I absolutely love these treats, Paul. You are fortunate to be able to play so m any of these wonderful instruments throughout Europe, and we are blessed in that you take the time to share them, and your talent, with us. Thank you!!
Yeah it's really sweet stuff to hear your demos on so many huge organs. Must be paradise! . (I can't even get access to the mediocre pipe organ I played for several years). Keep it up! 😊
What a wonderful organ and sound. Obviously, it's got some tuning issues, but even so, what a sound! And, your playing brings it out beautifully. Thanks for demonstrating all these beautiful organs with your beautiful compositions! BTW, there is an Aeolian-Skinner theater type organ in Needham, Massachusetts that came out of a radio station. Besides having a "toy counter", It had a 96 note unit-style chest and free reed stop that speaks at 16' 8' 4' -- borrowed, of course! The console was powered by pneumatics -- lot's of them, and they used to fail all the time! That was in the 1970's. Rodgers Organ Company was called in to replace the console with an all-digital system (I think they included a Roland MIDI device as well) and to add some digital stops and an en chamade rear organ (both pipe and digital). I don't know if they kept the free reed or gutted it for space. The large chambers were packed with pipes and the full "toy counter" and if they had to put speakers and amplifiers in there, well.. I imagine some things had to go, to make room.
Thanks Paul that was great. Interesting organ built 1869 and very much in the Dutch/North German tradition to my ears where a requirement of the builder was to built an organ suitable for congregational singing which is a big part of the Lutheran style. A Roman Catholic church typically does not have such a tradition however in my experience communal hymn singing is seen in Catholic churches in parts of Belgium and the Netherlands. A few years ago I attended Sunday morning mass in St Baaf's Cathedral in Ghent mainly to hear its fantastic organ in use and I was very pleasantly surprised to find a large congregation and before the mass started a period of communal hymn singing being led by the choir master and they all sung with enthusiasm and with that organ and acoustic it was heavenly.
Paul, good morning. Wonderful instrument! You are a champion of inviting people to rediscover the beauty of the pipe organ. I hope you have many fans in my country - USA - where church music is not in a golden age. As always, many thanks. Andre
A very nice demonstration. The voicing on that organ is beautiful. I suspect it works on low wind pressure. It is bright without being forced. Thank you, Paul.
Hey, lieber Paul. Steffen.
Wunderbar! What a lovely Sunday morning experience to watch and hear this wonderful sounding organ from this beautiful Belgian church. It reminded me so much of a dear friend, who died last year, who would often accompany me as I worked on different photography projects. While busy with this, he would be playing the various church organs in the background (he had FRCO) which always fascinated him. I would often hear these different sounds, and stops in the background. A now lovely, and special, memory.
In Ireland cemeteries are often called "Churchyards". We are encouraged to visit our Churches if possible and I find it very strange to see a completely empty Church.
The problem is that there is only one bellow, so you have to use less stops. For example: using 1x4’ instead of 5x4’. So actually the wind supply gives to less wind.
love your section on the Hymn Praise to the Lord the Almighty the King of Creation. These instruments give you great scope to display your talent Paul. Another firne display.
I enjoyed the demo.... the tonal structure is very unique and quite lovely in its own way.... I did love the principle as it was perfect as to its tonal structure... I think of it as a belgium english diapason...
I'm always amazed at how wonderfully these smaller organs from the 19th century make music. And you bring out the best in them. I'm thinking you must have Austrian genes - you definitely like drei-viertel takt :) Gruess Gott
PS I hate A-440. Maybe the wind supply isn't up to handling the full tutti organ, making things sound a little flat? Nonetheless it sounds wonderful overall.
Hi, I regularly play this instrument, and yes, the wind supply is not fantastic. You really need to think “less is more”. For example: you have 4 times a 4’ stops and then you just use one of them.

Perfectly stated comment. Couldn't agree more.

What a delightful little instrument. A nice big voice without shouting at you.
Thanks Paul that was great.

I am not as knowledgeable about the Organ as some of the commentators, but I love listening to your videos.
Great video Paul. Wonderful sound. It reminded me a bit of the Victorian 'English' organ sound.
❤❤❤ that gives me the chills 😊

Altyd een zeer enthousiaste organist met blij makende muziek
Très intéressante démonstration. Très belles sonorités de cet instrument.
Merci et bravo 👍👍👏👏🎶🎶🎶❤️
What a glorious organ. Thanks for the wonderful demo.
I enjoyed this presentation of this wonderful organ more than 100 years old. The sound is very strong and distinctive. Thank you, Paul.
Thank you Paul for this moment of music!

Hervorragend Paul Fey. Ich bin begeistert von deiner Demo 👏👏👏
Vielen lieben Dank 😀
Hi @PaulFey , nice walkthrough for such a singular organ. Is the introduction based on one of your pieces, inspired on others or just improvisation?
Sehr sehr schön. Große Freude 👏👍👌
love that temperament!
Tolle Orgel, Super
Sehr schön gemacht. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Nice trumpet sound. Is it me or does the organ sound like it’s in need of a good tuning?
Thanks for the lovely demonstration, Paul.

I love it Paul 😊❤
Fantastisch !!!!
Nice organ not too far from where I live, less than a half hour drive.
The Euphonia sounds like one of those pump organs.
Yay!

Wonderful organ with great stops. Now granted my hearing aids are on backorder, but does the organ need some tuning?

Quick fun question: what is the funniest organ pipe you have ever played?
PS I hate A-440. Maybe the wind supply isn't up to handling the full tutti organ, making things sound a little flat? Nonetheless it sounds wonderful overall.

It’s a bit breathless when the full organ is employed. Fixing that would not be difficult but I’m sure the purists would not approve.
That’s true, but the tutti passage of the video is exactly there for that. Of course it would he easy to avoid double-registrations 😀

nice instrument, but needs urgent a fine tuning..... specialy the reeds...

Which religion do you belong to?
I‘m catholic originally, but I‘m playing in every church out there as ling as there is an instrument there 😀
@@PaulFey Okay, so you're Catholic but also play in other churches?
