Certainly different to Australia. Here our ambulances are Sprinter vans so can be driven on a car licence. If you need to get a LR or MR (Light truck to 8t or medium truck over 8t with two axles) then the ambulance service will put you through their own course at no cost to the paramedic.
The ambulance a 5 tonne van is classed normally as n1 do you need a c1 for a n1 I have a 5 ton ambulance with n1 on logbook so can you drive it on car licence?
