    Probably the first time Dr Phil has ever had a guest on who wasn't deluded about their creative abilities, but was actually talented and just genuinely struggling to overcome their anxiety and depression.
    He seems like a nice guy and I really hope he's able to pull through because, from what I can see, he doesn't have a bad attitude and he isn't defensive, he's just a bit lost. Speaking as someone who has struggled with similar depression and anxiety and has had those days and weeks where getting out of bed and finding work was a struggle because you couldn't face the failure you feel that you are (it's not always as simple as "he's being lazy" which a lot of people seem to believe, sometimes this can be a sign of something else and should be taken seriously), I completely understand what he's saying.

      it what manner is he remotely talented? again: produced nothing. this is why he has no job. a creative individual with talent produces works and acquires money to fund it. if he isn't willing to make the base agreement that he is on level with all humans, that he does not deserve to be the leader without application, he deserves nothing.

    • @martincurran4985
      @martincurran4985 Před 2 lety +3

      @@triple_x_r_tard I couldn't agree more. He needs to motivate himself and go out and work. I'm of the belief that an art (say music or design or dancing) is only a hobby until you can use it to actually earn a living. In the meantime, YOU MUST WORK. You have to go out and try and get a job and earn a living because that passion isn't going to suddenly pay the bills.
      I will admit, his depression aside, I'm disappointed that he seems to almost look down on the 'average joe' job as something beneath him. It's not beneath him. No one starting at the bottom is beneath any kind of paying employment. You have to suck it up and work your way up. If nothing else, it teaches you a lot about how to deal with people and what is expected from someone who wants to call themselves a professional.
      I know a lot of people who call themselves "actors" or "musicians" or "artists" but all they do is collect welfare cheques and spend their days avoiding getting jobs on the excuse that their calling is in the arts. I really hate when people use art as the excuse for their laziness like that.

    Ten years ago I had a dream IT job, worked for 6 years straight, burned out epically, alcohol, to "cure" the stress, things got worse, extreme anxiety and apathy came into my life despite I had it all, money, respect. Health declined rapidly.
    I left my dream job, here I am, unemployed for 10 years, in constant search for the ultimate internal body and soul cure, I tried many things, drawing, woodworking, sport helped me a lot, I got into swimming and calisthenics, trying to eat healthy, and I maybe had 2 beers in the last 5 years.
    But there is this black hole of emptiness and unfulfilled ambitions, there are days I feel worthless and miserable, but I keep moving, maybe one day I will find my purpose and place.

      Alignment. Do this and you'll feel much better forever. To get in alignment means to get healthy spiritually, mentally, and physically in that order because before anything happens physically it must first happen spiritually. It takes 10,000 hours to master something which is about 3 years of life. The amount of time Jesus trained his disciples. After 3 years of working on yourself, everything will be awesome. A future job for example will actually align with who you are.

I understand him because It's relatable to me, i dont have a job, everyday disappointments. The anxiety. The depression. People think that it's an just a "depression" anxiety" but it's not! It is a serious Condition. And.. you can't just say oh "it's okay" it doesn't have to be like .. it doesn't always have to be cheerful you cheer them because they are sad or something. Sometimes, He need, I need, we need someone to ignite that lost flame inside our souls. Some people always says it is lazyness, we're in denial. We're making EXCUSES. Some people don't understand it is not excuses. You cannot just say "fix yourself!" .

I got a proper start / a proper job when I was 33 (I faked all the aforementioned years where I did nothing thanks to a friend who's got his own business and made me a work certifcate and references, basically untraceable where I live, in Europe. Not exactly proud of it, but it was the only way to get recruited), and 10 years later I have my own business, I employ people, and I'm doing really well. I guess the experience made me way less judgemental than many out there, I feel like I turned that pain into kindness. There's always something positive to learn from painful experiences.

    -I’m laughing and questioning at the same time! The thought of it though, not the situation because it is kind of sad.

    He is aware he has issues why is he not getting proper medical treatment? Parents refuse to accept he has these problems the guy even refers to "mania and depression" sounds like he has PTSD issues as well. Get him some help instead of worrying about your image as parents.

      As you know there's no such thing as 'proper medical treatment' as the current medical system is outdated, racist and outmoded. To base healing on harm makes no sense yet that is the normal right now. So is it more sane to be a part of that system or not, and in what capacity? A question every person must discover and embrace for themselves without the peer pressure or unsolicited opinions of others. 😊😊😊
