Absolutely knocked this out the park, homerun! I was routing for Nielsen but.... this was incredible! 😊 I forgot how extensive and the large list of victims, acts and all the gruesome details of Dahmer! I can fully understand why he is top of the list of a lot of crime fans tier lists! I think the scary part is that he does look so normal. Incredible question Tom, I genuinely think the acceptance and the ease of availability of sex dolls and toys may have prevented a lot more depraved minds commiting acts. Like you said, Dahmer seeked and craved to lie with someone forever. Like a zombie like figure, something that doesn't leave or reject. I wouldn't be surprised at all to hear many lost that urge to use human victims, due to having a figure there to lie with. Would it have helped Dahmer? Possibly... like would have he held off his disgusting and murderous acts if his grandma, didn't discover the mannequin? 🤔 it's difficult to tell! Would a doll have helped, I think you are on to something Mr Norris! What an excellent thought and question 😊

I’m a sciency viewer (Scientific analyst for local government) and I’ve got kids that were six once….
I think they’d already got to grips with death by six years old. Different time though. My kids grew up with the internet, video games and mobile phones.

We collect taxidermy, mainly bones. my son is very interested in our pieces and often asks to look at them and we teach him about the different parts of the skeleton etc.
For me, it’s no different than taking them to a museum, it’s just in our home and not a big building ☺️

I wouldn't have my six year old playing with bones for a number of reasons, but I don't see just looking and learning about them as any different to taking them to the museum to see dinosaur fossils, whale skeletons and preserved bugs etc 🤷♀️
Funny you should mention a museum, as that’s where as a young teen he observed a model of a human opened and dissected where he became aroused for the first time. 😬

Death is everywhere, don't see the point in hiding it from a child. My guinea pig died when I was 5, and we buried it in the garden. I started collecting skeletal remains of animals at 6 years. I was also obsessed with anatomy, and loved live animals. Never hurt or killed anything, and I think I'm not messed up in any other way.

Not my thing but I've never understood why necrophilia would be illegal. It doesn't make sense to treat a dead body as a person with rights, because they are just an inanimate object once dead - and personally, you can do whatever you like to my body once I'm gone, because I literally will not know anything about it.
But other people think differently. I wouldn't want someone having sex with my dead body after I die.

I know I say this all the time but best episode yet!! You guys are so talented. I used to work in a high secure ward for the criminally insane and a few of the patients who were sexually “inappropriate” had sex dolls/ sex objects (one was a toy sheep) during their teenage/ early 20s. Although they say that control urge needs to come from a living being that’s why animal abuse is a big indicator.

Sorry Ben, I'm not "sciencty" but I have shown one of my sons some bones 🩻 Once I found some dead chicks and brought them home and made a little bed but unfortunately I put them on my wardrobe and forgot about them until the smell drove my mother mad. Obviously they were thrown out and I have felt lonely ever since 😢. Another great video chaps. 😊

Dahmer didn't target black and minorities because of less interest in missing persons cases from the police, thats just what he preferred. He liked black and Hispanic most. Uninterest in missing minority persons cases just happened to be part of how he didn't get caught for so long. He didn't target them intentionally because of that.

When I was 6 I had a rabbit that accident met it’s fate to foxes…he wasn’t replaced 😭 I was told he went to heaven 😩😭
He did so many vile & depraved things but something he did that I found terrifying was just injecting acid into a young man's brain! This was his plan for the perfect zombie.
As for the sex doll idea. That's an absolutely baffling question!! It's a seriously good point, it would be built to his "specifications" & he could just lay with it, pose it however he so pleased etc. It may well have done the trick if he'd been able to get one before any of the fascination with the human body, organs etc.
Thought I heard enough.. but then I hear he was in the army? Plus the idea that he's trying to not be a crazy killer but he got the urge to be close.. feels like if it was our time the guy probably would find someone.. but I doubt it..

I've been interested in serial killers, since earlier 80.
I remember watching the court case on Australia tv, I was 15 years old at the time, it scared the shit of me.
I’m sure there are other people who don’t feel this way but if I went round to a man’s house and found a sex doll I would be scared and very very turned off/uncomfortable. It just looks like they view women as dolls, mostly to act out bizarre fantasies and to treat like objects, and if it’s because they simply can’t “get sex” anywhere else and they resorted to that id start to wonder what the reason is no one wants to.

Another great episode but have to say I really can't get on with the new format, I've tried since they changed it but I miss them both sitting at the table together, this way is less welcoming, less like a conversion between Tom and Ben and the viewer, I've switched to just listening to the audio now because this way adds nothing to it compared to how they used to film

Wanted to drop by and say my family is not sciency except herbology however I had weird interests in animals as a kid. Specifically cats and that got mixed with my interest with death. Even forced my parents to buy me a stuffed cat...it got thrown away sadly. Also a fan of deer antlers and TC. Lets just say, i keep my interests a secret to my conservative family 💀
