  • My day 2 in Siem Reap is my first full day and it's spent chiefly exploring the Angkor temples!
    A quick overview of the temples we've visited:
    Angkor Wat
    Bayan (Buddhist)
    Terrace of the Elephants
    Ta Prohm (Tomb raider)
    Banteay Kdie (citadel)
    Pre Rup (sunset)
    We ended up booking an air-con minivan for the 8 of us and it's the BEST decision because of the heat.

    Wow that tree growing over the temple is gorgeous! What a beautiful place. Although those insect noises were pretty insane!

      It was extremely hot as well - I admire our tour guide who had his shirt on (however badly he might be at explaining things)

    Oh wow those temples are really incredible looking. What fantastic places to see. The carvings on the wall are very cool.

      The ancient Khmer people knew what they were doing for sure!

    Looks a really interesting place, we have never visited Cambodia, it looks beautiful. We have to visit the 'Tomb Raider' Temple.

      Tomb Raider is the most popular temple - we had to queue for photos at certain places!

    Nice video about exploring Angkor temples, an iconic tourist attraction in Cambodia. Looks like you've had a great time there. We have not visited this part of the world yet but plan to do it soon.

      Thanks! I find Angkor Thom more beautiful than Angkor Wat but you can't beat its iconic silhouette. The history and culture is fascinating too!

    Lucky...I really want to go. Although I am not one for stairs, steep ones at that. I bet its even better in person.

      We met this girl who had vertigo and had to take her time to go down the stairs! They are crazy high and steep!

      Angkor Wat is definitely overhyped, but Angkor Thom is gorgeous and it's worth visiting the temples before they increase the ticket prices again!

    That's cool that you saw the top part of the temple, that was closed when I visited so it was great to see what it looked like from the top! This video brought back so many memories for me, these temples are so amazing.

    • @LaughTravelEat
      @LaughTravelEat  Před 7 lety

      They are! Sorry to hear that you weren't able to visit the top! They are very strict for that section!

  • @evolvingtattooedwanderer

    There are so many tourists!! Did that take away from your experience at all? It looked like Angkor Thom wasn't as crowded though, which is really cool (I always loved playing Tomb Raider so going there is on my bucket list).

    • @LaughTravelEat
      @LaughTravelEat  Před 7 lety

      I expected it to be crowded and I've heard that this isn't even at its worse!
      It'd be nice to have it less crowded, but it wasn't too bad at all - some things are worth seeing hehe. Tomb Raider temple wasn't as sprawlingly high as I imagined but still super cool!
