The Pokemon Card Market has been going absolutely crazy over the past couple of months. Alternate Art Pokemon Cards have been selling out with increasing demand and it seems like almost every day, a new Pokemon Card is being bought out. Whether it be FOMO, Buyouts, or just plain demand increase, these price increases have really been shaking up the Pokemon Card community.

Funny how when some of those cards got to 100 it started rebounding considerably, pokemon cards is a stock market now 😂

the support, like with many zard cards once they hit a certain low points, they started rebounding
love that some of my best pulls have been raising in price! pulled the Espeon, Dragonite, Blaziken, and Lugia and watching their value go all over the place the last 3 years has been quite the ride
I took a break from playing for a year. but I still bought some stuff and pulled a good amount of alts over the time away. Came back to see everything shooting up. It's crazy.
Could be people spending their tax returns too but that's crazy
exactly, u can see the booms always start around april then come xmas they started to drop
I would think that it the case, but most people who know they are going to get a return file in Jan.
Still takes time to get refund back and not everyone files immediately. I have a refund coming back (3-5k$) and have yet to even file my taxes 🤷♂️. When people have extra cash like that though they def will go and spend it lol

I just pulled the Giratina Alt Art from 1 box of Lost Origin!! YESSSSS!!!!! I ONLY opened it from my sealed collection because blowoutcards had cut through the top of the plastic.
At first i was mad, now im THANKFUL how that worked out. Wow!!!

It actually just did on my page I tracked it's price for about the last 2 weeks or so up to $43 but has since dropped a few but was like $27 a month ago!

This is crazy, every week these price goes up everytime maybe even every day lol. I've been holding off buying and hope it comes back down but it's been creeping up everyday lol.
Yeah… I tried waiting on the moonbreon 2 months ago when it was like $550…… I think we BOTH missed the boat man… these others aren’t coming down lol. They will eventually but I don’t think they’ll ever reach anywhere NEAR the lows. Umbreon might pop to $1000 and drop to $700 but that’s still more than the $550 I coulda snagged it for a few months back….

It won’t come back down , s&s is becoming one of the best eras of all time and how disappointing s&v has been people are sticking to sword and shield

I grabbed Handfuls of blisters and etbs of evo skies and pulled 3$ worth of cards…. Then I grabbed ONE single blister from Walmart and pulled an alt. Art! 🤷🏻♂️ ya never know

Same, opened a few and pulled a Alt Rayquaza VMAX and then stored the rest away. I got my chase card so I was satisfied.

Bought the Noivern and Lilligant alts this week while they're still cheap, very underrated cards.
The only one of those cards I have is the gengar vmax in a psa10. I guess I missed my opportunity to get some of these other cards.
Im glad I bought lugia v for $130
I had so much bulk I took to my lgs and I got some new products and picked up the lugia v about 3 months ago. So glad I got that card when it was at that price

I found a Giratina v at a pawn shop last week for only $180 raw but it had a little dent on it in the corner. I was really tempted to buy it regardless. I regret not getting it
Dragonite v was very undervalue imo at 90

Also surprising to me almost was the mew v alt art has risen up to almost $47 today. Up from 40 about a week ago
I had even made a post on my channel regarding the Dragonite and celebi I knew it was going to boom in price and luckily I got the Dragonite when it was still like $96

The rayquaza vmax alt art from evolving skies has had insane growth as well from 250 up to $409 crazy... im surprised you didnt talk about that one.
Bought the umbreon vmax when it dropped to $500. Thought I was crazy at that time but saw the value in the card and I like the art.
Glad I took the chance on it. I wanted it for my collection and know it would be cheaper than trying to pull it from a booster pack.
Those Knockout collection boxes blue/yellow only hit big time for me ‼️ Each one has a Evo skies and Fusion Strike. Family dollar had them on clearance but they are behind the counter.

I have a lot of these alternate arts that are skyrocketing in and price. I’m just wondering if now is the best time to sell some or continue to hold on to them for years? I love the alternate arts and the overall artwork of all these cards so just having them is special to me and I’m leaning towards holding onto them for years to see where things go.

It should be like that, sword shield boosters are getting more expensive and less common
I pulled the Gengar VMAX when I first got into the hobby in maybe my 4th pack ever opening. It was around $135 back then and I traded it away...

Opened over 100 packs of evolving over the last year and 0 Alt arts.
100 packs really isn't much. It's less than 3 booster boxes. And expecting pulling alts from ES is recipe for disappointment lol

lol trying complete the sword and shield era master sets and I still need some big cards
Im only missing 14 alt arts from sword and shield to have them all. I need giratina still but luckily I have all from evolving skies and fusion strike. I mainly need ones from chilling reign and the giratina and aerodactyl.

