Placing ALL the blame on Jeremy Kyle is an utter joke. Now, I want to make it very clear I AM NOT saying he or the production crew didn't do anything wrong or aren't responsible for what they are BUT....
After over 10 years of watching the show SUDDENLY viewers have a conscience?
The show was ONLY on the air for as long as it was, BECAUSE OF THE AUDIENCE.
The show was ONLY BECAUSE OF THE AUDIENCE.
There's a lot of double standards here from both those behind the scenes AND in front of the TV.
We, as a society happily support and tolerate something like this, and SOON AS it results in a death we're all high and mighty?
Same as the rise of crime or homelessness. We don't do anything.... until it affects us or we need to make ourselves look good.
The Jeremy Kyle Show (and anything similar) ONLY lasts as long as it does because of US.
EVERYONE has benefited from it. And EVERYONE wants to look whiter than white.
And that's the reason our society is in such a shambles. Everyone cares AFTER THE FACT,
David
@@davidaston5773 Yeah this was the anti poor demonisation that started in America with Jerry Springer and trailor trash.
But we had chav and dole sponger etc that was used to demonise and shame a demographic.
Television driven bigottry and dehumanisation.
Kyle was one of many programmes that allowed the middle/working class to look down on with disgust those less fortunate.
This is how the m*slim r*pe gangs are allowed to exist. Because the victims were poor or in care.
Also how austerity was easily accepted and the benefits system attacked after the financial crash.
Just a reminder Love Island has a way higher body count than Jeremy Kyle. Yet you wouldn't touch them for whatever reason.
I'm talking about self life ending, not the in and out splurge about time.
@@hsthatzo8063The term REALITY TV is a joke.
The irony? Fictional shows are more truthful, in what they show, than the ones which are supposed to be real life?!
And, that's before you get to social media which is a modern day hall of smoke and mirrors.
The doors of perception have been royally smashed and put back together as a disjointed and false jigsaw.
David
@@davidaston5773 :
So Jeremy Kyle gets axed after a single death, yet Love Island was allowed to continue after MULTIPLE deaths?
Shocking really, two shows that highlight pillars of our society as well, the best and the brightest.
Love Island should be banned full stop and I’ve never watched it. Groups of tarty orange women and pumped up hench Essex boys bowling about. The idea makes me bring up bile.
It's because they didn't have to take controversial lie detector tests
Lmao, love island didnt cause them people to kill themselves. They killed themselves because of their own personal reasons/circumstances, now did they regret going on Love Island? Maybe. But LI cannot be directly implicated in any of the deaths the same way this death could be for JK show.
Jeremy Vyle was already on the decline so ITV didn't have so much to lose by axing it as a PR stunt. Love Island brings in too many viewers still for ITV to ditch it.
The show used to air after school. We'd watch it to feel like our lives weren't as bad because other people had it worse. Like "at least we're not like them."

Six of his children died in the fire.

A friend of mine went on the Jeremy Kyle show many years ago with his wife under the pretence of getting help with their debts. They were split up backstage, gave them a lot of alcohol and then wound up by producers into thinking their problems were each others fault. Then they brought them out on stage and filmed them tearing into each other. It might not have been scripted but they were very manipulated.
caintetsuo990 - Exactly. It was a disgusting show that deliberately misled guests for ratings.
Kyle is a parasite and the producers should bow their heads in shame.
Similar thing happened to me, I went on because I wanted contact with my child and ex refused. Behind the stage just before I went on the staff suddenly told me to go a different way and so on the camera it looked like I was storming off in a tantrum. After all that shit they didn't help at all never heard a thing from them since that day.
@@MatthewBP Having low intelligence is not a crime, nor is it a moral failing. It's certainly not a free ticket for people of (marginally) greater intelligence to manipulate these people with false promises. This is why we need regulatory bodies and other services in place to try and prevent this kind of thing from happening. In this case, it's clear not enough was being done.
It's not their fault any more than e.g. you would blame an old dear for having her life savings stolen for believing a scammer over the telephone.
It's clear a lot of these people come from atrocious circumstances. However repulsive or unsympathetic they may seem, they're not animals to be trotted around at the human circus so other people can jibe and laugh and feel better about themselves. Mid 2000's Britain had a serious issue with "poverty porn" on TV. So many shows like Jeremy Kyle, Benefit street, Can't pay we'll take it away, thousands of shows like Police Interceptors that portrayed anyone who wasn't white and middle class as these very ratty, cheating, sneaky individuals that were the main reason why YOU can't have nicer things.
It's an objective fact that the most multi-racial parts of the country have the most crime and social breakdown. There is a reason why people have these conceptions of poor people and non-Whites as undesirable, not just in this country but everywhere, because it's grounded in truth. Likewise it's a fact that many problems regarding strains on resoources, housing and infrastructure are caused by mass immigration and dysgenic poor people being subsidised to breed. I feel like you Guardian types live on another planet you're so ignorant.
Why bring race into it? Plenty of white people appeared on those shows. Actually I'd go so far as to say if you watched every episode, the majority of the people on them were white.
Not everything is racist.
Even the inventor and developer of the polygraph machine both said it was a gimmick more than a scientific tool.

