  • Hey guys in this video I recorded Oakland A’s fans chanting “sell the team”. They do that because they have a bad team and there moving to Las Vegas soon and the fans want to stay in Oakland. It all started about mid to end of the 2021 mlb season and the A’s had a good team but they were loosing games a lot. They also made the postseason the year before in 2020 but they lost to the Houston astros in the Alds. In the wild card they played the Chicago White Sox and won. So in 2021 they finished 86-76 with a winning record and 10 games over .500 but they didn’t make the playoffs. They also finished in 3rd place and in 1st was the Houston Astros in 2nd was the Seattle mariners in 3rd was the A’s in 4th was the Los Angeles angels and in last place was the rangers. I don’t really know why they sold in the offseason but there gm wanted to do the “money ball way” where they trade there best players for top prospects and those top prospects will turn in to superstars and that’s how the A’s where good in 2013-2019. In the 2021 offseason they traded Matt Olson to the Atlanta braves Matt Chapman to the Toronto blue jays and sean mannea to the San Diego padres. In 2022 they weren’t any better in last place at 60-102. On that team they had one last good player and it was there catcher Sean Murphy. The A’s were going to trade him in the offseason but they didn’t know what team. There was rumors he was going to the St. Louis cardinals because they lost there catcher in yadier Molina who retired. The cardinals didn’t get Murphy instead they went to go get the best catcher that was a free agent and signed Wilson contrares. The A’s ended up trading Sean Murphy to the bullpen braves for some prospects. In 2023 there best player was probably estury Ruiz or aladays Diaz and Ruiz was a rookie and Diaz wasn’t that good. In 2023 so far they are even worse then 2022 in last place of the Al west and there record is 31-80 as of August 6th. The “sell the team” chant’s started when the A’s announced they were moving to Las Vegas in may. And in June A’s fans started making shirts that say sell and they go to A’s games pretty much to chant “sell the team” . A’s fans are also making signs saying stay in Oakland and stuff like that because they don’t want to go to Las Vegas. And this weekend the San Francisco giants went to Oakland to play the A’s and they were chanting “sell the team” multiple times during the game. I recorded one of them when they were chanting “sell the team”. A couple weeks ago the A’s went to San Francisco and in the 2 games they played both of them were A’s fans chanting “sell the team” during the game.

The owner, John Fisher, deliberately made the A's into a bad team. So, the fans are chanting _"Sell the team"_ because they want a *better owner* for the A's. And who's also committed to staying in Oakland.
