Mazzanti's biggest mistake was to leave so many key players off the court, players with whom he won gold medals at Eurovolley 2021 and VNL 2022. You cannot have Egonu on the bench, De Gennaro was not even there, neither were Bosetti and Chirichela. This team has many valuable players, many young women with great potential but the most important thing in any team will always be synergy, that connection and complicity is needed that was not felt here, for this reason their performance was not as expected in the VNL, Eurovolley and the qualifier for Paris 2024. In November they announced Julio Velasco as the new head coach of the Italian team and I am extremely excited. after this game Egonu gave the finger to the coach so that Mazzanti could go ahead and managed to get the Italian team NOT to qualify for the Olympics either . It was not Mazzanti final nail on his own coffin, it was a hammer hit on all Italian's guts. P.S. I've got nothing against Kate Antropova.
@@River-Witch-Moon Egonu may be lots of things but she is not arrogant. Calling her over rated after she won 3 championship with 3 different teams is hilarious and it tells something about you.
Egonu is not overrated, but she can be arrogant. I've seen her brag after scoring a point. The most recent instance was against Akimova in Novara.
@@jy3754 That's a confrontation, not a sign of arrogance. And as far as I'm concerned, Akimova was the first to do it. I don't blame her either, it's good to have a little intensity in sports sometimes.

I think the Italians could not recover from the dramatic defeat against the Turks. Even during the Olympic qualifiers, they were still psychologically disturbed….
the match was exciting the netherlands played much better than expected and also played an aggressive game. italy also played well but come to the end and played very weakly. Many times even though the numbers were in an equal position, they could not attack the game, which the netherlands took full advantage of.
