The cat is well fed, but that doesn't mean someone is its owner. Personally, I think it's a stray that just gets fed a lot. Looking at its fur and body language, it looks messy and exhausted. I'm no expert so I'm not gonna pretend like I know for sure, but if this is true, I really hope it finds a home, because it looks so full of love, but just lacks a place to share it.

Cats are social creatures, and need company. If for nothing else, for grooming help - everyone knows you can't clean your own ears! That's why they like to be petted, and most love brushes - you are "grooming" them, from their perspective, or at least trying to; we just don't have the right kind of tongues to do it properly, but a brush comes pretty close.
And just like us hoomans, a touch is comfort in itself.

If there no microchip then you take it, thats not a feral cat thats obviously a stray cat and a stray cat cannot survive for very long in the wild despite what you hear some retards say. That cat looks well cared for. Healthy size and nice coat. It’s very possible he’s an outdoor cat. I knew someone who had a cat that used to leave for days and come back when he was ready. He also took to going to neighbors. A few times we would get a call that the cat had been at the neighbors house and they don’t mind, but could we get him because he was bullying their dogs. I had a cat who hated collars & used to climb the firescape and go into the upstairs apartment and eat that cats food and terrorize that cat. She took off her collars all the time. Just because it’s outside doesn’t mean it’s a stray.
How can one encounter such a sweet cat, and then go home without the cat? I’d want to adopt it. Cats are awesome.

FYI - I have been owned by MANY cats over the VERY MANY years of my life.
None of them have EVER been a threat to any potential prey animals nor have they EVER shown any interest in being so.
They've all been far too fat, lazy and pampered and I made it VERY clear to them, from day 1, that such actions are unacceptable. (If that makes me a bad, irresponsible, cat slave, so be it. If people DON'T instill such behaviour, how irresponsible are they?!)
In fact none of my cats have shown any inclination to catch - or even chase - the occassional mouse that might venture into the house.
One cat would sit on my verandah and watch local birds eat her food out of her bowl!

There are cats currently in my neighbourhood that I see nearly everyday on the street - and that I and many others enjoy interacting with.
Although I have never met or even seen their slaves, no one would consider, for one second, just taking them away!
I always have a 'cat door' so my cats can come and go as they choose - during daylight hours. It's always locked at night.

I remember camping on some camp site on the Pennine way. In the morning I could her a 'puff, pff, by my ear. A kitten had got. In and was sound asleep by the side of my head. At breakfast and when packing my bag, it just would not leave me alone. Gave it a bit of sausage though. I actually love cats.
