- Filmed this time lapse and recorded my first play with the kit back in 2020 when I received the kit. Didn't do anything with the footage but figured I would upload it in case anyone is curious what the Tour Custom box looks like.

Had one of these and sounded great with a 20 kick in candy apple red. But the wood on the inside of the toms began to split. Also it had the annoying locking lugs.
Manufacture replaced it. However in the meantime I was given a stage custom to use. Fell in love with it. Ended up with 10, 12, 14 16 in Honey amber stage custom. Gave the store the new Tour custom and with the credit bought some crosstown hardware.
Intersting! I have had no issues with my kit thus far. Hope that continues for me
Great kit! Good choice! I have the same kit in apple red, but I ordered a 14 inch floor tom and a matching snare with it.

Funny story: When I ordered this kit I also ordered the 14'' floor and the 13'' tom. The kit came in the candy apple red but the add-ons came in the caramel satin that I ordered. So I had to decide between the caramel and the red. Took another week to get it delivered.
I chose the caramel obviously.

@@JimPauls That's weird that they don't. I keep hearing that you can buy toms. I do see shops on eBay selling kicks new but I guess there's nothing stopping them from parting kits out. You could find one there but shipping costs suck tho. I finally got a Stage Custom bop kit in Black I ordered. Literally the only one available in Canada for months. There's little stock of mid- level Yamaha instruments anywhere in N. America. I mostly get small ensemble jazz jobs so that's pretty ideal setup for me but I want a 20 for the odd times I do R&B. I love maple kits so maybe down the line get a tour custom kit too in fusion sizes since they are so affordable.. I don't like gigging really expensive kits any more.
@@JimPauls Was gonna mention to you. Apparently,Waxing bearing edges improves sound. I started doing this about 20 years ago. I use what most recommend Mother's Carnauba Wax. Popular car wax. I don't see why any car wax wouldn't work tho. Warm wax on stove and wipe light layer on edges only with any rag. Just a hack I like to pass on.

just ordered a apple color 4 piece on zzounds! I already own a stage custom kit(I LOVE DEARLY) But i am a collector and want to have at least 1 birch, and 1 maple wood kit..and with yamaha is the obvious choice for a second kit! They sound great here, stoked to get mine!

I was hoping to see the box in detail to see how the kit is packaged.Someone stated that Yamaha drums are packed the worst of all the companies all they were shocked more kits weren’t destroyed in transit.
They were packed just fine. Everything arrived in perfect condition

Overhead is an Audio-Technica AT2020 and the kick is a Sennheiser e602 II.

Doesn't the kit come with a matching snare?
Hi, Yamaha makes a matching snare and I’m sure you can get it included with the kit if you want. I am not a fan of matching snare drums so I did not
