100% agree...there will never be another Iowa. I think this song would fit right in on The Gray Chapter...Custer, AOV, The Negative One (VERY similar sounding song)...are just as heavy as this song. Good song anyway...I just do not think Iowa.
To me it's more like songs off vol 3 , it's more disjointed but still heavy as , but will just have to wait and see what the other songs on the album are like , I hope they will be iowa heavy

I thought the Grey Chapter was close to Iowa. The Devil in I wasn’t but Custer, The Negative One, Sarcastrophe all reminded me of Iowa

You know, Slipknot gets a bad rap by a lot of people who dismiss them as a “gimmick” because of the masks and whatnot, but they rarely disappoint and are an VERY talented band. Corey Taylor’s versatility as a vocalist/musician is nearly unrivaled, and he seems like a really cool dude, to boot.
and they built their career on their live shows. That's what real bands do. They deserve a ton of credit for that.
The Slipknot guys are great musicians in their own right!
Slipknot never released a bad album. Never sold out and started making pop music like FFDP and Linkin Park.

Interesting. Groove reminded me a bit of Iowa material but with alot of the feel of their first album. Really really liked this song. Good stuff! When it was said they were trying to go back to the heavier sound of earlier material I had a hard time buying it. But they weren't lying. The breakdown with the spoken word part was a noticable change as well. 9.5/10

Ok I relent, the jazzman drummer is a beast. Fantastic lines in this song. I think my critique of him previously was based on how he plays Joey's work. His own shit is top tier. Great job Mr. Jazzman Drummer.

He's a great drummer, but i still feel it's missing some of those frantic fills that Joey threw in a lot. This might be because Joey had death/black/extreme metal influences. But after hearing Jay Weinberg on the last album and this new song I feel it highlights how crazy/intense of a drummer Joey was and what the song is missing. but don't get me wrong the song is a beast.....just focusing on the drums for the sake of comparison.

I love your channel and I'm try to watch almost all your video's and i was been a fan of slipknot.they one of my favorites metal bands. they are some of they albums that i like but i like to listen to they're older albums. 5 gery chapter is probably one of the they're best album

This does take me back to the late 90s, I remember seeing them on their first tour and was a great show! Y’all should try another Between the Buried and Me song, yes the last one was part of a concept album, most of them are. Maybe try White Walls from the same album or something from another album like Swim to the Moon.

Every reaction I've seen you do with Corey Taylor's songs whether it be for slipknot or stone sour you actually take the time to really break down what he's saying in song lyrics. You seem to truly understand his messages. Its not like the other reaction channels that are like ok I like this part of that part. You guys literally break it down part by part and try to get what he's saying. I respect that as a slipknot fan. Great reaction video. Looking forward to the album. Have you 2 only heard Devil And I off the previous album? Because there’s a lot of insanely heavy tracks on it. Sarcastrophe and AOV are Iowa heavy and it’s the first 2 actual songs off that album. Lol I’ve never been disappointed in Slipknot. They’ve always been a massive talent no matter what “transition” they went through. They’ve always been Slipknot and always sounded like Slipknot. Its just the evolution of their journey and sound.

I watched a video of a live slipknot show, and saw a comment that was talking about how Corey was starting to sound like his old self vocally. So I just wanted to hear a new song to see if it would sound like the older stuff.
