i find it hard deciding whether to evolve my eevee into an espeon or leafeon in each game, they’re such classy designs.
If you need a sweeper, go Espeon, and if you need a offensive melee, go Leafeon.
@@monikatelescope9311 problem is i had a shiny eevee and really didn’t know which route to go... i usually picked vaporeon for most games but i typically went for my starter as my water type. got a shiny eevee and spent half the game not evolving it because it was such a hard decision. went with espeon in the end, even though that shiny is an eyesore let’s b real 🤠

@@monikatelescope9311 Leafeon is a sweeper as well, just a physical one rather than special like Espeon. Leafeon is a bulky sweeper as well, and can run special defense with assault vest, and will outspeed Espeon in the sun. Both are great options, but I'd say whichever is best depends on what you need for your team

I've always thought leafeon would smell like freshly cut grass if you hugged it and honestly, that headcanon alone is enough to make it my favourite.
It does according to the Pokedex! And furthermore, it smells like autumn when it gets old.
@@dobyk5338 I know we don't often see pokemon die in Pokemon games and there is not real guage for how long the lifespan of a Pokemon is, but I feel like owning a leafeon in the pokemon world would cause one to dread the smell of autumn because they don't want to be reminded that their pokemon is nearing it's end.
@@winchesters4life34 something even worse is that ninetales live for ~1,000 years/~10 centuries and the average humans lifespan is ~80 years/~0.8 centuries so ninetales go through at least 4 trainers
I think the nature of Leafeon's design as you described it, is part of what makes it a satisfying evolution for an Eevee. As with all eeveelutions, it really feels like you have a much stronger pokemon now.
I can imagine a kid playing their first pokemon game and going "He's so much cooler now!" After evolving into Leafeon. And at the same time, Leafeon still keeps the cute factor that drew you into eevee.
I actually really love Leafeon because of how simple and soft it looks. Like I'd be able to take him out for a walk in the woods and he'd be vibing with the plants and taking a nap in the sun to photosynthesize.
Also these guys are physical attack BEASTS. Do NOT get smacked by their STAB physicals, you will feel it and it will eat hp. Which says a lot when you consider that the Grass type is often a defense and health type over raw attack
hands down my favourite eeveelution. the green fur on its chest just looks like soft microgreens. yummy, soft and very petable at the same time. is petable a word?
anyway it looks exactly like the ethereal forest fairy the grass type eeveelution should look like i love it :)

My favorite part of leafeon is the brown paws that suggest that they were buried like roots it’s cute!
Everything about Leafeon just radiates innocence and cuteness, but those big brown eyes just melt me. My fave Eeveelution.
See I think green or blue eyes would be better - lean into the clear colour point cat theme in the paws and ears.

Leafeon has and always will be a personal favourite of mine even when it isn’t known by a lot of people, I had gotten a card of it way long ago and still think fondly of it although I did lose it I think, but it’s still the thing that helped me to know Leafeon. And I can’t help but feel calm and just smile a little at it sometimes. It’s a comfort Pokémon for me ☺️
one thing i really like about this design is that its paws are a darker brown than the rest of its fur. this hints at how it plants its feet in the dirt to gather nutrients, similar to how roots of real plants work.
Leafeon will always be up there as one of my favourite grass types, it's design is gorgeous and it's a really strong 'mon. Nothing to possibly clean about imo
To me, leafeon looks the most *alive* of the eeveeloutions (appropriately I suppose), as it looks like a creature that could be seen anywhere. And so much of its accents and details add to this idea, topped off with the pokedex describing its tendency to hang out in sun beams, not only calling to mind its more cat-like appearance, but also the fact it is indeed a plant!
While Espeon may be more subtle and sleek in its design, Leafeon feels more vibrant and alive. Both are great designs and are my favourites of the 8, but I'd rather a pet Leafeon than an Espeon

Fun fact, I read an eeveelution guidebook once that fully described Leafeon as being super mellow and dozing off all the time in the sun.
Canonically, it has the personality of a stoner. It really IS the original weed cat.

nah, it's shiny should be autumn colors. I know it's a common thing to ask grass types to have a fall themed shiny but it would fit so well. I've seen concept art. it's magnificent.

Since I played gen 4, Leafeon has been my favourite Eeveelution. It’s so cute, I love its Pokédex description, and it is a solid grass type!

I think you're selling Leafeon to me very well. I think it and Glaceon are very good looking but I normally stick to Umbreon or Espeon, cause I like them, and the fact they evolved through friendship is a bonus.

Of all the Eevee evolutions, I have always been drawn to Leafeon’s earthy colors. It looks like it would be the perfect calm companion that is happy to just sit on the back porch and watch the sunset with you.

.... what. it's shiny is literally just a slightly brighter shade of green. a big let down if you ask me. should have gone with orange on the leaves to give that fall coloring.
@@winchesters4life34 no its shiny gets slightly darker green leaves and a browner coat, it's not full autumn but it's got more intense hues like you would find at the start of autumn (although the leaves becoming orange would be nice)

Leafeon has been my favorite pokemon since gen 4. It has a very well meade yet simplistic design and feels like it's better at conveying its typing compared to some other eeveelutions. It also saved me in the cynthia fight with some insane crit luck.

I think Leafeon was the pokémon that made me fall in love with the franchise. I was pretty young when Sinnoh came out so I watched the anime a lot and Leafeon stole my heart lol. it's not my favourite pokémon, and it's only my second favourite eeveelution, but I still adore it

my favorite pokemon, it's so cute, pleasant to look at, and just a hilariously sturdy mon to use. 130 base defense and 110 atk on something tha looks so cute, dainty and gentle is just jokes and I LOVE IT.

Ok, so I do have to argue a little bit on litten's behalf. Their face is essentially the alchemical symbol for sulfur or brimstone. If we're talking straight forward design, ok yeah Litten just looks like a black and red cat. But I feel like any sort of symbolism is just as important as what we can obviously glance at

I'm late to the party. But honestly something about the wave-y-ness of it's features and colors almost always imagine it to be basking in some pillars of light from a forest canopy.
And the image in mind always makes it seem almost ethereal and beautiful, fitting for the concept idea of a sort of a forest nymph. A true spirit of nature.