The Jeremy Kyle show was something that aired when I was a child/Teenager, The fact this was seen as entertainment is appalling, it seems it had many viewers at that time due to the nature of how absurd, wrong and strange some of the people were - these people were taken advantage off for their mental health problems. 9 months after the show was axed the producer, Natasha Reddican, was found dead as a suspected suicide, its tragic, how many lives this show ruined.
No way, I didn't know she offed herself too?!!! That's crazy.

I didn’t watch it. But my friend did. So sometimes I'd catch a show at hers.
I know a family solicitor who worked with someone who'd been on the show, the client said that the 'Jeremy Kyle Show Team' were back stage giving him beers and goading him/winding him up while his ex was talking about him to Jeremy, i.e. "I can't believe she's saying that sort of stuff about you... you need to tell her about herself... what a fucking bitch..." essentially getting him totally riled up so he loses his shit when he goes on stage and they get 'better tv'.

Interesting. I was more on the shows side at first but that is messed up. Watching a car crash vs causing one is a great analogy.

If Kyle spoke to any normal bloke like he did on the show his face would be rearanged every time.
Well he's got all security around him. He wouldn't dare talk to a bloke in the street like that. If someone hit him just once he'd go straight down. He's only skinny.
He wouldn't have the courage to do that without his security around him.
gotta love the irony of jeremy not understanding what he's done wrong.
He hasn't done anyhting wrong.
He knows he did something wrong, he just doesn't actually care. He's the kind of scum that sees his own life as being worth infinitely more than someone of a lower economic class.

A very well put together video/documentary 💯
This show should have been called "Punching Down".
Truly the pinnacle of the hatred of people that are poor and "on benefits". It's grotesque.
It was exploitative for sure but a lot of them were scum, being poor is no excuse to have 10 kids all from different dads. The guests all had 5 teeth between them, and even less brain cells. You framing them as poor innocent poor people is just as bad in my opinion. These people are responsible for they're own lives, acting like scum is no excuse no matter what class you are in soceity.
There’s a book called “chav” that heavily goes into the smear campaigns on poor people in the 2000s as a way of diverting attention from other things, highly recommend, the mindset created by these shows is still so prevalent
I know someone who went on that show and passed the lie detector despite her admitting later she was lying but learned how to cheat it.

