- The market has changed and there are deals to be done on new & used caravans.
This is because the demand has dropped in recent times and the used market is full of quite new caravans.
With this in mind we set off to Greentrees caravan store in Norfolk to see just what we could pick up up for a budget of £25k. We were impressed by the selections of available stock and the spring offered currently available from Greentrees, checkout the link to their website.

We were looking at 4 berth middle sized caravans and specifically with a transverse island bed and we were not disappointed.
We hope you like this video and do not forget to subscribe to the channel for more caravanning content.
Best wishes,

Hi guys. Many thanks for your visit and tour around the site recently.
We have today sold a caravan off the back of your video, so would like to give you a thank you for it.
Please contact us for us to be able to make these arrangements.
Dan 👍🏻
Fantastic news 👍
Great video, it’s becoming a buyers market now. We really liked the Sterling 580, very nice caravan. Lovely to see Helen out and about too. Keep up the good work. Steve & Chris 👍
Glad you enjoyed it Steve & Chris and thanks as always. Buyers market for sure at the moment. Best wishes, Helen & Dave
We almost let our hearts rule our head on this visit! Really like the Sterling Elegance 580 👍
A lovely caravan, but we don't need to be changing Jennifer just yet.
Your a top man / couple who looks after things so well if you can afford it get it you make amazing use of your caravan and make brilliant videos mate 👍🏻
Hi Helen & Dave , wow that Sterling is stunning and you can just see it’s well made and sturdy .
The Bailey also nice but feel the Stirling is in another class.
I’d find it hard to resist that one ,Vicki x
Hi Vicki, must say, it's a wonderful van and looks to be in great condition, good bodywork too. Nice to window shop isn't it. Take care, Helen & Dave
Very comprehensive look around Dave and Helen 👍. Out of these two we would go for the Bailey and have an Omnivent fitted 😁. All the best, Rob & Gail 😀
Morning Rob & Gail, thank you both. Some deals to be had for sure and the Bailey was also a really nice van, similar to our friends Bailey. Just watched your Eye Kettleby Lakes blog again as we are booked in on pitch 26 😊. See you in the next one. Helen & Dave 👍
Thanks for the video... even though where not ready to change we really enjoy these looks around the caravans... always find it interesting to see the different makes and levels and it helps to keep up to date with the market... cheers... Dave and Jane 👍
Hi Dave & Jane, we're the same. We like to see what's different about some of the other caravan models. We really liked the Sterling. Thanks as always, Helen & Dave
Hi Helen and Dave. Great video. Some great caravans and prices. Thanks for sharing. Paul and Sarah
Hi Paul & Sarah, thanks, some great deals to be had if you’re in the market. 👍
Good to know that there are bargains about, our friends will be looking very soon. They had their lovely caravan stolen at the end of last year. He has been away for four months sailing in the Clipper round the world race but is back this week. It looks like a good time to buy.
Hi Sandra, they must be gutted to have had a van stolen, that's terrible! How exciting to be sailing around the world though, wow! Yes, I think it's a buyers market at the moment. Best wishes from us both.
Great video, I agree prices are dropping
Yes they are Steve, some deals to be had and also some really good almost new caravans for sale just now. Thanks for watching. Helen & Dave
Hi Dave and Helen, very informative vlog. It's interesting how the market is changing from where we've been in the last couple of years.
We're not in the market for a change of caravan at the moment but the Sterling 580 does look very nice indeed. Cheers Terry
Thanks Terry, we found it interesting how the market has changed too and agree with you, the Sterling is a lovely caravan. Best wishes and thanks as always, Helen & Dave 👍
Hi Dave and Helen, funny this video popped up today, the very same day I've started looking at the possibility of upgrading ours to a fixed bed.
All the best and safe travels, Neil
Hi Neil, it’s a sign 😊 If you’re seriously looking, then there’s some great offers out there just now. ATB, Helen & Dave 👍
Good bit of info there, so thank you
You’re welcome Patricia, and thank you for watching. Best wishes, Helen & Dave
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it Helen and thanks as always, Helen & Dave
Hi Dave and Helen, really enjoyed the tour around the caravans, you can really get a van for a good price at the moment and dealers seem to have so many to sell. The Sterling 580 looked very elegant, nice colour scheme and very well set out. Take care x Julie and Tony x
Hi Julie & Tony, the tides seem to have turned a bit now. Deals to be done if you’re in the market. We really liked the Sterling. Heart v Head time though 😊 Safe travels (wherever you may be 😉) Cheers, Helen & Dave 👍
😉
Hi . Some good caravans. Hard to believe this time 3yrs ago you couldn't find one. We're happy with ours its same layout as yours. Think bubble had burst. Not bin away for 3weeks . Hospital appointments. 😢. Helen looks in pain hope she gets sorted. Love to you both. Xxx
Hello Alison & Keith, thanks as always. It seems that the bubble has deffo popped. Buyers market maybe. You must have withdrawal symptoms lol. Helen is still struggling but remains pretty positive, thank you. We have a couple of nice trips to show you next time. Hope all is well, best wishes, Helen & Dave
Hello Helen and Dave, looks like a great place for looking for a caravan, prices have come down, but bear in mind so have the trade in price as well, thanks for your video, until next time take care, ❤👍.
