This is the best shore lunch video on You Tube by a long shot. Coming from a guy who loves catch and cook and shore lunch videos.
Thank you! Will be making a bunch more. Wanted to this last summer but we got hit with a fire ban and a shore lunch didn't seem the same if you couldn't cook it over a fire!
Nothing beats a fresh fish shore lunch cooked on a fire. Never get tired of it.
I don't know anyone that does!
Nicely done! I probably follow about 95% of what you showed, when I cook my own Ontario shore lunches each summer. I do need to get one of those fry slicers, and soaking the potatoes overnight is a great tip I would not have thought of. Good to see young guides showing the kind of enthusiasm you do--thanks for the tips and for the entertainment!
Thanks for watching and the kind comments! The fry slicer saves a ton of time and helps keep them all equal size to cook perfectly!
Top Notch. Lots of Tips like the Onion Rings and Soaking Fries and using Cardboard Lid. Thanks for Filming this.
Thank you, and thanks for watching!
Good Lad. Really enjoyed. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Best shore lunch presentation I have seen as an old fishing guide and cook VERY THOROUGH
Thank you very much!
Excellent video! I have never seen one like it. I'll be coming back to this one a few times. Heading to Ontario this Sunday for a week of Walleye fishing and your video will be the blueprint for my shore lunch! Thanks!
Thank you and good luck on your fishing trip!
Now we're talking, shore lunch Walleye! Yummy!!

Looks great!

Great video.....Awesome tips from picking the location, what to carry in your shore-lunch tote to the finer points of cooking everything. Well done and thank you.....
Thank you!
Very nice video sir! One of life’s greatest pleasures! The northern Ontario shore lunch ! 🇺🇸🇨🇦
Thank you! Looking forward to getting back out there and making more
Awesome breakdown of the perfect shore lunch! 👍🏼
Thank you! Only a few more weeks and we’re back at it!
Awesome info man Thanks
Thanks for watching!
Best shorelunch video by far 👏
Thanks!
Great Video, brings back good memories. I went to Canada for 30 Years for the secluded fishing and great short lunches. We only ate in camp if we were rained out.
Thank you! Hard to fry fish in the rain!
THe details though, thank you Daryl
Thanks for watching! Anyone can make a shore lunch but the fine details are what makes it special!
Food looks awesome! Semper Fi
Thanks! Nothing like a good shore lunch
Great video
Thank you!
Great video, awesome tips!!! Definitely should've watched this after supper tho... Haha.
Thanks!, hope you're not too hungry now
@@darylgilbertoutdoors hahaha that looked awesome. Definitely trying the onion rings next time!!!
@@LuRanOutdoors the onion rings are my favourite
That’s awesome! I gotta try the onion rings. Last year I took a can of smoked oysters and fried those in the left over beer batter… the whole camp loved them.
Sounds great!
awesome, my rookie mistake, I had lined cans of corn and beans. Not good, but the fries and fish made up for it.
Awesome, just bring a pot to heat them up in if you’re worried
@@darylgilbertoutdoorsright on, just an unpleasant surprise. Made your "shore lunch" at home for lent tonight.
Capt.Lee: Being the yankee transplant to Florida for years when I go inshore fishing for fun I still do shore lunches.
Have to bring my own wood and pile up sand for the grate though.
Capt.Lee:
By the way, when are you two going to get married?😁
Can’t beat a shore lunch!
As someone that only eats walleye and crappie, no other fish.(to fishy) This looked perfect! My home lake in tennesse has a lot of walleyes but I need to go on one of these guided trips
Definitely worth going to experience it at least once!
hope u won the lottery...xpensive !!!
Shouldn't have watched this so late... Might have to go fishing tomorrow! Great setup, well shot, nicely explained. Awesome job both of you! Did the yellow turtle get that first sacrificial 'eye?
Thank you! I believe he did
Great to see you using Louisiana's Tony Chachere's seasoning! Here in LA, we use it on almost everything!!!! Great video!!!! But you need more onion rings and thinner slices!!!
We prefer the thicker sliced one though
I agree. The thicker sliced onion rings are the Canadian way and they are much much better
Great video!! What brand/model is that frying pan? Been looking for something like that for a while now. Deep sides and long handle. Thanks and tight lines.
That one is paderno brand. Carbon steel
Looks fantastic but would leave the corn out for my personal preference. Beer battered Walleye, Fries, Beer battered onion rings & baked beans MMMMMMMM
Can’t beat it!
Love it!! Hey, what kind of pan is that??????
Paderno carbon steel , they are awesome
Great video! What do you do with all that oil after cooking?
Thank you, we re bottle it and dispose of it properly if it’s no longer any good
Great video, what do you do with the hot oil once your finish your lunch
Thanks, we normally bottle it and take it out for disposal once it cools down
Good question!
Your lab is collecting the firewood for you, so always bring your Labrador retriever folks!
He likes to be involved!
How about the inside coating of the cans? Read and seen other outfitters say they don't cook in the can because of the lining or coating. I know it saves space. Can't win nowadays 😕
Yea, everything will kill you somehow nowadays it seems!
Where do you get those large carbon steel pans?
Paderno makes and sells them online
What beer batter do you use?
Club house brand
I think Frank Kuiack would be proud of you.
Thanks, I just watched that documentary last night. Wishing I knew about him earlier I would have loved to spend some time with him and go fishing.
great video lake is? Cheers
Thank you. Yoke Lake, Ontario
9:38 😂
The best part!
What beer batter is he using? Anybody know?
Club house brand beer batter or club house English style fish and chips
And Richard’s red
@@JTCFC1 the best for beer batter by far
Dude!! Way to bury the lead. I want that plywood table you have on the tree. I fish the BWCA all the time and have to use my paddle or a rock for a table. I do bring a cutting board but trying to find a rock or something the right height is impossible. What’s your set up for the plywood table.
It’s just a small piece of plywood and a few 2X2 or even tree branches for supports. Takes 2 minutes to install and if you use the tree branches for supports there’s less un natural stuff to look at.
Fish on please .
Fish on the plate?
Are you an outfitting business?
This is at slippery winds wilderness lodge
Batter?
Club house brand beer batter or English style fish and chips
Your intro mentioned something. Was it boats? I swear it’s was boats.
Also. I’m Canadian. And you have a heavy Canadian accent when you mention boats
I don’t know what your talking aboot
Eh
BUT THE CHEEEKS !
No thanks! Not for me
@@oldgoat50 That's what everyone says
@@oldgoat50 not for me, but lots of guys like them!
What about da cheeks?!
Not for me!
Video should be shorter
I don't want it to be shorter
Stop trying to save belly meat and you will not have pin bones. You loose more meat doing that.
No you really don’t
