Adderall didn't seem to work for me and seemed to accentuate negative feelings. I'm going to try to switch to Dexedrine.
Lately I've seen online that others have been complaining of a lack of effectiveness of their adhd meds over the past few months too, so I don't know if this indicates an actual issue going on with the makers of these products. I wouldn't know anything about that but if its true I'd very much like to know.

I am just about to be prescribed concerta, here in eastern europe we dont even have vyvanse or adderall. But my exact goal is what you describ3d: to use medication for the sole purpose of getting to not need medication. I have tried for a year now to just simply imply some rules and hacks and pomodoro and other techniques but i failed after very short periods, so i hope to get a boost while developing helpful habits, and... maybe after that once in a while when important events occur which demand focus. But i will discuss that with my psychiatrist.

No idea why.but vyvanse or elvanse as I know it here in the UK, well, at 70g I ended up having a seizure that's temporarily taken away my driving licence, so I'd absolutely say get a dosette box to make sure you are taking it correctly. We don't know if it was me forgetting I'd already taken a dose or an issue because I'd taken 70mg I don't know. But it's definitely one not to mess with or change the dose of without speaking to whoever oversees your care. But I never heard of it as a elvanse issue before.

Been using Ritalin since 2009 and now at 36 finally switched to Vyvanse and is working pretty well. My doc said that it has to increase the dose since I’m only taking 30mg for the first week but so far I’m doing well. To me, just like Ritalin, it doesn’t last more than 6 hours per dose to be honest, I don’t know how they come up with those 10 to 12 hours lasting but I never experienced that, I used to take up to 60mg of Ritalin a day, 20mg every 4 to 5 hours to keep it up.
My problem with Vyvanse tho is the crash that due my dosage at the moment it occurs way too soon, but hopefully increasing the dose that problem will be solved, after a week my doc told me ton increase to 60mg and see if it needs more or not. So far the treatment looks promising.

My doctor just switched me to concerta, so I'll start that tomorrow and hopefully that'll work better.

Concerta has too much active dose variation for me, there's a smooth gradiant from too low to too high as it gets released and I get both high dose and low dose side effects from it at different times of the day. I do so much better on timed release meds like ritalin because they release a bunch of active ingredient at once.

Started on an SSRI before diagnosed because i also have anxiety. started Vyvanse.. currently 50mg started with 20 and slowly went up .. problem is the anxiety is still their.. The Vyvanse helps me focus and my émotions are much better but it increases my anxiety.. not physically but mentally and im ruminating or obsessing about silly things lol .. I also notice I'm picking at my nails and skin on my hands more ( always have but more often now) Is this common... ? Good callout on being able to open the Vyvanse capsule to mix with soft food/drink if needed. Please steer clear of orange juice as a choice for mixing as it can result in ineffective absorption of the medication resulting in variations in resulting effectiveness. Individuals mixing with orange juice may require a higher dosage and then when taking without orange juice, may notice it more intensely. If this happens, diluting medication in 10ml of water per 10mg of medication and drinking less than the full amount can help step down in dose if the dosage prescribed is too high and a lower effective dose is advised. (example: if prescribed 50mg that results in increased side effects where 40mg is better tolerated, mixing a 50mg capsule in 50 ml of water and drinking only 40ml of the solution will result in the equivalent of a 40mg dosage). Use the lowest effective dose is better in the long run.

@Sultan MDN hi. Concerta didn't work at all! I felt even less motivated/energised than when I was unmedicated & my hunger was of the scale! I am now back on Elvanse but at 50mg because the 60-70mg made me a bit jittery. My psych thought it might work better because I have been off it for a month. So far, it has given me energy but not as much as I remember from the last time. It is suppressing my appetite enough to stop me eating between meals but my mind is still cluttered & nothing seems to be helping that which is what I hoping for most. My psych said he might try me on non stimulants if elvanse isn't working they way I want it to. Starting to lose hope that I will find anything that will help me enough. Thanks for asking.

You’ve mentioned on a couple of videos that Vyvanse can be mixed with orange juice. I am pretty sure this is bad advice. Vitamin C and acidic food can essentially neutralize it in the gut. Some folks that have taken it after waking up in the middle of the night not realizing it isn’t yet morning and drink orange juice for this exact purpose so they can go back to sleep until a more appropriate time. Also, the interactions with Vitamin C and acidic foods are listed in all of the documentation and recommended not to be taken until at least an hour after taking Vyvanse.