I just now realized I only have 2 alts and I had to buy one of them. Not for a lack of opening, either. Just tells you how tough it is to get one.
IMO, this screams bubble to me. I'm near closing all of my positions. I think that year two SWSH cards have just a little more room to grow before it stagnates, but that'll be hard to time. Year three SWSH will go bananas though, and I'll buy more of that until I close that position.
From about 60 evo skies etbs from Costco I pulled every alt art except the moon and 1 other. Won a psa 10 moon for $20 tho

Broader market terms I think we are close to a fed rate cut. Once that happens sitting on cash in a hys or cd becomes less attractive and money will be moved into other markets.

Why is Machamp v from AR getting so expensive now? It’s gone up almost 20$ in the past week
Top chase card in the set… nothing else to throw money at… I hate that card too… I’d pay like $40 for it…. lol … just don’t like the art myself.
@@TheSnackAttackingSnorlax It was $40-60 at release. There was a buyout a couple weeks in that took it to $100 and it stayed there. stupid.
Something i would like to hear about is if investing in ETB’s is good or not. Maybe you have talked about it in an older video, if someone can point me to the right direction, i will appreciate it. But was just talking about it with a friend. In a booster box, youre guaranteed a really good card. But if i get 4-5 ETB’s, im not guaranteed to get a good card at all. But i got 4-5 chances of getting a good card. Then again, the chances of getting good cards in all of them is very very low. Its all a gamble, but its something i would like to hear from Danny. Are they worth investing in them?

Honestly i still think they're prettt cheap compared to how hard they are to pull. Ive only pulled 1 high end alt art since they came out and only 1 other alt art that was low end.... maybe i just got the worst luck there is

I love seeing cards with good art take off, I just wish it had more to do with the playability and the actual good art than just which pokemon is on the card.
All alt arts gona go up no matter what. They are extremely collectible and even harder to pull. It’s not enough to have just one. Many people are collecting hundreds of them so you have to consider that as well.
I agree to some degree. I found S&M alts very difficult landing just the Marshadow&Machamp from Unbroken Bond. S&M alts are very tough to pull and prices will continue to reflect that. I had much more luck in the SW&SH era scoring The Ray V alt and Moonbreon from ES, Mew V alt and Ineleon Vmax alt from FS, Palkia V alt from AR, Galarian Perserker V alt from LO, Regidrago V alt 2 Skuntank V alts and 2 Lugia V alts from ST. That said SW&SH alts are also extremely tough to pull and will hold strong market values going forward. That is where I think it comes to an end. I'm glad they didn't call the SIR's and IR's alt arts because they are far too common to have the same strength as the alts from the previous two generations. So unless Pokemon makes the pull rates more difficult Salt & Vinegar will always be a weak sister to SW&SH and S&M.

Absolutely no reason a modern single apart from 1-2 of them should exceed $100; and it’s not sustainable at all.
Collectors make up the vast majority of the TCG. The investors/day traders are maybe 5-10% and the biggest reason things have shifted to these asinine levels.
It’s fine for value to be retained as that keeps interest, but WITHIN REASON. Once collectors have pulled out because they can’t master a set for less than a used car, the remaining investors won’t be able to structurally support the hobby.
The players are of course their own beast but they more align with the collectors than the investors since they actually are using these things and need them to be cheaper.
Yeah, it plummeted during the god lunchbox tin time period, was very interesting to see. It's just sort of corrected now. Although I'll always remember how most of the community disliked the art when the initial reveal hit. Funny how that panned out.
This is like looking at the housing market. People are tired of being outbid and prices rising. So they are overbidding just to get out of the stress.

its all BS-i put my near mint perfectly centered umbrepn v alt on e bay went for 125. Its not what these bs sites say its worth its what you can actually sell it for minus fees!!! it sucks!

Funny how tons of people were taking joy in alt arts tanking last year - almost an “I told you so” mentality. I kept buying and grading the whole way through and now have 250+ PSA 10 Alt arts in my collection from the sword and shield era. Fun to see prices catch up to the reality that these cards are incredibly tough to pull out of booster boxes that have now climbed significantly in price.

Will never understand how a card that comes from pack that can still be consistantly found at Walmart and has a giant pop 10 report is selling raw for 900+. Sure the art is incredible, but so are plenty of others.
You can find leftover products, and not consistently. And the BB is $700….
