If you want real information. The Venom F5 engine is just a Corvette crate motor that they buy off E-Bay. They dont have a deal with GM. They buy them separately. Hennessey is a Texas tuneshop. Tuneshops do not create engines. Or cars. They tune Corvette engines.
The rest of this car is built in England by experts. But to American standards. So you never see one with number plates. Because its not road legal. No crash testing, no legal VIN / Chassis numbers, no OBJII, no FJSS, no NTHSA, no insurance & liability ratings, no federalisation, no emissions, no paperwork at all. This car doesnt even come with airbags.
Becaue its not a real car. The reason it doesnt have airbags is because then they would have to be responsible for the airbags deploying properly. Which would mean crash testing. Which would mean federalisation. They would have to be a registered car manufacturer that can legally make legal cars with legal VIN / Chassis numbers. And then they would need to own and operate a car factory with a production line... Which is a 100 million dollar operation.
So instead what they have done is call a race car company in England called Delta Motorsports that designed and built this car. And they hired 6 local boys in Texas that screw this car together in the back of their tuneshop. Out of wooden crates with MADE IN ENGLAND written on the side of them.
Nothing on this car is American. They dont have any engineers, or any technology. Hennessey does not have a design department. They did not build this. And while they are asking for Bugatti and Koenigsegg money for it, this is not a real road legal car in any possible way. The reason they dont have a deal with Corvette motors from GM is because GM does not want to be liable or mixed up in this.
And finally... It does not have 1850-something power. Thats only when they unlock a special "MODE" and use special alcohol-mixture bio fuel. And then they will let you do a couple of drags on a strip. You cant drive on that. So when you drive this car, it has around 1100 HP. Which is a lot, but far away from their big claims. Its just a Corvette engine after all.
