Damo recommends clapping over your head with straight arms when first attemping to Pump. I found this very helpful as it forced me to really unweight the board on the Up stroke. Keep the Tips coming!
Sorry, I don't foil yet, but I think I had learnt from another vid that the way the foil works is actually the counter intuitive situation where dropping your weight through lift after the compression is actually what gives the foil a moment to 'sink', ...and so it's the compression of the foil part along with sufficient forwards motion that actually squirts it up and gives it the lift!?!?. Weird, but I now imagine giants running and jumping onto airplanes once there up to speed along the runway, to pump them airborne...
