In this episode I’m running Tamiya’s beautiful replica of the Citroen DS. I wanted to move away from the dull box art look and give it a bit more oomph! As you can see I’ve given it the rally treatment, hope you’ll join me in checking this one out and let me know what you think. The 5% discount code for inside line models is in the description below ;)

tamiya over the top with their plastic know how, even the wheels, awesome, a classic
That looks a nice body, and your paint job makes it look great!
Andrew Cowan nearly won the London - Sydney marathon back in ‘67, but he was taken out by a local motorist driving in the opposite direction when the road was closed to the public. Very suspicious circumstances…
Cool, thanks!
God I love that anodized blue color ❤️
That really is great looking body shell.Good call giving it a rally look.👍😎
Glad you like it cheers for checking it out :)
You crushed it with that body Andy. Love it! Really cool
Really love your body pal. Dont let tamiya copy it . ( the rc body i meant )🤣
Why thank you ;) to be honest I’d be quite flattered if Tamiya copied it. Cheers for watching
I think that color matches the body perfectly. Very nicely done! 👍👍
Love the look of this car. Great color and looks so real bud. Happy Summer friend.
Thank you 🙏 that’s much appreciated and I’m glad you like it , take care Luke :)
You're not having much luck with that MB01 are you?😆 I quite like the look of the MB01 chassis, it's a bit of an oddball, but in a good way I think. And that Citroen DS bodyshell looks fantastic, awesome job mate!!
That looks lovely, Good Job!
Looks awesome, great color and nice idea with the decals 👍🤝
I like what you did with the body Andy, it turned out really cool. I am sure those rear roofline stickers were a paint to get on and to keep stuck down. Suck it seems to be fighting you a bit and the gremlins keep knocking parts loose. Hopefully the pinion is the last of it! Take care my friend and have a great week!
That does look the business, well done my friend 😁👍
Much appreciated and I’m glad you like it :)
Very nice Andy and I like it handles like a fwd too
Ha ha it certainly does it’s pretty stable as well
Hi Andy, I like the way that car looks. I have only ever seen this car in the movies. I live in the USA and those cars are just not here. I do have the other Tamiya Citroen Charleston car. Those cars are also not in the USA. Thoughts?
What a beauty!!
Wow that looks brilliant Andy 😍 very nice dude well done you’ve captured the look perfectly.. goes well. maybe add some leather style bonnet straps.. it’s a shame Tamiya didn’t do clip on type body shell so the roof and bonnet clips aren’t showing..Pete 👍😊
That body and paint look great
Thank you much appreciated:)
I think it works really well as a rally car. 👍
First car to have active headlights that steered with the wheels ..
Tucker had it first.
I don't know why you're so surprised at it breaking down so often. It is a Citroen after all. 🤣
The body is stunning by the way. 👍
I wonder if it'd fit my mf-01x chassis.🤔
I've already got the rally beetle and the mk2 escort bidy shells for it.
Love it, that's bloody amazing
Cheers :) it seems to have hit a sweet spot with people for this build , everyone loves a rally car though ;)
Beautiful.!! 👍 👍 👍
Technically it would be a ID as it had the fixed headlights. It was intended to have a 6 cylinder motor (flat 6 ?)
I'd be tempted to paint the silver around the windows. Trim the overspray film and spay silver. Looks killer though boss! Love it.
Cheers , I did consider that but I didn’t have any silver paint but it’s a good idea I’ve done it before as well :)
Cant beat a rally look to a classic car, seems have a decent amount of turn in ? If turns like that on track it will deffo of helped you beat the 4wd boys 😁
Cheers Richard , the wide front track definitely helps the turning circle, I may run it against the 4WDs to compare it. I love the body on it it’s been done very well
Looks mint pal 👍🏻
Cheers Steve much appreciated, glad you approve :)
Très beau Andy.
Cheers Dave thank you very much
That's a lovely looking body Andy... good work.
if thered be some more proper for the car suspension id buy this and the cv for more than twice the price instantly... now it just feels like a body and not much else
nice body color👍👍👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Tamiya need to stop putting friction dampers in their kits
They do ! I keep having to change them out
It's a shame you can't drive it in a more scale like manner.
Yeah that would be good , I could try it out see what happens if I get time, would look better a bit like Matteos videos
Sorry I prefer the box art.
That’s ok , I just thought it was a bit dull I think they should have gone with a lighter colour
@andyrobinsonrc2480 Back in 1955 and that was made. Those were proper colors for them.
Terrible kit. Scale is way off and chassis for this shell is way to short it looks awful with the rear wheels leading edge protruding into the rear door. The proper scale would be 257mm chassis I will try to extend mine as it absolutely hideous the way it is!! Also get 12mm front axle hubs to push the so called wide track joke wider !! I called TAMIYA USA and their official statement was yes we see what are you saying!
far too fast for style of the car
Yes I agree with that maybe I should do another video at a much more sale speed ?
Love it Andy! Looks on the money as a rally car
