Thanks Ben, for helping these musicians over the hurdles so that they might express that love so that we can also bathe in that - our - love. Weiterhin, gute Besserung. Love.

The camera and audio people did a wonderful job capturing the very best quality in this production. So many nice close ups! The concept of lifting up the listener into a state of anti-gravity! How moving the tempo just slightly can make a huge difference. The idea of expectation, waiting for the theme to come in. The idea that players should inspire each other to raise the bar by playing even better, by setting an example themselves. How everything in the music is alive, and is saying something. The "Drowning Fish" idea done my a pianist that is 99 years old when he softens music passages! Wow! Music composed with a surprise referring to Beethoven's compositions. The fact that almost all classical music starts with a heavy down beat, with exception, I believe Ben said a piece by Mahler. I know Ben wears many hats in what he is doing but I think we could add that he is a great showman too!

All three students IMO actually played their opening performance well, as students. No bad sounds. But it sounded obligate or on auto-pilot and lacked "soul". Then Zander started to teach them interpretation and performance and it speaks to the students' level that they understood his teachings and were able to perform his vision of the interpretation, or at least make a begin with that.
If there is one thing with these students, then it might be that they need coaching on another level than they have had so far.
Watching at home from the other side of the world, this gave an ear-to-ear smile on my face for about 40 minutes.

This "Short" popped up with me through the algorithm, by Garrick Ohlsson [czcams.com/users/shortsbDzzS9bKqJo] where he plays Chopin Nocturne Op. 27 #2 in a Haydn/Mozart style (but still all the notes that Chopin wrote) "as a bad joke" and thus illustrates interpretation very well. Not playing the wrong notes versus making music.
The funny counterpoint in this illustration is that Chopin (don't remember the piece) in one of his compositions has a couple bars that are a short fugue that however does not sound like a fugue if you play it Chopin style.
