Yes, I only trust people with a butter dish on their counter!🤣
🤣🤣
🤣 Haha! It's the best way to have spreadable butter at the ready! My husband introduced me to the idea when we got married! I've never looked back!
Me to.
I have butter out, and my fresh eggs too!
The $🌳 has Tupperware style knock off "travel style" butter dishes that are great for an emergency Hurricane/fire evacuation bug out bag. They snap together decent enough but more importantly they wont break, ruin your butter and cut you in transit during an emergency. $1.25, come in red, white and blue and they're on shelves NOW in SC/GA area. I cant speak to everywhere but I think they're on the website too.
Great video. I cook and the dehydrate my white rice (and pastas) that just requires placing some in a thrift store thermos with hot water to hydrate. Yes, there are those that ask the question Why? but having my cooked pastas dehydrated will allow for less fuel usage in a time that fuel may be scarce. My husband questions the beef roasts I buy for canning as he thinks we have enough but we never knows how many people may need to be fed besides our immediate family. Being prepared and knowing how to use your pantry foods is a great skill to have.
Always leave butter on the counter. 👍👍
A mother knows how to fix a meal to feed her family!!!
Half Asian here 😌 just cover the rice and the steam will loosen it. Also, saute some ginger and garlic paste in the oil before you put the rice in so the flavor actually cooks into the rice (if you have it!) love the ideas!
I always have butter out.. also have ghee.. and make own ghee since it's so expensive.
powdered eggs would work great in this situation
I just watched this video. Thank you so much for the ideas, I would have never thought about not cooking the rice and pasta in the microwave first. And I don't care how you pronounce vienna as long as you and your family enjoy them. I watch a channel where she says bo lo na instead of bo lo knee, or something like that. It makes life interesting.
wow wow love these meal ideas ,and here in england a kitchen is not a kitchen without a butter dish,i also have a matching one for lard,as we english fry a lot with it,baking etc xxx
Gotta have butter...like I always say ... butter makes everything better 🥰🥰
Hereford canned beef has gravy already in with the beef. We take a couple cans, warm up shred meat, let cool a bit, roll in corn tortillas, fry in a little oil seam side down, any you have easy beef taquitos. Ps love the video
VEE ENNA... sausage. GREAT VIDEO, I WILL BE USING THESE RECIPES, THANKS FOR SHARING!
I always also keep shelf stable milk handy. Keeps a long time, tastes great. I use it because I don't use enough to buy fresh. Would be great in the instant potatoes along with your butter.
Thank's for your emergency . Food recipes . All three meals looked delicious . You And Family. Have a Wonderful Day .
The hot dog Mac n cheese is something my grandma used to give us just as a regular dinner with those beans in maple syrup too .
Great ideas. I'm going to rewatch this with my teens. There have been times when my hubby and I have been an hour away shopping and the electricity has gone out at our house for 3-4hrs. This will give the kids some quick and easy meal ideas to make with the camp stove.
Just now found this. ❤ With the rising cost of groceries, searching for simple meals and pantry meals. This video is still very relevant in 2023. These recipes look fantastic! 🎉
I'm on low carb.. and just wanted to let folks know that there are shelf stable cauliflower pkgs similar to the rice PKG used... I do both because hubby is not on low carb and using from pantry is important and I have a lot more rice in pantry.
Yes! We get these too because my dad is diabetic. Walmart has them - “fullgreen” brand. They have broccoli, sweet potato, & mushroom blends too. Only $2.48 a pack
Wow if my life depends on it I'm not going to be low carb
Dollartree has shelf stable almond milk, sweetened and unsweetened.
I LOVE these ideas❣️ I would love more videos like this! 😊
Fantastic ideas! Dehydrated egg powder would be nice to have on hand. By the way, I keep my butter on the counter too.
I am building my foil pan stock. I use to go camping with my kids when they were younger. Always had different size pans for cooking over the camp fire. We could make anything. I live in Florida so building a stock of the pans to have for hurricane times. I just buy 2 or 3 every month or two. Of course my shelf stable food comes first. I am going to look into a canner for meats and other things to put in my preps.
Former farm girl here... Butter always stays on counter! I can't keep Vienna sausage here... They disappear during midnight snack raids! Lol! I've also used cubed Spam with mac n cheese. And it's always a hit. Have you ever had beef gravy over baked potatoes? We used to when camping.
I've bought cans of beef in gravey and instant potato buds and veggies. But the stopped saleing at the dollar stores so I buy the Amish cams of beef, chicken, and Turkey. I just a little flour and water mixed together then add it too the juicy off the meat for gravey and bit of liquid bouquet for taste and color. I get about 10-12 meals from one can. And use it too make a pot pie or shepards pie and beef Manhattan's.
