LOL - how do you propose to make it VTOL? Landing gear takes space used for internal weapons load & instrumentation pods. Landing gear adds weight & makes it need an airstrip - having 'airbags' is a feature not a bug - greater flexibility of use given it can be used anywhere that will take a shipping container.

This is what frustrates me - we spend 5.5 Million on a drone and someone else spend 25,000 on a drone that is winning a war. These defense contractors can't do anything under a million dollars, it won't fly with the investors.
But somebody is getting rich. That’s all that matters in the us isn’t it!
This is for the next generation of warfare. The one where they send more robots than people

Watching the rockets testing parts makes me just think how far behind the US is on rocket technology. Hape space X succeds in something but for now man its obvious its far behind.