1:34 I loved watching Jeremy Kyle show. It shouldn't have been axed whatsoever 😂😂😂😊
Unpopular opinion apparently - but I loved the show when it was on, and find it hypocritical and disingenuous of ITV that they canned it after a single person's death, yet Love Island's death toll is significantly higher, yet they continue with the show.
It had nothing to do with the death of the person involved. ITV cut the show to make it looked like they cared, but they don't. Love Island is a huge ratings boost and a cash cow for ITV so what if people die? They don't care.
Was nothing to do with people's lives and all to do with money.
Yes, "Trash TV" is the proper term for it all and has been a blight on Society ever since its inception.
New to the channel, love it 👌
The lie detector angle always annoyed me. A privately educated man who’s half as clever as he thinks he is would know that there’s no such thing as a magical mind-reading machine. Yet he would put this aside to shout at and berate these poor bastards who failed the test and didn’t know any better. Some of them must have thought they were going crazy.
The lie detector annoyed me so much. There's a reason they can't be used as evidence in court.
Shit like this is a symptom of the sickness society as a whole has, we as humans have lost the plot a long time ago. Instead of facing up to what we do, then try to do better we just grab the pitchforks & go for the sacrificial lamb. It's always easier to blame our problems on someone or something else than take account for them & try not to repeat them. I honestly don't know if we're to far gone or not yet, but from looking around I'd air on the side of too far gone....
😂😂
Yeah our society and culture has become rotten. In it's current form it's too far gone but humans certainly aren't done for. Good times create weak men, weak men create hard times, we're due for some hard times. But what comes out of it should be strong men. Then the cycle can continue lol.
It’s easy to blame the poor and vulnerable, instead the rich and powerful.
I once had the pleasure of dealing blackjack to Kyle in a casino in Manchester. The man strutted in like he owned the place, and when he initially sat down at the table he was quite friendly. Within the first 5 minutes his attitude completely flipped. He became very obnoxious, every other word was profanity, he was confrontational with other customers and staff. He lost a few thousand and then stormed out muttering and swearing.
Amazing. Jeremy Kyle is one of my heroes, 'the 4 Jeremys' if you will. I loved watching the Jeremy Kuyle show, those were the days my friend
So just like the average gambler then? Casinos do far more damage to lives than Jeremy Kyle. Get of your high horse, your place of work has probably caused far more suicides than the JK show.
As a former croupier myself... I wish it was me taking his money from him 😂. I bet you look back and have a right giggle about that night Stewart, mate... I know I would 😂. Best story I've got is being offered 1800 quid for tripling number 21 on roulette and not being able to accept it due to our stupid rules of not being able to tip the dealers lol. Also, that job gave me Insomnia that I've had ever since... cheers Grosvenor Casino's c#### 😂
And then everyone clapped
@@speckysteventhe guy was a known gambling addict, a serial cheater, was on tv being openly aggressive, and you think a story of him kicking off at a casino couldn't possibly be true?
great video man
Looking back now you can see JKs narcissism clear as day. We always knew he was hypocritical, but after the suicide he shown not an ounce of genuine remorse that his show driven him to it or even seemed that bothered full stop, all he cared about and focused on was the criticism he got - like his dented ego bothered him more than a person taking their own life because of him.
He forgot his own flaws, always made the episodes about himself (especially with his line "it's called the Jeremy Kyle Show" before telling people to shut up) and he doesn't care that a person died because of his show. It had the hallmarks of a total narcissist, it's so obvious now.
He was always telling people to go get a job so they can pay for their kids etc but I remember watching an episode where there was a man who was working 3 jobs so he could pay his child support and he told him to not work as hard and spend time with his kid 😂 like pick a lane mate
This is the first time I’ve seen one of your videos, and it was fantastic and really well written so I had to subscribe. I’ll be spending the next few days catching up on everything I’ve missed.
You're spot on. It's weird how some people feel better about ourselves, when we see others fail.
Just came across your channel today, had to subscribe, very interesting documentaries fella
I always found it amusing/worrying that the guests were prepared to make these momentous, life-altering decisions (I'm leaving you, I'm taking the kids, etc) on the strength of the lie detector test, the efficacy of which is clearly dubious, hence it's not being used in courts, police interviews and so on. I can't recall ever seeing or hearing any kind of disclaimer about that, either.
Not only was there no disclaimer about the dubiousness of the tests, I've even seen clips that actually promote how highly accurate they are. If I remember right, it was scrolling text along the bottom of the screen whenever he was just about to read out results, or shortly afterwards. And it read something along the lines of "experts say that lie detector tests are around 96% accurate". I've also seen clips where this text was conspicuously absent though. So I'm guessing they either made this claim at first, but then their lawyer wised up and made them remove it, or they didn't make the claim at first but later repeatedly asked a bunch of different polygraphists (no bias there) to put a number on it until one of them gave them a figure high enough for them to be happy quoting on subsequent episodes. I also remember Jeremy often drilling that figure into the heads of the guests after the initial outburst from the results being read out, in order to prevent any defence from a potentially innocent victim of the test, and to manipulate the spouse into maintaining their anger and continuing down the path of a declaration of ending the relationship whilst the cameras are still running, because hey, ratings. Disgraceful.
It's giving czcams.com/video/vhvJzDLCuK4/video.html
I don’t think many of them would even know what dubious means let alone have any critical thinking
@@guntguardian3771 some people haven't had the benefit of an understanding family, wise family members, great teachers, great friends etc. There will have been a few poor souls going on here thinking "this is my big break in life!!!!"