@@busterboy7505 Hi Buster Boy, yes you’ve got that right! All relative at the end of the day. Hope all is well with you and yours. Happy travels, Helen & Dave 👍
Hi mate. A very good informational video.
Cheers Greg, thanks for watching 👍. Best wishes, Helen & Dave 👍
Thought you were in our van until we saw the transverse bed. Ours is a Phoenix 640+ with end bedroom. Still loving it. Having a G&T in it as we speak. Cheers 🥂
Hi Lesley, it reminded us of your van. Very nice! Hope you’re having a good break. Rumour has it there’s a heatwave coming 🥶
Hi Helen and Dave hope you are both keeping well catching up after a crazy work schedule with the election! Some great vans in the review and I am with Helen I like how sterling finish their vans off and love the big windows on the Bailey it’s definitely a buyers market and our local swift dealer Black Country caravans around the corner from us is busy all the time at the moment and lots of choice but new and second hand all the best to you both Daniel
Hello again Daniel, we loved the Sterling too but it was snapped up by one of our subscribers who we know will really enjoy it. More to come from the Luxury end of the market in another video soon. Cheers again, Helen & Dave
The Sterling Continental is very stylish, a cut above the Bailey.
Agreed! We were very taken by it. Someone is going to get a very nice van there! Thanks for watching. Helen & Dave
Hi Helen and Dave, have you ever heard of anyone putting a dishwasher tablet into the flush unit to clean it out ? cheers Jeff& Kaz
Hi Jeff & Kaz, not heard of anyone putting a dishwasher tablet in the flusher but it seems like it may work, we put them in the toilet cassette and it leaves no residue and it’s clean and fresh afterwards 👍
I used to work at Bailey Bristol. Terrible quality control, clueless managers brought up from shop floor no education and just bothered about volumes out the door to get their bonus. Their attitude is let the dealers sort the warranty issues out.
Hi Dan, many thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Quite disturbed to read this to be honest. Although they are selling 8k to 10k units a year, some would say, they must be doing something right. Thanks again for your insight. Cheers, Helen & Dave
@HelenandDave unfortunately, caravan buyers don't really demand the quality standards to make the manufacturers comply. Because the end consumers are, for the most part, happy to settle as they are passionate about caravanning. Don't get me started on the motorhomes! 😅
For the record I have a swift sprite dealer special alpine 4. Bought new in 2019. Over 6,000 miles, no issues to date other than some loose exterior wheels arch trims!
Hi dave and helen, love you vlog ...my wife showed alot of interest as soon as you showed us around the sterling continental.. wow ! She fell in love ..wine cabinet 😂 loverly decore, heated towel rail, door with a window.at the moment we have a 2018 swift sprite.we really like it because it has a few extras on it but i must admit you have my cogs working now especially at that price 🤔 what have you just done to us?🫣😂😂hope helens shoulders are feeling alittle better? Steve and paula🤗
Hi Steve & Paula, many thanks and interesting because our cogs are churning too. Lovely caravan. Stay tuned, Helen & Dave
Hi dave & Helen re what helen mentioned about long seats because there isn't no front storage box we love are pamplona
Very good point Paul, makes perfect sense now. Thanks as always, Helen & Dave 👍
Evening Helen and Dave,
Lovely to see what your money can buy.
Not a bailey fan as our old bailey had many issues and from what we read they still have them.
Damp being the main one 😢.
The sterling looked stunning for a 2017.
Nice to see Helen back out and about 😊.
One main thing though, neither caravan would make me change if we had your van, it still looks great 👍.
Take care both as always.
Paul and Joanne 👍 😊
Hi Paul & Joanne, always great to hear from you and we value your opinions and thoughts. Yes the Sterling was very appealing, must admit but we do like what we have and unless it was a very good deal, I think we would be staying with what we have (better the devil you know). Take care both, next week we have a site tour for you. Take care, Helen & Dave
@HelenandDave
Hi, thanks for the lovely reply.
Looking forward to your site review as always.
Would love to meet for a face to face meet up when we are at Incleboro in September 😊
P and J 👍
Have to say I agree..we looked at a Bailey a few years back and there was sawn timber under the bunk bed which kids would surely play with and get splinters...also the latches under the cupboards were just plastic strips and not proper robust catches .couple that with my friends pageant which was riddled ...hence why swift probably better IMHO ..but its all preference..
