- The Minolta X370 is a perfect film camera that shoots infinite film, even if the film prices have gone up, there's no getting away from the real vintage look. Not even the fujifilm x100v #fujifilmx100v can replace that.

just remember each shot comes out to about 60 cents whether it's good or not after developing. and that's if you go with cheap film.
that's why I end up shooting both digital and film, film for my enjoyment and digital for work so i can fund shooting more film haha.
omg thank u. no one in the internet photography community has ever talked about how expensive film is. really enlightening shit here, nick.
my gf is in art university and there's a room for development, so i am having it for free lmao
❤Ephesians 6:10-18 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. The bible is no old book. You have to really let Christ open your eyes; to see the world in shambles. Many people say it's a religion to lock up people in chains, and say it's a rule book.. why? Because people hate hearing the truth, it hurts their flesh, it's hurts their pride, it's exposes on what things have they done..people love this world so much, s*x, money, power, women, supercars.. things of this world. Still trying to find something that can fill that emptiness in your heart. You can't find that in this world.. only in Christ, the bible is no chains, it's a chainbreaker. Breaking your sins into pieces... Repent now, and turn back to the true Lord only.. God bless.

Film looks so good! I just bought a hopefully working film camera for $2 and I cannot wait to start taking some pictures
cheap to buy; expensive to use
@@Leah-ju8ht yeah the camera works but I now have 4 rolls of film to process and just don’t want to because of the price lol
Minolta X series is so underrated, would heavily recommend to any newbies looking to get into film
Could you please name me a few other cameras similar to this one ? I am clueless.
@@MeroFTP Sure! Minolta X-700 was Minolta’s latest of the range. Has all the bells and whistles you need as a newbie: aperture priority, exposure compensation, timer, stepless shutter speed, light meter. It’s also lightweight. One thing to mention is it’s electronic, so you can’t shoot without having batteries in, which is bad because the X-700 is known to fail due to it’s diodes, however I haven’t encountered this problem so if you’re going to get one, get a recently serviced one!
Others also say the X-500 is better since the light meter shows which shutter speed you’re on, as well as what the recommended shutter speed is, whereas the X-700 only shows the recommendation.
I recently bought a Minolta SRT 303b (202 in the US), which is Minolta’s previous range to the X line. The SRT range all are fully mechanical cameras, so you wouldn’t have to worry about failing electronics. Built like tanks and considerably weighs heavier than the X-700. What’s good about Minolta is that they made so many great lenses, so there’s an abundance out there for cheap! The MC and MD lenses are compatible for the SRT range and X range, so you can buy one set of lenses and interchange between both cameras.
If you’re looking for other electronic cameras that aren’t Minolta, look for:
- Canon AE-1 Programme
- Nikon F2 / F3
If you’re looking for fully mechanical cameras that aren’t Minolta, look for:
- Pentax K1000
- Olympus OM 1 / 2 etc.
As a newbie, don’t get caught up on getting the most expensive equipment, although Minoltas are cheaper it doesn’t mean they suck! Have a browse on opinions on Reddit and CZcams, and pick a brand you like. Minolta is great because they’re cheap and have great lenses!
@@MeroFTPsame
@@MeroFTPI use an xg-1 and while they are very nice cameras, they are electronic and mechanical systems integrated together. X series minoltas need batteries that may be hard to find, even the shutter is electronically controlled. and the electronics are prone to failure due to age, while a fully mechanical model like the SRT series would shoot infinite photos as long as the mechanisms are in working order
@@MeroFTP Pentax K-1000
This is why I still have the X-700 that I bought new in 1982. I have never picked up another camera that feels as natural in my hands.
I just got a x700 I love it!
I don’t know what it is but that look of film or film like photos are just so much more moving than anything else. Digital is cool but it’s just not as captivating.
I owned an x370, and both capacitors ended up frying it for unknown reasons. I got another one with two lenses, flash, and external cable release for about 50 bucks. Working fine so far. Love these little things and they are CHEAP. in the back of my head I hope it doesn’t fail again tho
I'm really glad I bought my Minolta XG-1 before COVID dude.
I use to shoot 10 rolls a week in the 90s and early 2000s. Could never do that now. My digital is good enough and gets great results.
Any suggestions on digicams which actually give a vintage and retro like images?

