Falling into it. Employing the lead side to achieve a desirable whip effect (speed). Using the big muscles, i.e., taking the arms out of it-get that easy swing feeling. Start training with short backswings and work up gradually as improvement/consistency develops. All brilliant advice which will guide my very next range session. Thanks, Ali, and I appreciate your honesty in sharing your not quite so perfect swings too; this will give me the courage to persevere in my own efforts.

I was doing this very thing a few months ago and it was working brilliantly, just as Ali says. I was ‘falling’ to the left side as I got to the top of the back swing and it even felt like my back was facing the target and then when I got to the bottom of my swing the strike was great, really compressed, and I was getting great distance - so much so I had to adjust my club selection. And then I got a shoulder injury and I haven’t been able to get it back. Bugger! But Ali is so right, this really works great when you get it.

I'm gonna try this, I really hope it works. You were describing me in the start of the video. I feel like my irons don't go anywhere

I started thinking about the whip on the bottom strike from a previous video you did a while ago and man has it helped me tremendously! Would this still be true for using driver as well?

I’m with @shakes2966. I play to an 8 - 10 hdcp depending on the course and tee box we play from. Generally strike my irons well, fairly straight most of the time, but when I miss it’s often a push (right handed player.) Drives me crazy. I don’t believe it’s an alignment issue. Might be blocking it? Id be interested to see you do a video on typical better player swing faults and fixes. Always enjoy your insights and clear instructions! Thanks!

Good point. I play off 4 so I am just like you. A high % of videos by all youtubers show swing faults that players like you and I never do. They show swings that look like they would be done by someone who is disabled, then hit the ball normal and say look how I fixed this. Players off single figure handicaps are off such handicaps because they don't have problems with grip, ball position, weight, take away etc. Our problem is just consistency. Videos on how to be consistent would be better for you and I. You and I already birdie 1-3 holes a round, so we can do it just like a pro, its just doing it for 18 holes and not just 14 holes that makes the BIG difference between us and them. Now I am off to play at The Eastern today here in Victoria.

@@anthonycoleman1909 Good to know legit low handicappers are still searching YT videos to better their games! (4!!) The quest for excellence continues. Tough game to play well but we all love the challenge, I’m sure. Play well in Victoria. Beautiful part of our good neighbor, Canada! Believe it or not my wife and I are heading to Pebble Beach very soon. Return visit for us. Spectacular iconic course. It’s stupid expensive but life is short. Have fun out there & play well!

I play to low double figures & I think that full turn is the biggest pain point for me. Finding that club head speed & low point is so difficult for a fairly average golfer. Head trying to keep still often results in very stiff backswing

im sure 99% of new golfers suffer from slices but have you thought about videos of better player swing faults ? i myself swing too much from the inside. 10+ degrees. coming in too shallow so its hard for me to compress the ball/take a divot. my right shoulder drops too early in the swing, my body stalls, and i cast/flip
there are like no videos on YT for faults like this. just a thought
