Do you use NAS? What gear do you have and how easy was it to set up?
Ross Jukes Photography I just received my TS453be and a TS431p. For now I will use Raid1 and utilize the 453 for my media server and 431 as a mirrored backup devise. I started with 453 and found it a little challenging. There was no good step by step setup. I set up my iPhone for practice and did set up QSync, all 60gb went easily to my 453. It went to a QSync folder namedCamera Uploads. Unfortunately my Plex account can’t see the QSync folder and my app won’t allow my to QSync to a separate folder. Same issue with Apple TV 4. The QSync folder sent showing up. So I’m just playing around and trying to figure it out.....
Have you made the folder a 'shared folder' if you have you then you have to give plex permission to access this folder
I use QNAP TS-453A with 4 Western Digital Red 8 TB drives. I prefer Western Digital over Seagate.

Hi, thanks for your video. Just bought mine with one disk for now, and then I'll get a few more the next month. I was wondering about the kind of volume I should create... As I want it to be safe later, like a RAID 1 when I buy my second disk, do I need to create a THICK volume or a STATIC volume. This isn't very clear to me. Thanks a lot for your response.
Hi, great question! A Static volume is certainly simpler but I'm afraid it's far more complex than I could answer here, I would strongly suggest doing a Google search and reading through some of the answers there will be a lot more detail and better explanations and as it's really important to get it right, I think it's worth doing the extra research! Good luck though and it's a great little NAS so I'm sure you'll love it!

I have just upgraded my TS-219 to 453be now. However, the mySQL isn't working properly as there are many question marks symbols on the website. I was told that mysql was replaced by sql Maria db. Could you please enlighten me how may I config the working php files to make the website behaves normally again? Thanks a lot.

is this one good enoug for 4k x264 and x265 mkv files with hdr hdr10 and dolby atmos and dolby vision without buffering and stuttering??.. hdmi in to the LG C7V UHD tv ?... is the remote controle include in the box?...
Hi, I've not used it for that 'exact' use case as I only use it as a traditional 'NAS' not a media server etc. However, depending on your current network setup, don't forget to check QNAP website for accessories as they provide a 10gb ethernet connection, additional RAM etc. I would also check which version f HDMI it currently supports. Yes, the remote is included in the box ;)

And my internet is fast here in the Netherlands. 40 up 500 down. And i want to use is for direct play not for streaming. Because my big pc i9-7940x and gtx1080 sli and 32gb ram as plex server to my 4k tv it buffers and stuttering like hell... so i was thinking this is the best for my home movie setup. It says it is for 4k x264 and x265 transcode etc... i got the package tomorrow. Hope for the best. I let you know tomorrow. 👌🏻😁