Polish sausage cut and fried with Mac and cheese and peas is really good also
You mentioned that if you were without power you wouldn't have refrigeration for your eggs...actually, I have chickens and do not refrigerate my eggs. Because I do not wash them and this allows me to keep them on my counter until I use them.
Yes, that’s what I said. If you have fresh eggs you could add them to your recipes because they don’t have to be refrigerated..
The fried rice would be a good side dish. Add your eggs to it. Then for protein cut up some boneless chicken add a little soy sauce about a third of jar of orange marmalade and a quarter to a half cup of your favorite barbecue sauce and cook until chicken is done. My family calls it fake Chinese.
I was blessed this month's lots of good items but the best was a box 8 brand name spices and others items too one person a month of meals and always greatful too receive them.
I leave my butter out all the time also 😊
Imagine the soup you could make with that beef . Yummy!!
Thanks tough times are a commin!
Heyyy! I love that you shared an emergency meal idea! I run out of time often after work and then I have to come up with something random!! This seems so easy to make!
I enjoyed this video, lots of good meals. You can coat eggs with mineral oil and make them shelf stable. I have done that and stored them in a cool place for a month with no refrigeration.
I store mine over a month without putting anything on them. Here in the UK even the shops don't keep them in the fridge. Eggs are not meant to be refrigerated at all. The shells are porous and absorb moisture and smells in fridge.
@@michellesovereign4564 Are the eggs in the UK washed? I have heard they are washed here in the US which takes the natural coating off and that is why they are refrigerated or need a coating on them. It's interesting how differently things are done in different places.
@@barburbec I'm so glad you said that because I never knew there was a difference! After looking into it, All of Europe bans egg washing as they believe it helps transfer harmful bacteria to the inner egg.
America bans unwashed eggs.
In the UK, eggs are typically not refrigerated. … In the UK, Grade A hen eggs may not be washed because the process is thought to “aid the transfer of harmful bacteria like salmonella from the outside to the inside of the egg,” according to the Food Safety Authority of Ireland.
Mystery solved. Many sources still state they are better off not refrigerated in either place but now I understand your mineral oil application.
☺
Yes, that’s why our store bought eggs have to be refrigerated. Because they are washed. If you have farm fresh eggs they don’t have to be refrigerated, because they don’t wash them.
@@SouthernWifeEverydayLife thank you, makes sense now lol
Hey, Tamara 🍁. Depending on the time of year, I plan on using my screened in back porch as my fridge 🤣. My butter will be on my counter! Great ideas 💕
We leave our butter on the counter also, I feel it’s alright to eat it doesn’t taste any different than the butter in the fridge. All the meals looked great.Thank you for sharing.
You can’t beat Keystone canned meats. Another decent canned meat is corned beef. I used about half a can mixed in canned seasoned green beans (Glory brand) and canned potatoes (diced with peel on). All available at Kroger. The other part of the can was good mixed in canned sauerkraut. It’s good on top of mashed potatoes.
I could just eat a bowl of mashed potatoes with a load of butter and a little salad cream. I keep butter out too until summer sets in then l have to store it in the fridge as it just becomes a dish of oil. Love your meals.
Everything looks delicious yummy. Thank you for sharing Tamara have a blessed evening stay safe and healthy. 🙏❤ I'm going to make dinner tonight from prepper pantry. 💕💕💕
Oh this is a GREAT video! Thank you so much for sharing ideas for shelf stable meals!! I think a lot of people struggle with ideas for shelf stable meals. I know I'm one of them! lol. Keep up the good work! Also just FYI you can by dehydrated eggs they have a shelf life of about 10 years. They're a bit pricey but might be something to consider. Augason Farms sells them on Amazon. God bless.
Great recipes and ideas to keep in mind .. Thank you !
I always keep butter out too 😊
I really enjoyed this type of video! Everything looked really good. Thank you!
I cook almost everything in a old school Aroma rice cooker. I do stir fry in it, bacon, taco meat, sloppy joes, scrambled eggs, macaroni, hard boiled eggs, pan fried shrimp and a bunch more.If you can do it in a skillet or a pot or dutch oven you can do it in a rice cooker.Any canned meat would also wok great.
Everything looks sooo good. Especially the shredded beef one.
I haven't finished the video yet but these ideas are brilliant. Thank you for sharing!
Tamara, I really enjoy your videos and these soup recipes look delicious.
I use butter in my butter dish too! Thanks for the ideas Tamara, great video!
Thank you,great ideas.
Excited for this!!
I just made a mac and cheese with bbq viennas and yours looks way better than mine! This is such a good video, I love how creative you can get with shelf stable meals. I can't wait to see more!
These look really delicious. I keep my butter on the counter as well!!
Doesn’t it melt
@@jesusloves713 no it doesn’t.
