You guys catch the most beautiful fish. Love the videos.😊
Nice Laker !
Thanks
Is that the illusive 10 mm socket ? Lol. I could own 5 of them and never find a one. Cool content! I love the wilderness. It would be awesome to live that dream.
Thanks!
That place has Epstein written all over it
You're living a good life doing what you're doing. Getting to see a cool part of the fishing world!!
For sure
Looking at flying up next year- do you have a favorite camp among Arctic Lodges on Reindeer, Milton Lake Lodge and Wollaston Lake Lodge? Or any others that you like a lot? Thanks for doing all of this! Awesome to see all your content- it’s really interesting and entertaining!
Thank you! Honestly all depends on what you want to target fish species wise, the total overall experience you’re looking for, budget l, and willingness to travel ( multiple flights, or drive etc)
Crow duck and its surrounding lakes are beautiful
Some awesome lakes around that area!
Yes! You guys got beautiful country up there
Well i baught a camp fixing back to what it was running power to it cleaning trees and brush one thing the previous owner said there some people never left so looks like im going have some spirts😮lol these days it might help😂😊
There’s always some sort of ghost stories around these camps from days ago
Im looking for a place just like this to get this reborn can u send me a link me and my partners would like to fix it up maybe turn it into a luxurious retirement home
It’s pretty remote, would definitely be a place I’d retire but not sure the location would suit the needs
It wouldn't take to much money to get thst place up and running again so many different versions of power now solar panels radiant hot water heaters 😊
Yea it wouldn’t be too bad
Sad to see all that trash left behind. If you go out of business at least do it with class.
I don’t think that exists much anymore
Been watching you and your wife fishing recently, awesome hope your endeavor in fish lodge goes well
Thanks
Does he mention how deep?
That vise in the boat house should be rescued.
It should
About to retire end of this year, sign me up!
👍
Crazy! Lee Anderson from Brainerd was my neighbor growing up. He used to go up there and fish and hunt all those backcountry lakes. And now I do! I’ve literally driven past hear and not known it was there. Kewl video! Thanks!
That’s crazy!, thanks
Good job! Appreciate you taking us on a memorable tour, thanks
Thanks!
That's a nice island spot and looking forward to seeing the renovation process!
A cool spot for sure, going to take some time but it will be good!
Looks like really cool area and lots of fishing potential. Is it mostly trolling for lake trout? Any fly fishing opportunities? I watched 3 different videos of yours and I'm wondering why these camps are so rough, meaning not maintained? The abandoned one was sad and the others seem neglected.
Trolling , jigging, definitely can catch them on the fly aswell along with the pike. Just the old owners getting to the end of the road and not putting money back into the places or just not willing to do the work anymore really
How do schedule a visit next year?
Give bakers narrows lodge a call www.bakersnarrowslodge.com
Wow..very cool place
For sure
I did a lot of work in Southeast Alaska and rode in Beavers many times, Otters too. Talk about workhorses, I'm 75 years old and rode in planes older than me that are still being used and I'm sure will still be flying long after I'm dead and buried.
It’s crazy how long they’ve been used for and will continue to be!
Gonna go on my bucket list for sure! Good luck getting her all pertied Up!
Where are you guy’s located?? And is the fishing 🎣 good!!!?
This is kamuchawie lake on the Saskatchewan Manitoba border. The fishing is unreal for lake trout, walleye, and pike!
What a waist of a lot of hard work. The government should have been more proactive to stop the place from being a dump. Now it's a worthless dream.
They are the ones who actually own it now and priced it way out of reality so nobody would touch it when it was salvageable. So we can blame them for another thing
Another interesting video, looks like great fishing! Are you working on two camps? Keep us updated on your progress, thanks!
Thanks , the fishing is amazing. This one is a second camp about 10 minute boat ride from the main camp. We will be working on both in due time but definitely not all at once
It’s too bad that camp isn’t yours. Oh well maybe some day.
Yea , maybe one day
15kw solar.
That would be great but not sure how it would work in the winter. About 6 hours of daylight
Hello. I just found your channel (new subscriber) and from Saskatchewan! I dream of land like this, so naturally I will follow along with your progress. I'm not sure if you mention it in other videos, but is this your land?
It’s not mine but the lodge I work for. It is deeded land yes.
Do you have an idea when you’re going to open for business ?
It is open now, booking enquiries can contact bakers narrows lodge www.Bakersnarrowslodge.com
Do you still have "Slippery Winds"? Fished there in 1976 to 1982 when it was run by Bob Hoffie (sp) flying in from Nestor Falls. Really enjoy all your videos and wish you the best with your new venture.
