- Here's a compilation of lake lanier photos taken around lake lanier islands on november 11 2007. the first few photos are an old wooden boat. Some interesting finds include several engine block clusters, sleeper sofa, picnic table, car batteries, old Gainesville (Looper) race track grandstands, and oh yeah -- lots of budweiser cans and Jack Daniels bottles :) Music by Slightly Stoopid -- Jimi
The music playing along with the video is far too happy to be associated with a lake that has such a dark past.
That is a type of music you have no understanding of. Just enjoy.
@@sassegranny4700 i guess you have no understanding of Oscarville
juss white ppl trynna sugarcoat their racism as usual
nah but fr OP was probably ignorant to the fact of the lakes history as i was till this morning n juss uploaded this vid as a harmless hey check out my trip to lake lanier yk?
While Oscarville has a fucked up history, the lake itself is not evil. Dams control flooding and provide pollution free energy. Air pollution from burning fossil fuels and flooding are two major killers.
RIP ancestors
Y’all not creeped out by this lake? There’s a whole city along with the graves of people that are on the bottom of that lake. I wouldn’t go nowhere near that lake or Lake Piru here in LA.
All the graves were relocated.

This lake was a giant cover up for all the fucked up stuff that happens there. Rip.
damn conspiracy theorists😆
@Truth Hurts 😶🌫️
@@Guerrero3546 lies hurt even more. Do you really think that the army covered up the area because of the false accusations about those kids? Yeah, some really horrible things happened to some innocent people but calling it a cover-up is ridiculous. Everything was in the papers back then. The stories are still around today.
@@tonyh9970 Giant cover up. The size of a lake.
@@Guerrero3546 what does the size have to do with anything? It supplies power and water to nearly half of the state's population. You can't do that with a puddle.
Odd choice of music for a place with so much dark history
The fact people are sitting there and staring out towards the lake with confederate hats on is enough to say racism isn’t dead
STFU!!
@@drc512 you stfu
I totally agree
Literally one person 🙄
Fuckin crybaby
This music does not brighten up the fact this was a genocide
Why was this lake needed?? To do that to those ppl.... Just sad
To bring water to the surrounding Atl area. When the lake was low we were told to monitor our water consumption. I use to hate the smell of the water. I would cook with bottled water
czcams.com/video/5Ng4e9zlPJM/video.html
To cover up the truth and lie saying something about helping out Atlanta water problems pr some like that

Me too
said no one ever? early 2000s were wack
Excellent photos.
Interesting....I was there at that time also and saw that sunken motor boat at the Lake Lanier Islands boat ramp. Along with a lot of other junk along the shore.
The music adds the happiness
VERY NICE . i lived many places close to the lake between clermont and buford 1960 _2018 . i rode my kt 250 trials bike around lake during 1975 ? during drought. currently living in wa. state ,bellingham wa. . bordering canada north and puget sound west . i'm 3 mi from the water here , forest and water are familiar , equal but a different beauty . THANX FOR THE MEMORIES
@anvil357 They used to use those engine blocks to anchor 30+ slip docks many years ago. Now they use giant concrete blocks which are a lot more environmentally friendly.
good pics and nice music.
Ther is a Geocache right behind the grandstands at Laurel park.
Great video
Dang this happend the year I was born did you know there’s a whole city under Lake Lanier and yes I’m 10 years late 😂😂
They let 10 year olds on here wtf you make me feel old

I'm glad you mentioned that a whole city is under this death trap man made Lake to cover up sad history.. death will come...to uncover more secrets

