Dabo never really was behind Kelly Bryant and I think that took a toll on him mentally and that injury he suffered against Syracuse further put him back
He never had an injury against Syracuse.. Dabo caved to the fanbase and benched him for a fresh out of hs Trevor Lawrence. This is after he started the season 4-0. He was 16-2 as a starter (8 of those top 25 wins) and they couldn’t get rid of him quick enough.. WILD
College coaches make a lot of money to make difficult decisions, this is prime example. It' obvious the correct decision was made and Clemson won the NC. That being said, I was fortunate to see KB play hs ball and he was an absolute beast! Glad he is doing well, he is a fine man.

From my recollection of the rules at the time, if Dabo had waited one more game to name Lawrence the starter, KB would have had to sit out the next season. It was the right decision, and it put KB in the best position to be successful with another team. I was at the next Clemson game and the entire stadium was wishing KB was still on the sidelines when Lawrence got knocked out of the game. Chase Bryce saved the season and became a hero that day.

Similar to the Cade McNamara and JJ Mcarthy story. While I feel bad for the guys, I feel they both handled it poorly. Jalen Hurts handled getting replaced the best, imo. He stayed for the end of the season, supported Tua and the team, and transferred in the offseason for another opportunity