I leave my butter out on the counter all the time. No problems
Looks good!!!
Truly enjoyed this video. Great meals. They all look so delicious. 🤤😋🤤
Great recipes I'm excited to try them both. Just gotta find the canned beef first.
It's Vee-enna sausages, like Vienna, Austria. I was anxious to see how this would come out, but it looks really good! May have to try that. I have tons of shelf stable meal kits, but not that one. Thanks!
Add aBout a tsp to table spoon of sugar to corn. Makes the corn go up a level
Wonderful ideas thanks for the share 😀.
I love this
Great meals! They look great and love cooking out of the pantry :)
I was just thinking that I needed to look for some recipes for the stock I have at the house! Thank you! ❤️
Great ideas.
Well, you just gave me a good 3 meals in a bag for my pantry. THHANK YOU! Love that last meal there, I have ALL the ingredients for it, I got to try it. I know it would taste really cool with some butter! Oh man, at 6AM you have me hungry for dinner!
Spam fried rice is pretty good. Make sure to get the low sodium Spam! Even that is to salty. Spam can be used in place of ham and bacon and be pretty tasty. And, you can cook the beef in BBQ sauce and put it over biscuits from a baking mix.
Thank you for doing this. It is super helpful. I always keep butter out on the counter too
For the Jasmine rice, it is a microwaveable bag. Squeeze the bag a few times to break it up, tear off one of the corners, and then pop it in the microwave for 90secs. That will make it easier to work with. Cuts down on your time in the pan and also you will not have to take the effort to break it apart. Less likely to get everywhere that way also. Hope that helps.
These meals are emergency meals, so in a case of an emergency you won’t have a microwave. That’s why I didn’t use it in this video.
In the veggie Mac you could use a canned cheese product if you don't like Velveeta. Have t been able to eat Velveeta since they took all of the milk and cheese out of it
You can use powdered scrambled eggs in the stirfry, tastes better than plain powdered eggs. Ive used them when running out of eggs, also mixed with one regular egg to make eggs go farther and taste even better.
Greatly enjoyed this & took notes!! You seem like a very sweet lady!!
This was a great video! Those recipes were interesting and they looked really good! I was pleasantly surprised 😃
Thank you so much for sharing these recipes! I've been looking for easy pantry meals and I just added a couple!
Thank you! Such great ideas,it really got me thinking! Of course the butter stays on the counter! ❤️
I knew there is canned bacon at a very high price, but the alterative you discovcered is great ! Thanks
I always keep butter dish on my table too...got the idea from my sister law! Also my day law has same butter dish as u...she live pioneer woman!
These all look delicious something I would definitely eat. Great job!
Hi there! I’m brand new to your channel. This was my first video and I subscribed. Now that I’m prepped, I’m looking for ideas how to use it all. Thank you for your video and giving me some great ideas.
We do the butter on the counter too! It’s so much better that way! Great recipes and tips. -S
It,s so so good 💖🔆🤪
Ty for the meal ideas!
Thanks Tamara, for sharing some Yummy Efficient meal ideas!😋😋
Wonderful
Those meals looked good. I don't eat corn but I would eat green peas instead. TFS!
Great video and yummy meals 🥰
Thank you so much for sharing these! Olive oil would be MUCH better. Vegetable oil and seed oils are the worst things you can put in your body, along with margarines and other fake spreads. (Some doctors say even worse than sugar!) Avocado oil and coconut oil are also healthy oils, along with the olive oil.
Thanks for the ideas. I was just sitting here wondering if spam could be substitute for the beef. That keystone beef is kinda pricey lately. Guess I will have to try it. Thanks for the ideas 🙂
Love this! Thank you!
I've kept butter on my counter for 55 years. Still kicking.
🙌🏻
Ive been trying to practice meals with my food preps and they haven’t been too tasty so far. Glad I found your Chanel. I didn’t know you could buy velveeta cheese sauce packs. Already ordered them 😊
Velveeta cheese sauce packs are life! Welcome! 😍
I wanna try these out, thank you! I subbed.
👍😊
These are great ideas!
That canned beef is very expensive
$6.99 at Walmart
Excellent, nice & the best 👌🏻 looks so too much tasty ,I liked it 👍
Awesome video, thanks 👍👍👍
How do you know when condiment package is out of date? Just don’t think they were created to have a long shelf life.
Some have dates, some don’t. I have a working prepper pantry, so we use the food. Restock it as needed. But expiration dates don’t bother me. It’s just a “best by” date doesn’t mean it is bad.
How long does your butter stay on the counter?
I keep a stick out at all time. I have for years.
I am so excited for this!😍
So creative and looks very tasty. :-). LovefromFL 💕

What would be good to substitute teriyaki sauce? I don't like teriyaki. Would sweet and sour be ok?
Yes you can!