@Jbqb20 Good idea, not sure how hard it will be to get back to most of those spots with the water high though.
Yeah I remember that very sad. Long time we don't have drought like this on lanier.
The music to this video makes me uncomfortable
With the history and all. It's crazy asf 😥
What was done to those people and many like them was terrible! But like they say, what is done in the “dark”, Always eventually reveals itself.
What a mess I can't believe the army corps of engineers left all that DANGEROUS shit in the water. People dive off there boats and get a tree trunk ,rebar,a branch in the eye and when there's a drought it's worse. I almost bought PROPERTY at lake Lanier and saw the drought and new SOMETHING else was going on here so we started asking around and we got the answer's we were shocked of the town and unmarked graves farm structure's and trees 35 feet and under left standing WTF no wonder so many people die on that lake every year stay clear of that cursed lake. 😱💀👻
I was 2 when this video was released, I’m 15 now
Very cool pics! I remember going to several parks on Lake Lanier back then and collecting lots of old bottles, one was a very old beer bottle that was still sealed. I went down to the race track grandstands, was sad to see that kids had broken many of the steps that had survived underwater. Old Federal campground was nice, Off the beach area was the foundation for a house and many tree stumps with roots exposed. The wood from the house was gone but there were still many rusty nails left behind.
czcams.com/video/5Ng4e9zlPJM/video.html
Check out the truth behind those Rusty Nails in wood stumps
Great video and thanks for sharing , I didnt hear from Aqualand marina but I have to go and check my boat!!,can anyone tell me if the recent raining and snow helped a bit ? thanks !
With the price of scrap, it would seem profitable to grab up those engine blocks.
I look foward to your video response. Isn't it funny how you forget you're wearing sun glasses when you're drunk :O. Same happened here!
TBIRD LAKE SAME THING, BUT THE ANCIENT STONE STRUCTURES dark brownish red blocks and blocks weigh tons.🐴
in my lake we got campers and RVs from a flood that washed out the camp grounds and I know not all the campers were recovered. plus we our share of garbage
at least u get to see what is in the bottom of the lake
Yeah I remember a houseboat even showing up at starboard during the last drought around 2000-2001 and they put all the boats on styrofoam. Shallow waters there. The racetrack is at laurel park off of Cleveland hwy north of longstreat bridge in gainesville. Some elderly gentlemen reminiscing about the races there in the 50s. A lot of it involved moonshine :)
Worst music choice ever. 🙄
My lake is 16 feet below normal.. Its very bad. We have steep banks, not shallow beaches so it drops off pretty fast..

I’m the 78th comment because I was born in 77😉I’ve heard about lake Lanier. I have no desire to visit a deadly lake. Have fun vacationers...
Wtf is with the music lol
lake Lanier reminds me of bioshock
It would be awesome to see lava start bubbling up out of there and never stop
That would probably be blood from the town Black town buried beneath it
When you consider Lanier has 700 miles of shoreline, I'd guess that the total water in the lake was less than 50% of the amount when full. Atlanta simply has to stop growing. There isn't enough water. The same is true in many other parts of the country, including Sourthern California.
Actually that water need to be gone. There's a whole town underneath there.
@@R2CHaze See, there was a town there.
This has nothing to do with Atlanta being too big. lol - wow.
This video is necessary
man...that looks almost as bad as tybee islands beach!!!
heh never know what your gonna find at bottom of lakes Heck the Lake McConaughy (kon-a-hay) theres a town at the bottom Well foundations lol
There's a town under this same lake too. A racetrack, cemetery, very cool...

Cheers
U still play the guitar?
I wonder were people get all the water from to make a lake like this
To my knowledge, they reroute the river. To cover the town. Once all the black ppl were terrorized out. This is all So Sad. And ppl on here making comical comments, makes me sick. Sad how ppl can make light of a whole society of ppl. I mean they had Over 300 students in school. This was going to be a really UP and Coming Black City...... All destroyed.... so sad.
And they're trying to steal water from Chattanooga, Tennessee.
It's should be drained and let our ancestors have a rest

What's up with that music ...like this is a celebration of some sort ..I cant ...just disgusting ...
I was there about the same time in November but took pics mostly on the south side near Long Hollow Park. I'll do something similar in response here. There are lots of fishing lures around too. That old sunk outboard tri-hull looks like a model from the 1960s. You think anyone will start a clean up project now? Where the hell are these so-called caring environmentalists? Drinking lattes at Starbucks? Anyway, I hope to recover my $110 Ray Bans and $175 Varnets lost in the '90s while drunk :p .
They sacrificed blacks in the lake a and they are proud. Are the Christians, there that's what Jesus allowed. God allowed it the Christian God?