@danmiddlehurst6462
Hi, fully agree, our last two vans have been swifts and no problems 😊
@@Meggy6571 if we're around we can catch up. 👍
Hi Dave & Helen How many years water ingress does a Bailey have. As When You become the second owner of a coachman it goes from 10 to 6 years cheer Jeff & Kaz
Great question Jeff and one I don’t know the answer too. Didn’t realise it changed when sold on tbh. Something to explore further. Thanks, Helen & Dave 👍
Hi, I’ve just found your channel and am enjoying it . I would love to know what you use to make your map intro.
Hi, it’s an app called Travel Boast, thanks for watching. Helen & Dave 👍
Thanks
Hi Dave and Helen great video I popped up to hitchin caravans recently they were packed in like sardines with discounts of 2-3k during Covid the place was empty how times change
Cheers martin
Hi Martin, there’s a trend! Demand isn’t what it was and now it’s a buyers market. Thanks as always. Helen & Dave
Made a very big mistake after 30 years caravaning with 2 berth vans and brought a Swift Alpine 4 with rear loo, to take the grandkids with us and had to exchange within 10 months for Compass Camino, center loo with island bed for a good nights sleep without being disturbed. So keep this in mind with rear loo vans.
We personally like the transverse bed but it's all about individual taste and your point is a good one. Thanks for watching, Helen & Dave
Cocktail cabinet, check, fridge holds enough beer, check, heres the cheque.
😂😂😂 You didn’t even mention the ATC, Alde heating or motor mover. Guess it’s a question of priorities 👍 Hope you’re well. Helen & Dave 👍
Hi Dave and Helen, to be serious for a change, in all honesty, for us, the layout is key, ( as is price) our current layout is as the 580, we had a Sterling with that layout, which I always preferred and we have that again with our Adria. Loved the Buccaneer Bermuda layout, best by far, just could not convince ourselves to buy a Hymer group van for quality reasons. The other layout was the Adria Adora Tiber, king size bed did it, but delivery was an issue at the time we changed. Admittedly, some Adrias are missing some desirable features, although they have most of what is wanted and no caravan is perfect in that respect, you can add all the bits you want, the last bit for us is the solar panel, which is waiting patiently for a warm sunny period for me to fit.
From passed experience I wouldn't have another bailey .. bits falling off it was a brand new van I got rid of it and got a swift
Hi Charles, thanks for sharing, sorry to hear that. We hear so many mixed reports but we also like Swift/Sterling. Thanks for watching, Helen & Dave
Liked the video but i am not that keen on vans with no window on the door i find it makes it a bit dark inside maybe you could comment on this thanks
Hi Cameron, must admit, we also like to have a window in the door, you can also see who is knocking on your door before you open it! We had a guy knock one winter's night looking to borrow some tea bags!!! Thanks for watching. Helen & Dave
Also can you give me a tip when travelling should the cooker lid be up or down if up it could fall and break thanks
I was considering buying a bailey orion without a front locker but after doing my homework i discovered this van only accepts the calorlite gas bottle but unfortunately calor has made decision to discontinue these bottles i made enquiries and no other company does an alternative so whose going to buy a caravan you cant get gas for
Hi Cameron, thanks for leaving a comment. Have you spoken to your local Bailey dealer? There must be hundreds of Orion owners facing this issue so what are they doing as an alternative? Does the Calor 6kg propane not do the job? Worth investigating. Cheers again, Helen & Dave 👍
@@HelenandDave spoke to bailey and calor themselves told me theres not much they can do about it some companies may bring out an alternative in the future not a good advert for calor or bailey also have changed to flo gas as calor wont sell you a bottle unless you have a trade in thanks
2 minutes in you call out fridge vents in the awning. Personally not a problem but no mention of the silly 230v cable in the awning sticking out 6 inches. Come on Bailey sort it out
Not my favourite feature of a Bailey either but a lot of people clearly don't mind, Bailey sell almost ten thousand caravans a year! Thanks for watching. Helen & Dave
Quick question? Why would you want to turn your gas on and off outside? Just an honest question ❤
Belt & Braces for us. You won’t have a gas leak if it’s turned off at the bottle. We’ve seen a number of caravans burned to the ground, on sites and on the road and on each occasion, leaking gas was the cause. We are a bit paranoid but we turn the gas off unless we are using it. Cheers, Helen and Dave
From a gas engineer It will be fine. A small tiny lpg leak believe me you would smell it. Too many safety devices since we had a portable gas fire and black butyle black hose and thumb tap on the floor👍 ohh and not forget to put a new mantel on the gas light when arriving on site because old one would be smashed on the table 😂😂
