Moonlighting was my favorite show those days. I waited to watch each episode just to see their sizzling chemistry. Maddie was gorgeous. I really wanted them ending up in real life. But sadly didn't happen. The pairing was one of the best.
aah. Bruce & Cybill; the dynamic duo. Moonlighting is the best show in tv history. Can you believe netflix or hulu wont air it because of the expensive music? You get what you pay for.

This was when them becoming an item in RL was still a possiblity. They really liked each other and were attracted to each other, you can see here. Then they almost did "it" at her house before pulling back b/c they were worried about destroying the chemistry of David and Maddie. I don't think they would have but that was their choice back then. I like seeing them still happy and attracted to each other. I suspect if they had ended up crashing on a dessert island together that, if they hadn't killed each other, they would have loved each other deeply and happily ever after.
Would love to see some later interviews with them about the show, to see if they still really cared for each other or hated each other as I've heard people mention. I don't know if that's true or not, but I think they had great chemistry on screen.
i've seen more recent videos where she ( because she didn't really click like bruce willis did movie wise ) was ready for a reunion . even in recent interviews about moonlighting with glenn caron she was still " witch" with him.
He really left this all behind him… I enjoyed Blind Date b/c it’s basically the same character, but he really didn’t do that after die hard. She seems like she resented his quick popularity
Yeah by and large he left it behind. He do some comedy here and there after that. Hudson Hawk is an example, perhaps not quite the same character, but a lot of high key clowning and goofing around. That's a very quirky movie, I can't say for sure that it's great, but it seems like the makers of it achieved (more or less) what they wanted with it. That is by watching it, it doesn't seem unrealized or half baked. I think a lot of people at the time just couldn't or wouldn't get on it's wavelength. I had fun with it when I saw it basically for the first time several years ago. I barely remember it from when it came out, might've saw some clips.
Theres always that one person that just hits all your buttons and I bet they were like that together. She seems always on the offensive with Bruce and he seems always on the defensive with Cybill in their interviews. Thank goodness they got away from each other.

Wrong. Listen to the interviews with the casting director and producer. They said Bill Murray and Bruce Willis were the only two people in the world who could have done the David Addison role. Dozens of actressses could have done Cybill's role.
@@philagonactually they knew they wanted cybil from the get go and had her in mind first for the role and called her. She wasn't sure and what they meant was Cybill played maddie fantastically and because of that and her chemistry with him really took it to the edge. He might have played the role great with somebody else but with her it was fire. There's no one person makes the show mate. They might make the character but it takes a team overall. And she was gracious here ( passive aggressive or not) stating it was the characters that were sexist. Him rolling his eyes sarcastically doesn't help much with their actual personalities. Hopefully later on both their egos settled down
It was actually Glen Gordon Caron who created & wrote the show that fought hard to get Willis casted for the show. He mentions it in the mini reunion that you can also watch on CZcams. She agreed after he read for the part. It appeared that Bruce & Cybill made up after all these years, which is great for us moonlighting fans.
The problem is quite clear she liked him but he WANTED her, then frustration sets in on both sides causing serious arguments. She loves working with him but he wants more until he becomes a bit of a beep to her off screen, to a degree abusive and she gets frustrated and upset with his bad behaviour even though it's coming from a sincere place! That's why there relationship worked, not, and had to come to an end. They say she even got married on the show to another guy which upset fans but, was it done to try and cool the situation, ie David can't come onto Maddie if she is married!
I remember Bruce Willis came into the Pep Boys in Fairless Hills, PA I used to work at to buy an O2 sensor. It was around the time Mercury Rising had just come out and I told him I thought he was great as usual in that movie. He had no idea what I was talking about. That's when I realized that it wasn't Bruce Willis, it was just some black guy. I felt so embarrassed.
