- Today I'm taking you in a trip to one of the most underrated cities in Germany - Freiburg im Breisgau, a charming and underrated city in Germany's Black Forest region. I will tell about the city's history, culture, must-see places, cuisine, and nearby attractions, including the picturesque town of Waldkirch.

This area of Germany is awesome. The cuisine, architecture, art, outdoors all stellar. I love Baden Wurttemberg.

- The small river is the Gewerbe Kanal.
- The Freiburg Cathedral dates back to the 12 century (1140).
One of the highlights of my trip to Germany….. taking the family back this fall

In Germany Freiburg is known as one the the most beautiful cities 🙂

Thank you for this video of Freiburg. It was very refreshing to see as it reminded me of precious memories. For a short span of time this was my home until I left June of last year. This place is already special enough plus too it will always be my first introduction to Germany and Europe in general (aside from the train ride from Frankfurt) I would also include seeing the houses of where people many years ago use to live at in the black forest as an area to visit too!

I am consider a stop here on a drive from the Frankfurt airport to Montreux Switzerland. Looks like a great place for a coffee.

We'll be there in December this year. We'll stay for two days but I want to see Triberg on one of those days. We think we'll rent a car for that. Otherwise we're on trains
Er passt die Zufahrtsverordnung an und scheidet die Kasernenstrasse aus der Kernzone aus, damit die Zufahrt zur Kaserne Basel weiterhin zeitlich unlimitiert über die Kasernenstrasse möglich ist. Notwendig wurde die Anpassung, da der Kasernenhof dem Geltungsbereich des Gesetzes über die Nutzung des öffentlichen Raumes unterstellt wurde, wie der Regierungsrat in einer Mitteilung schreibt.
Moved from Freiburg to Munich last year and already missing it :´(
Munich is a very beautiful city too, but Freiburg is somehow very special even for me as a tourist :)

Underrated perhaps by tourists, because Munich, Oktoberfest, Neuschwanstein, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Nuremberg...and that was then the "Germany" vacation, which actually was a vacation in Bavaria only.
No German underrates Freiburg. We love it!

@@danachill What's not to love there? Wedged in the forest, bike friendliest city, young inhabitants, much art and things to do, France and Switzerland close by, best climate in all of Germany.
France and Switzerland near? Always an hour or more to go using a highway A5 with always traffic jam! Bike friendly 🤮

May I ask what month you visited Freiburg? Was it cold? Did the sun come up at all? I'm asking all these questions because I'm thinking of moving there. However, I have vitamin D defficiency and I can't live in places with not much sun 😢

Thank you for the feedback! I visited at the start of the February and it wasn’t very cold actually, about 5-7 degrees, and there were a few sunny days. As far as I know, this region of Germany is one of the hottest ones and there’s most sunny days in the country😊

Freiburg belongs to my most beloved cities of all in GER! Speaking of the most underrated places - Frankfurt is by far my top choice to this category! I've been living here since 1985 - so please visit and find out yourself.....

Voll überschätzt ist die Schwarzwalds Hauptstadt ganz ehrlich. Die Innenstadt und ein großteil des Westteils der Stadt ist sogar sowas von hässlich...