Jerry Springer was perhaps the vilest of these types until Jeremy Kyle came along, at least Jerry Springer didn't shout in people's faces to humiliate them. But still, I really hope Karma is real for these assholes.
I remember having arguments with people at the time who seemed to idolise this man. The kind of people who idolised anyone on a screen.
They pointed out the strap line at the bottom of the screen that said, "practitioners say the lie detector is over 95% accurate", and point out that practitioners of crystal healing and astrology would also put that level of accuracy on their specialty.
I remember pointing out how strange it was that he chased people out of the studio and down the street when he still had results to read and a part to finish but when everything he needed was in the can he let them go, moaning about how they weren't going to get any attention from him.
I remember guests trying to defend themselves with a primary school education whilst he had 61 people in the gallery feeding smart ass replies into his ear piece.
And finally I remember him screaming at guests that they didn't matter, it was his show and his name was on the wall. But at no time did I ever see him on stage filling a 20 minute segment with his life's flaws.
I always hated that show!
@Karen Wilson Me too. It was abhorrent and disgusting from the start. I had the same arguments with people I knew. My ex was even an audience member. I hope she regrets it on reflection.
I knew a couple who were recurring guests on the JK show. They let it litigate their whole lives, and were invited back several times just for the drama and baited into sharing very personal things that should never have been known even amongst friends, nevermind in front of milions. I don't wanna say who, but you would definitely get a very simplified view of their very complicated lives if you were to only watch their portrayals on that show.

