly, and they were brutal, they would purposely leave downed pilots so when pjs came they could pick them off as well. Our citizens began to have unrest about the war so we withdrew, it was far from done, but we listened to our people.

      @kellerweskier7214 Před 5 lety +20

      @@BlckCloud73 actually ParaRescue here are the US's top combat special forces units. they are trained in all circumstances like the seals. but instead of trying to have stealthy SOP. they are trained to rip through the front lines of enemy forces, pick up 150~300lbs of SEALs on their backs, and fight their way back out. they are a recovery focused special forces unit with the fighting skills better then the SEALs to get their jobs done. their job is to land HERE. go HERE. get THIS. and GET OUT. not. land HERE. try to get HERE. find SOMETHING. dispose of anything in the way. and then GET OUT.
      ParaRescue is a simpler mindset. not designed for covert and intel gathering. they are there to push into enemy lines, and get out with who ever is stuck in those lines... by force if they must.
      i agree. SEALs are good at their own operations. but SEALs arnt generally built to take on the enemy head first like ParaRescue is.
      Of the roughly 200 Air Force Cross recipients, only 24 are enlisted rank, of which 12 are Pararescuemen.
      They are trained in:
      9 weeks of para rescue/Combat Rescue Officer Indoctrination Course
      3 weeks of Army Airborn school
      5.5 weeks of Airforce combat diver training
      1 day of Navy Underwater egress training
      2.5 weeks of airforce basic survival
      5 weeks of army free fall and coordination and operations school
      37 weeks of pararescue EMT-Paramedic training
      24 weeks of USAF pararescue specialization course.
      10 days of Advanced Pararescue operations course.
      =87 weeks roughly
      What do the SEALs get training in?
      8 week Naval Recruit Training
      8 week Naval Special Warfare Prep School
      24 week Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL Training
      5 week Parachute Jump School
      26 week SEAL Qualification Training
      6 month Professional Development - Individual Specialty Training
      6 month Unit Level Training
      6 month Squadron Integration Training
      =83 weeks roughly
      they are trained for different aspects. But pararescue is designed more around fighting in, and pulling out ASAP with their targets. because, you know. the SEALs need to call 911 sometimes.

Social security is a joke that never should have happened - put the same money into a mutual fund and you'd have millions even on a low income by retirement. Massive debt because of all the public programs you've mentioned - typical of a socialist country. Absolutely materialistic. Fake people in every country.
