Hey folks!
Today we get up close and personal with the latest and greatest from our friends at Spector: The NS Pulse
This new generation of Pulse basses features an upgraded quilted maple top, bolt-on construction, and the classic Spector combination of active EMG PJ pickups mated to the Tone Pump Jr.
Comfortable and sleek, this bass is a great option for those looking for the Spector sound and silhouette in a more wallet-friendly configuration. Are we will using wallets?
Thanks for watching!
These videos are the best!
Dude thank you! I’m inspired by your stuff!
Amos, you consistently put out the best demo videos out there. Seriously well done! The video production, original bass lines and solid gear critiques from a pro player perspective are great. Appreciated!
5 minutes total including a superb intro, WOW, everything is crystal clear, no time is lost. Congratulations.
That's some beautiful bass playing, mate!
I’ve got an old Spector bass and I love it. Hopefully they are still just as good or better now.
Sounds killer dude!! Love how you showcased it!
As always Amos you never disappoint! This video is epic! I’ve learnt so much about bass from watching these! The humour, and the knowledge of all things audio and/or bass gear is amazing! Also the shake to make sure it was bolted on pretty good was epic!
I love that bassline in the backround, its seriously grooving hard
Great demo video! What a great Spector bass! You make it sound 💯!
I own this bass, and this is one of the best reviews on CZcams for a bass guitar. You captured it perfectly, but I'd also add that the ultra flat fretboard radius makes this bass insanely comfortable on your left hand. I own a Euro Spector as well, and while that bass is rad, this bass definitely captures the essence of Spector (and honestly may have a slightly better neck profile).
I came *this* close to buying a Pulse after trying the Ethos and the Dimension. I ended up with an Ibanez SD1300SB instead due to the neck profile (which is basically a Jazz profile that’s slightly shaved down). The Pulse felt much better in my hands than the other Spector models, which were too chunky for my tastes. Sounded great too!
I record a lot of my stuff on an ibanez then sometimes lie and say I did it on a fender jazz lol. I play an ibanez 1345b and that bass is awesome and can see why you like that neck. Not an expert but agree that the Pulse has the fastest neck of any Spector I've ever played.@@kkchristy
Just got one and I'm super happy...really Rich sound and tone.. I've just sent it to be rapped in Prince Purple with a super gloss gold pin stripping..
Phenomenal as always, Amos.
Nice cab bro!!! Darkglass. Killer stuff
That's going to the top of my list. Seems like a killer bass at a reasonable price point.
Now, after Darkglass pedals you made me want a new bass. Thanks a lot!
Yeah some nice playing, and great tone.
The first bass I built was arched front and concave back. I got the idea from holding a Fender Jazz bass and thinking how much more comfortable it would be if I could hold it closer to my belly. It feels slim and sexy. Good to see someone else figured that out too.
I just recently ( today) found your channel. I have also watched many more of your reviews!! I can say without a doubt this is one of my favorite channels.( Believe me I subscribe to a great many channels for bass and guitar for many reasons) the reviews are honest, insightful, educational, and entertaining. I love the fact that when you are doing a review on a bass. You display your EQ settings on the bass and which pickups you are using very useful and I do wish more CZcamsrs would do this!! After watching each and every video I do walk away more informed!! Thanks for sharing your talent and Chanel with all of us. Have an awesome day!!
Shoot! Thanks Tony! Much appreciated. Glad it’s helpful to you!
@@AmosHeller I also did subscribe to your channel!!
Awesome review 👍!!
Thank you!
It looks fast and sounds superb!
Man I miss your vids. So damn good.
I really like the clear gloss wood type tops..., and I wish they would do more of them in the cheaper range.. Some of the colours they come up with are very "individual" and I would say 80% of them don't appeal to me at all.... These are great basses and I think they would sell loads more if they ditched the blue, mauve, red type stuff... The natural look is the way forward... I'd buy one!.., and one day when I have a spare £2.5k I'll buy one.. 🥳
DAMN, yeah the bass is cool BUT that intro demo was inspiring!!
500k subscriber quality videos from Amos, get this man more views!!
I have been saving up for one, they are a beautiful bass guitar.
Don't save up!.. knock off your local newsagent.. you won't get caught in Britain.. I jest of course.. it's a very good bass it really fills a important part of my 3 bass set up! and its brilliantly priced.. money saving tip that will get the bass in super quick type.. dump your girlfriend or boyfriend a month before there birthday.. get the bass and you have great make up sex afterwards... buy the fucking bass don't think just do it....
Amos...great vídeo as always...👍
Please show us something of NS Dimensión multiscale...
Thanks...🤘
F'n Spector...that growl never disappoints!
Thank you so much for stating straight up that this Spector model is an active bass. Other demos and manufacturers are not willing to just say it for other basses (ahem, Fender).
Really? Huh! Well I strive for transparency. Thanks for watching!
Thanks Amos! Awesome vid, and fantastic review quality :)
I see you also have a Spector Ethos, are you planning a review on that bass sometime soon?
Would be great to see it compare!
His groove face sells everything he demos
Going to order the ultra violet 5 string right now
Famous Amos!
Amos, absolutely phenomenal playing. Do you teach lessons by chance? Would enjoy learning from you to take my playing to the next level!
Hey! Thanks for asking but I don’t teach at the moment.
Please make more demo.
Okay!
Spector's are generally nice basses but they are not for everyone. I LOVE their necks, (half way between a P and a Jazz) but have tight spacing that Fender players may have trouble adapting to.
The other thing is they hang differently on a strap since their strap button is around the 15th fret instead of the 12th compared to a Fender (and many basses) and the bridge is much further up the body than your typical Fender. Both of these details extend the reach distance to the nut quite a bit. This has a positive, but several drawbacks The frets further up the fretboard feel more in your wheelhouse, but reaching to the nut is much more difficult. Doable, but not ideal IMO. Love the look though.
That was a dealbreaker for me with Spectors. Most of your playing is done in the first 5 frets so it never made any sense to make them further away. The NS Ethos I tried sure was beautiful though.
So you still own that bass? And do you still have your red fender bass? Is it fiesta or Dakota
Love the idea of an affordable Spector bass and I’d love to give it a shot. But I think it’s essentially the same as the schecter custom stilletto with the active pre amp, neck dimensions, and EMG active pickups. Schecter deserves more love for the affordable basses they put out.
I'm curious about the 5 string version, is it any good?
I didn’t get a chance to mess with one, unfortunately. I was a big fan of this one, and appreciated the build quality. I know Spector 5’s come with the soapbar pickups so I’m sure there’s some difference in the tone.
Dude that was a great video but not enough playing!
Sting ended up stuffing a foam mute on his white Spector because the sound was just too bright.
Nice video!
Only slapping and talking.
This is exactly what the audience wants to see.
Slapping and talking.
Nicely done you slap hero!
I always read massacre, though I know better. ☹️
It had me at not being $2500 - $7000+ for a Spector lol...
I'll take one of the violet finishes please (DM for address) 👍.
Ah yes, a rebadged Warwick
