I only started playing this game 2 months ago, and although this game is extremely frustrating, I have enjoyed(most of the time) getting better.
Watching you play this actually makes it look pretty fun
It almost makes me want to come back
Balance is another HUGE issue. Nobu for example. All of her attacks do INSANE damage. Lights are 15, heavies are 30-35. All that ontop of bleed. Feels like old raider again where if you mess up even once, say bye bye to half your health bar.
Nobu's issue is that she is fully reactable with some of the worst offense in the game. So she really sucks to fight if you're new, and she really sucks to play if you're good.
Nobu is practically useless if you can react, but idk if I'm saying is right

For Honor for new players huh?
My brother's a LoL player so toxicity is basically flowing freely through his veins and it's not as if he's dumb 'cause he's capable of grasping strategy better than I can.
A game like For Honor though? He has to chase the braincells in order to make things click and frankly I get it, For Honor's gameplay is not intuitive and is very awkward to get used to. It's easier with a controller though, that's for sure but there needs to be a proper tutorial mode as Story Mode is way outdated and still possesses the original Warden moveset. So imagine going there and then trying online, thinking "this'll be fun!" only to realize you're playing an entirely different hero.
To this day I still can't get him to try the game again simply because of how much bs there is. My boyfriend just presses random buttons and I've a harder time fighting him than I do some higher reps with plenty of game knowledge and skill. A beginner with a basic sense of stamina management can utterly destroy you simply because they don't know their moveset that well and so it's near impossible to read them. That's a thing that does piss me off at least.
I only got into the game back when it was slower pre-CCU. It felt more paced and not as tryhard (except for the big damage numbers with gear back then, those Warden top heavies man...) picked the game up easily and I only had to get used to new stuff one thing at a time, new players get the knowledge dumped on them. I was telling my bf about how to play Varangian and how her moveset works and his response was "...Uh..." For Honor just makes no sense with how much they're turning all their heroes into versatile characters. Everyone and their grandmother is a jack of all trades but a master of none. Only a few heroes retained their identity throughout the game's updates and I wish it wasn't the case. I can only hope and inhale that copium, that ubi will stop trying to give every hero literally everything and that the new heroes will not be a simply better version of another one. (Seriously, Tiandi's a dodge-specialist, why are his dodges worse than Pirate's?)
Okay wow this turned into a whole rant. Sorry for that but yeah... game's got flaws but I love it to bits as it is in the end one of a kind.