Don’t you think for a second there that film photography is cheap 😂
I wasn't sure if I saw the Austin skyline so I watched it again....then my suspicions were confirmed when I saw the Malone truck ☕️
ooo i got my x-370 from a family friend and now i have a ton of filters for it and i use it everyday for my photo class, it’s my favorite camera ever, and i pretty much only have vintage minolta stuff so i have like 3 lenses for it
I shoot through a 36-roll in like a month. Its a OK cost 😅 And always get hyped to see the results!
Yeah 36 exposures seemed like not enough at first but i find myself struggling to go through a whole roll while keeping the photos interesting
yes it really makes you think twice or thrice about your shots

I love film photography but it’s so damn expensive that I only can afford to shoot on special occasions.
I’m in my late 20’s and it takes me back to an era I never really had the opportunity to experience. Love the nostalgic shooting experience of shooting film and the film look.
That's a simplistic and pessimistic view, not only of "nostalgia" but also young(er) generations. No need to look down on people :) @@phillipbanes5484

what film stock did you use?
Recommend me some film cameras under this range i want one in my area.
"Ten people died last night in the Bronx due to a fire that killed ten people in the Bronx last night during a fire"
No camera shoots infinite photos. I feel like that would break the laws of physics
Ship of Theseus with full mechanical cameras 🧐
I'm really getting sick of "photographers" recommending cheap cameras and saying it gives a "film look" when all the matters is the editing
It’s literally a film camera… it shoots film, and have the “film look”, cause it’s a film camera
Reminds me of Austin tx
Did u use any edits or raw footage
How are you able to upload your pictures? I’m new to cameras and I have the Minolta x570 but I wanted to know where I could download my pictures I take
My local film lab Lago Vista Film Lab develops and scans the negatives so I get a folder on my email with them 🤙
what u think bout canon power shoot A80 2003
$50 ??
When?
All day every day as long as you look around and stay away from the camera models popularized by influencers. There are millions of manual SLRs out there. No need to pay $200+ on an AE-1.
Better deals can be had on the 1980's, 90's, and early 200's era autofocus SLRs too, although someone might possibly not see you are a retro cool film photographer on first glance. I just picked up a Maxxum 70 for $35 the other day.
ayo is that Nico Robin from One Piece in the last photo?
I have a film camera but I don’t know where to get the film pics printed out
1959 el Camino!!!
What film stock can give me that effect?
Rokkor glass is the bomb and Leica contracted Minolta for their film SLR. Looks similar to Leica glass. shhhh.
So the colors are not edited right ?

If you want to recreate a film look without editing your images you can use an older ccd dslr like the nikon d40 d50 ... d200

So I have a quick question, how do you process the film because I want to get a film camera like that but don’t know where to go or how expensive the processing would be (dark room idk if I’m using the right terms)
Once you are done take it to a well known place to get it reveled
I personally take mine to a local film lab here in Austin called Lago Vista Film Lab. My best guess is too look around your area for the closest film lab and see if they do scans and development!
you can take a picture of the film and then edit it in lightroom if you want to have it digitally.
@@MakY19P3rU I guess it would really be something to celebrate.
Are these pictures the jpeg straight from the camera or did you edit them?
Those are film photos shot with film
Film plus development and shipping fees = the cost of that used camera each time to get the roll developed. Lol. Started photography in 1988. Still going strong.

Are there any film cameras like this no more than $200 in new condition?
Not really. The only film cameras still made are professional and demand insane prices. Buying a used camera isn’t that bad. Many film cameras from the 90s are more similar to digital cameras and are easier to use because you don’t need to focus or set aperture or shutter speed
so i just got a film camera it’s a nikon n2000 (my first actual camera i’ve just been taking pictures with my phone) and i was wondering if you had any pointers, good places to shoot, and equipment recommendations (im in the atx area too)
Learn to take pictures.
@@PhotographyWithinfocus i am??? i was asking for tips and recommendations for spots and equipment???
@@BENJI66501 No trust me on this. You'd be surprised how much theory goes into taking pictures. Learn to use manual or aperture priority and learn to shoot and edit RAW pictures (which is harder than it looks). I made the mistake of spending on gear before actually learning to expose images properly and I suffered for it at first.
This is even more true if you are using a DSLR instead of a mirrorless system. I never knew how much math actually goes into taking pictures and it blows my mind even now.
@@PhotographyWithinfocus OHHHH ok im sorry i misinterpreted what you meant by that i thought you were being aggressive lmao and yeah i’ve been practicing a lot and trying out different films to use (i only shoot on 35mm) and my grandpa recently gave me his canon ae1 so i’ve been mainly using that instead of the nikon because it’s completely manual
