    “How do two brothers get into the nail care business?” This is the single most common question people ask us. There’s a long and rocky version but we’ll give you the short one. We have our fearless and unconventional mother, Young Salo, to thank. With a single-minded entrepreneurial spirit, she decided to start her own business at the age of 49. She had a passion for the nail industry and we did everything in our power to support her. In the end, this is a family business.
    Greg, the older brother, became a licensed nail technician after switching gears from fire fighter’s training. He is energy personified and has a true passion for developing the best professional nail care products and education. Habib is the younger brother. He jumped in a few years later; taking a detour from medical school and a life in music. He brings his own creative mind for business, marketing and strategy. Unexpectedly, we are a perfect team.
    Today, more than 20 years later, Young Nails Inc., is a professional nail care manufacturing company exporting to over 40 countries worldwide and distributing domestically to over 3000 stores. We’re respected for our next-level product innovation and education. Our mission is to bring you the best quality products and we’ll show you how to use them with incredible results. It’s really that simple.
    Welcome to the Young Nails family!

We were supposedly doing both hands? Then you normally charge + $5 per glitter... 4 nails ... With a break for only charging once for the glitter, = $125.00. ?? What is she suppose to price, the work she did in front of our/the clients eyes or the work of some one else whose set looks completely different from hers ? If she said $170 for everything would you have felt complete in life or left questioning why she is charging for things she never did? I can see in the inspo pic the tech used two Swarovski crystals on the pinky, a bunch of ss7 on the ring fingers, likely clear cavair or Swarovski Crystal pixie, and a bunch of crystals on the index fingers..

      Pixie stones cost me 39.00, so if I used 1/2 the jar on this design I would add about $80 to the bill. I have to be able to repurchase those supplies again and make a profit on my "time & artistic flair" for the design and the initial nails..... So $182.00

You must always remember that if you are using a high cost item, charge them no less than double because you do have to repurchase the supplies and you should always make a profit while being able to pay yourself for the work without losing a penny.

    People just wouldn’t pay this sort of money in the UK where I live. There’s so many techs only charging from between £25 to £35. There’s also a lot of techs only charging between £15 to £20. It makes me sick because there’s so much work gos into working as a nail tech and people just don’t realise or appreciate this. I’ll be starting out soon and I’ve been training for 6 years to perfect all my skills. This is disheartening I just don’t know what to do over pricing. I think people do just pay more in the states anyway, remember it is much cheaper living there in general than here. Could you imagine anyone paying close to 50 quid for a set of nails here? No chance! Even though these were a super pretty set, considering gems are so cheap and so is glitter I think $107 is extortionate.

    • @annabor1000
      @annabor1000 Před 5 lety +2

      Heres the thing, others should not be determining your pricing. Does it factor in? Of course ,but you need to figure out how much you need to charge to pay for your supplies used, rent, and to pay yourself and your bills. If someone comes to you and can only afford 30 pounds then they get a basic set if that's what you need to charge for a basic set. Don't give them a blinged out set because you'll be working for free. You need to charge your worth and also give amazing quality. You will not have trouble getting clients

    • @annabor1000
      @annabor1000 Před 5 lety +1

      Im a nail tech in Trinidad. We could never charge that here and have repeat business. It comes down to cost of living. Our exchange rate would be at about $7 TTD to $1 USD. At that rate this set would be over $700. Only the elite techs can charge that and get away with it and yet still their stuff is much more bling etc than this. I do more elaborate things than this daily and average about 250 - 300 TTD per set thats about 45 - 50 USD. Its just not possible with our economy to charge like this. Gently and kindly mention pricing. Explain the cost and total! No surprises at the end when you reveal the total. Many clients will be shocked at an astronomical price, even if it's totally justified!! Some clients have absolutely no qualms about costs and gladly leave a generous tip. Depends on the client. Cost should definitely be discussed.

      sometimes it helps if they send pictures of what they are wanting and this allows you to give them a ballpark figure of what that set would cost so there are no surprises. ❤️

    Say if she comes with no acrylics on . like she came with her natural nails how much?

    The long cover pink almonds just look so good on Tracy .. I know she hates pink but if she knew how good it looks on her nails she’d wear a full set 24/7.. I don’t like pink either except my nails I always do pink or nude with a silver or grey even white sometimes.. I know it’s boring I’ll do whatever colors my clients want..just me with the nudes and basics

    Is there a way to eliminate the smell of monomer ?

    • @CreatedByNoriElan
      @CreatedByNoriElan Před 5 lety

      There is odorless monomer. Most will have the distinctive scent. Carbon filters and air purifiers may help eliminate the scent. Airing out if possible a work space may help as well.

    Can you add jewels over your hard top coat?

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  Před rokem +1

      If you are using glue to adhere them, yes. However they may not adhere long term. We recommend using gel to adhere them and this has to be applied to either a tacky surface or a filed surface.

      @@youngnailsinc thank you for your reply, I’m 70 years old & I’ve been teaching myself how to do dip powder nails. I’m loving all your advice & I feel like I’m doing really well. They stay on 4-5 weeks, no lifting, no chipping, no problems. But now I want to start learning how to do some stamping & putting jewels on. Kinda going out of an old ladies comfort zone. With all your videos & quick responses I feel very confident I’ll do it. At first I was shaky using my left hand but now it doesn’t bother me at all. I Would take a picture to show you all. But I’m not that techie. I do this to keep my mind active & have lovely hands. So if I’m asking dumb questions I apologize. Your team has been such an inspiration for me. Thank you again, you are all wonderful. P.s. if one time you would do a start to finish on nail stamping that would be wonderful,

    Ok, I'm confused...
    You mentioned charging for the removal, but then didn't...
    You only charged for the full set and the art...
    Is it because you clipped them off, instead of filing them off??
    And we were pretending that you did all 10 nails right??
    😊

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  Před rokem

      Yes, so she priced it as a full set of acrylic because we are pretending the client came in and all nails are the blue ombre so she would have to clip off and re-sculpt all the nails.
      Yes, it's all 10 nails in theory.
