I used to think that food was not a big issue with problem skin, and its certainly not the whole issue, having adult acne does not mean you sit down everyday with a big bowl of crisps and consider cookies a substantial meal (people assume silly things) but I have noticed myself when I get the odd spot its often because I'm lacking in fresh fruit and veg. Recently a friend of mine who has had severe eczema all over her face for years , really upped her intake of fresh veg, eating a huge salad with almost every single meal and it really helped her, the results are shocking (shockingly good!). Also, this will sound truly weird, but sometimes 'taking out the trash' in your life, letting negative people and situations go I have noticed can have a big effect on your overall life and health, maybe your body is showing you you need to let of something/someone. I had adult acne in my twenties and something I can say is that often using the really strong things from your GP can be too harsh, (and GP's often dont really care) and cleaning your skin too much with too many harsh products can make it worse actually, they strip your skin of the good things, I have found natural gentle products like Lush Ultrabland, or maybe Aveda products, they seem to work better as they give your skin a chance to heal itself. Just my thoughts. :)

I have psoriasis, and I find diet has a huge influence on this.... In addition stress is a major contributor to my flare ups, being in love has always been the best, most enjoyable " cure". Stay away from milk, and heat on the face if you suffer from rosacea, mine is 99% clear now yay!!

I suffered for years with hormonal acne, trying every product out there, including antibiotic treatments prescribed by my doctor. It was only in my 30s that I stumbled upon an online recommendation to try facial oil. This took a huge leap of faith to put oil on my greasy skin but boy I am so glad I took that leap. Within days my spots had cleared up and within weeks my horrible dark marks left by old spots had faded. I started off using bio oil but my favourite now is Flexiol skin nourishing oil

Don't use a hot cloth on fresh breakouts, just DONT. You'll irritate your skin, use the softest of cloths if you choose to (I do this occasionally because steaming cream cleansers is great and detoxifying for your skin) Use a low /balanced ph cleanser if you choose to use a foam as your second cleanse. You don't want anything too alkaline as it will strip the living daylight out of your face and make it worse. Perhaps alternate an acid toner with a hot cloth in the morning. Try mixing a light dry oil with an oil free gel as your moisturiser. (I use the light version of josie Marans argan oil, rose creams are also very calming). But first things first, if your skin is a confused mess, as in dry patches, oiliness, tightness and breakouts. You definitely need to skip the harsh cleansers and focus on HYDRATING your skin for at least 2 weeks to a month because dehydrated skin makes you prone to breakouts.) invest in a nice hydrating serum eventually but first you need a fuss free cream...then you can gradually add in the acids. There is a cure guys, even if it involves making your own potions. PS cut out dairy if you break out on your cheeks a lot. They pump animals with hormones and antibiotics which throw your hormonal balance off.

I have suffered from acne all of my life and have finally discovered the cause. The advice I would give to anyone is: stay the hell away from your doctor! Retinol, birth control, antibiotics and the evil accutane are extremely unhealthy and in most cases the acne returns again. In Russia and China it is widely accepted that 95% of acne is caused by the demodex mite; a skin mite that we all have but in some people who have lowered immune systems or have been on antibiotics (the same crap your GP is likely to prescribe for your acne, lol) demodex breed to excessive numbers and the spots are due to the toxic waste they cause when they die in your pores and promptly explode. Disgusting. Google it! The pharmaceutical industry has no interest in curing your acne (does modern medicine cure anything?) and therefore in the West this is all an alien concept. Getting rid of demodex is a bitch and half! The only effective remedy I have found so far is to take Oxy powder, Colosan, or some other oxygen based product as demodex thrives on an anaerobic environment. And take them for at least 3 months as the mite has a life cycle that just doesn't quit! If your acne is hormonal, Estroblock is amazingly effective.

Dear Salli you seem devoted to what you say. But you completely fail to mention any of the conversant around the toxicity of any of the products you promote and the lack of any government regulation regarding the chemicals in the products discussed. From thi perspective you are not only unethical but you are in no way a journalist but in fact a marketer.