I was working at a factory a few years ago and this new girl started. We chatted and started a work friendship. After a week or so people at work started coming up to me and asking if I knew her. I was like no but thought why does everyone keep asking. We had finished one day and set off home and a few men were outside and started laughing I said to her that everyone kept asking about her and she said it was because she was on the Jeremy Kyle show and she said it totally ruined her life. She looked so defeated and she actually left a couple of weeks later. She never said anything but I think it was definitely because everyone would talk about her behind her back. She said when they arrived at the hotel the night before, their rooms were on different floors and there was no way of changing rooms. They were also told they're not allowed their phones "to prevent arguing". The crew would then come in and out of their rooms "to check on them", but each time would come back with gossip between all of them. He said this and she said that. She said she knew something was up when one team member said her mom called her a slag. I was close with her mom and she would have never, ever said that about her daughter. In fact, she was proud of her for having kids with different dads. So while she realised what was going on she had no way of telling the others because each time you left your room a team member would coincidentally pop out and be like heyy bestie where we going? Theyd keep you seperated and continue spreading false gossip right until you appear on the stage.
So that explains why they behave like raging bulls before theyve even started. I cant imagine how many relationships these demons have destroyed and i wonder is the dna test even real?
According to the Dispatches documentary shown on Channel 4, the producers would give certain guests alcohol claiming it was for “medicinal purposes”
Just found your channel today and been binging all day. Keep it up mate you’ve got a great style and patter
OF COURSE this kind of public shaming for entertainment is medieval and should be banned.
Great video ,I like a lot of people used to watch it even though I knew it was crap, was definitely entertaining and seemed like was made to make you feel better about yourself because the people on there were mostly made to look really bad even if they weren't,new subscriber lots of interesting videos👍
This is not a disturbing program it's the best talk show ever made
Right 😂😊
Facts
All this shows is your maturity level lol
Always remember an episode that was completely different that aired when I was about 7-8 so be about 2005-2006 of a teen who's petrol RC car blew up and basically melted him, was different to the usual format and Jeremy was really kind hearted and nice to him on that episode and it was more about getting his story out there, only time I ever seen Jeremy being nice lol, hope that lads doing good these days his story has stuck with me since I was a kid
I have a similar memory of a teenage boy who was needing help with his mental health and SH. He was there with his parents and it was calm, gentle, supportive etc. I remember it because it was so unusual for the show
The Jeremy Kyle Show was exploitative poverty porn. Good on you dropping some biblical knowledge in your video,
I wouldn’t call it poverty, just dysfunctional.
Spiritual poverty my friend
@@chrishenniker5944 You absolutely can. You won't see them bringing on a Boris Johnson type with 4 wives, 10 kids, and a handful of mistresses on to goad them into embarrassing themselves. They go for the people who they can bribe with a handful of cash to exploit them on national tv with the promise that they will resolve their problems.
Biblical knowledge doesn't always hit but the stuff Jesus was about still seems to hit
Actually Jeremy Kyle started off on North West radio station "Century FM" in the very early 2000's. He was sort of like an agony uncle called "Jezz" on a phone -in late night radio show. A nickname obviously nicked from Corry bad boy at the time - Jezz Quigley. 🧐🤔
It's refreshing to see so many people agree Jeremy Kyles show was terrible now. Back when it was on people would always disagree with me when I said he was a bully who exploited lower class people.
No security to hide behind when someone dies, Jezza.
Also let’s not forget he had a gambling addiction, stalked his ex wife and was extremely in appropriate with a young intern
A neighbours son went onto Jeremy Kyle's show, he was ages woth my son so he asked me to tape it, I didn't like the show is just humiliated and manipulated people. He hung himself, I don't know how long after he was on the show it happened but it wasn't just after he had been on it, however it shows just how fragile these people could be mentally
The show was a guilty pleasure for more than willing to admit, thats why it lasted so long.
Kyle only thought and said what most of us thought about the muppets appearing on it.
This show got me through uni…..Graham the genius always swoops in at the end to tell the alcoholic they need to stop drinking and the people addicted to drugs they need to stop drugs to turn there life round!….Genius 👏👏
That absolutely breaks my heart. The man felt that the only way he could prove his words was by killing himself. Fucking appalling.
Thats not the shows fault
@@shafserious2805It is if they pushed that lie detector result as gospel
@@slavaukraini1991 well then it should be argued back that lie detector is never used as final. And before they take it they should know this. Not one person stated as a defence that the lie detector could not be used a final verdict they just accepted it.
I remember watching this w my mum all the time, the pure appeal of the show was watching shitty people do shitty things, the show basically existed so ppl could veiw the consequences nd arguments caused by it all
I like Jeremy Kyle he shouts at all the people i want to shout at! They should never have cancelled his show. He did a lot of good too.
Shout away, no one will hear you.
Human misery is still being turned into TV entertainment. Storage Wars is probably the worst because it totally skips over the misery part. Someone lost their stuff because they couldn't pay for their storage locker (these things are often used by people at their rock bottom). Then, they make a TV show where people are bidding on it like vultures. They talk about it like blind box prizes, all super happy that they won someone's valuable stuff 👍
Human misery is profitable. Slotmachines, debt, capitalism, slavery even today overall are acceptable human misery.
I stumbled across this channel. I was sceptical about what you had to say to begin with, but it has seemed more rounded as I’ve watched more of it. Will subscribe and watch more of your work.
Really well presented, thank you. Glad I stumbled across your channel 🙂
This was the show to watch when you were home sick from school
I recall one time Jerry Springer said he wouldn’t be doing his show if his parents were still alive. I thought damn if that’s not a sign you’re ashamed of what you do I don’t know what is.
You get back what you give out! Jeremy Kyle is getting exactly what he deserves, I only hope it lasts as long as his exploitative show was on air. Having an extreme emotional response to a situation that doesn’t actually effect your life is insanity, it’s nothing more than showboating for attention. Pathetic.
Never liked the show. Somehow it seemed aimed at the benefits class while also poking fun at them. After a while it began to look like people just looking to make a name for themselves or get their own tv show and hard to tell if the show was entirely fictitious and dramatised.
I heard a saying somewhere that goes like this "sometimes they make the wrong people famous" and that goes true here.
