Spent hours yesterday with Adobe agent figuring out why PS 2019 has been unusably slow since I downloaded it (I've been paying for it for a year and not using it). They renamed the old preferences file and started PS. It worked. Your tip is going to be extraordinarily useful as I'm sure I'll have to reset in the future. Thank you!

Good tip! Thanks again. One of the things that you can do periodically is to save your presets (brushes, curves settings, workspaces, et cetera). Go to menu Edit | Presets | Export/Import Presets. After a reset you can use the same menu to reset your presets. This one step, however, does not save extensions, actions and filters.

You can also delete this file ("c:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2019\Adobe Photoshop CC 2019 Settings\Adobe Photoshop CC 2019 Prefs.psp" ) Resetting the preferences will restore Photoshop settings to factory defaults. That way you don't loose your settings. It helped me more than once when PS suddenly got VERY slow.

Hi. Reset everything except, Gradient Fill Presets. Event resetting them did not work. I have umpteen folders under the drop down and duplicated. Even the solid grad is way down the list. I did the safe re-set and then this destructive tip. Still the same. Is there a solution?.

I'm having the same issue with neural filters I'm trying to do a factory reset a Photoshop so I can redownload them so that they will actually work. It's been weeks and nobody at Adobe has reached back after numerous emails and phone calls. Every Factor reset doesn't technically do a full reset either. I want a Dobby Photoshop to be like it was the very first time I installed it. I even uninstalled Adobe Creative Cloud Lightroom Premiere Pro and every other software off my computer and then ran a cleaner that I paid for just for this and I'm still not getting the solution

For some reason about a week ago right after a massive photoshoot that I did of went crazy to the point of uninstalling everything Adobe on my computer and then reinstalling it from scratch. But even after deleting the files and reinstalling it it does not let me re-download the neuro filters appears all the time like they're already downloaded in my system and I think that's what the problem is. Hopefully this will work!

This just removed the settings file. Not brushes, actions, etc. That will stay. But any setting you've set will be lost.

This just removes the settings file. Not brushes, actions, etc. Those will stay. But any setting you've set will be lost.
