That didn’t actually happen. It was just a rumor.
People are so gullible. No habs fan hates this kid, or sent him hate mail. Only media portraying him as the villain. I hoped for a fwd, was mad for 5 min, then was happy we drafted him.

These promotional pieces do nothing for me. The habs put too much into marketing and and public relations, and not enough into building a competitive team. They are doubling down on media to make us swallow the "Mitchkov Amnesia" pill. Reinbacher is a great kid and if ever he reads this, I wish him all the success in the world and will support him fully. Reinbacher is unfortunately in an uncomfortable position created by the Kent Hughes. He will forever be compared to Mitchkov and if Mitchkov turns out to be a generational superstar as predicted, Reinbacher will have to carry the stigma of "we could have had Mitchcov" throughout his career. I hope this will not affect him negatively in his development and I wish him the best in every way.
But if Mitchkov turns out not so great, will those same people come out and admit they were wrong?
I don't think so either.
Individuals don't win championships, teams do.