Thanks, we left slippery winds after last season. I heard the name Bob there a few times and saw a few photos of the place that had his name on the Slippery Winds sign. Who was flying in from Nestor falls back then?
@@darylgilbertoutdoors I do not remember the name of the flying service. If I recall correctly, Tinker owned/operated the service. A bush pilot named "Minnow Eric" delivered minnows to camp - landed/tookoff right in the bay. Hoffie said he and his plane had been pulled out of the trees a number of times. Great memories
Definitely have to try that, awesome and great video happy to stumble across your channel 🎣
Thanks, definitely worth a try… something different
You'll do great at this camp when your all finished! Looking forward to seeing the results..... go for it.
Thanks, lots of work ahead still!
Not sure if you got access to a brushsaw and harness but looks like the perfect tool to clean up fist sized diameter tress like the poplar and birch around camp can double to maintain trails, just don't ding to many rocks.
We had one just don’t have access to it right now unfortunately. Hopefully we get it back soon
Tons of potential along with one heck of a lot of work to go with it. Watching the videos it's hard to get a timeline on things. Are you hosting guests this year or just rehabbing the place shooting for the '25 season? Love the footage of the Beaver on floats, absolutely my favorite airplane of all times!
They are awesome planes, this has been ongoing since June 1st. We didn’t have internet for over a month. There are guests here from the previous owners commitments currently and throughout the season
Is this the Sandy Bay north of Pelican Narrows? Is Jacksons Airservice still going strong? Best of luck you guys!
This is north of Sandy Bay, a lake call Kamichawa starddles the border with Manitoba. Russel was an outfitter in Sandy Bay who had camps other places, I researched online. He might have been flying people in here, from Sandy Bay, my guess.
Yea that’s where his main camp was with the float base, this is approx 80 miles north of there on kamuchawie like mentioned
Interesting, nice area, used to fly in and out of Sandy Bay as a pilot for Parsons Airways Northern Limited. Dropped by on Jacksons a few times. Memories from the late seventies and early eighties. When does freeze up happen on average now, and break up? Cheers. Geoff Quickfall BSc, MSc, PhD candidate with 28,000hrs; DC10, B737, B757, B767, B777, B787, DHC2F, DHC3F, B18, C-185F (F=floats)

Good stuff 👏
Thanks
Thanks for the peek!
Thanks for watching
Do you guys own the lodge or just revamping it for someone just found your channel couple days ago very cool videos
Thanks, we’re running it for Bakers narrows lodge

15:00 minute mark lure is what we in the south call a mud bug
Awesome
👍👍👍👍👍👌Absolutely awesome brings back many memories of the fly in camps we went to………your enthusiasm and planing will give this camp a new life to your endeavour which I am sure will be a great success!!! Very enjoyable, well shot video, thanks for sharing!!
Thank you
SW of there a mile is some beautiful falls.
There is!
There is a similar place West of Thunder Bay and East of International Falls on main trans-Canada hwy. Common layout for many old fishing camps up there. Trying to be vague as I don't know the status of it and haven't been there in years. Best times I ever had in life. Generaly they had a small store in the main bldg and you could buy your permits there to fish too. Also milk, beer, stamps, postcards, etc. They'd have a loop about for boats and cars. A fish cleaning shack, and they would nightly take the fish scraps across lake with trash and burn in a barrel with gas and logs. Would love to have a place like this and run it. Water was from a tube to lake on West end always. Some are near railroads so you could rail-portage to camps. Some offered floatplane service too. At least doc pickups for boats/planes. Moose used to wonder in camp and they would take them on spotmfor meat for all Winter. Fun stuff! Ah the memories!
Lots of cool places like this around
What our family was taught in 1960's by native guides up in Ontario all over: Saltine crackers, Ritz or Club Crackers (preferably not generic, and full salt) in gallon ziplock bag. Use rolling pin or skillets to crush ultra fine. Use second ziplock and beat eggs. Filet fish, dry fish, dip in eggs, dip in cracker powder and fry on medium. Trust me you will never eat another way ever again. Needs no sauces either. Easy to get a hold of at gas stations or small town stores. Results in a cross between panko and beer batter. Please try it. Was how mom taught me.
What a shame for a place like that to be left to rot down ! ☮️❤️
For sure
Fellow 🇨🇦ian I came across your video from 8 months ago about the cabin and what a place that was at one time I'll subscribe and maybe come do some fishing with me son after seeing that Lake Trout 🦈 and I'm sure there's some monster in there waiting for me 🤔
There are some giants!
First vid I came across of yours was finding this place. I was thinking "man, it would be cool to renovate that!!" And, here you are...and now I am subbed!!! Looking forward to seeing the working product!
Thanks!
Very interesting!
For sure
