Great review bro, awesome job and really glad to hear there is a bike for you and me now available from the big boys like cervelo. Just a quick note to take for the future videos - please use conversion when talking about weights and lengths. That would be super convenient. Great review 👏🏽. I have the factory 105 version of this bike . $3400. It's my first road bike coming from the fixie scene. For the frame being $2700 to the entry level entire build being $ 3400, I couldn't pass it up. So far , I too am loving it. I noticed all my downhill segments take the fastest time of the day on strava without fully pushing it 100 percent. It's effortless.
In a year or so I too plan on upgrading to the Ultegra Di2 12 speed groupset. Glad to know you like that combo.

Just got my 2023 Soloist in Alpenglow. It is SO good. I built the frame up and used an S-Works Venge stem with the same exact hose clip as Cervelo's.
Should look super close to how mine looks LOL! CONGRATS BROTHER!
Great review and thanks for sharing. I have the Cervelo R5 and really I love it she rides great but don’t want to ride it everyday specially if its rains. I also have a Sl7 Tarmac pro I use that as my workhorse bike but I’m thinking of replacing it with the Cervelo soloist in the coming months. I want to buy just the frameset and put my own components. Thank you so much for the kind words. Seems like you got some nice bikes! What I wanted to mention but failed to do so in the video was how I felt about Tarmac SL7 being an apple-to-apple comparison with a Soloist. Very comparable and would suit anyone quite well if you ask me.
Great review, my bike is on order, purchased white frame and doing a custom build with Ultegra Di2 and Ultegra C50 wheels, can't wait to go on my first ride. Switching from a Dogma F8, mechanical and rim brakes.
Congrats! Your build is pretty close to my build. I'm running Ultegra Di2 with Dura Ace C50 wheels. Tall order to be compared against a F8 but she will serve you well.
Thanks for the review DC. I just purchased a Soloist with the gold frame and ultegra build. I’ve only had the chance to ride it once since winter is here (I live about an hour outside Chicago) so your experience further confirms my decision to get it. As a Porsche guy I might argue that it is like a 911, fantastic ride quality with speed when you want to go fast and a great all rounder.

CONGRATS on the Soloist! A very similar build as mine then. That Chicago winter... lord... I'm just happy the Soloist didn't set me back like a 911 would have, so 718 was my choosing. Personally in real life, Panamera is the one in my garage at the moment. Hopefully warm days would show up soon for you to head out on your bike soon sir.

Love it, just got this soloist in alpine glow mix ultegra / 105 with 50mm Hunt carbon hoops. Too cold in Chicago atm to ride outdoors but can't wait.

Like so many others have said in the comments I've been impatiently waiting for your full review of the Soloist and... you did not disappoint. Excellent production, presentation and style. And the judges say.... it's a 10 across the board! Can't thank you enough for this insightful review and for what you do. As I approach the endgame of making a decision for my one and done all arounder it's not something I take lightly. Going to be dropping some real coin (for me) building the bike up from the frame. I kept questioning myself is it the soloist or R5, ect.? Been driving myself bananas with my indecision especially since not being close to the experience level of others on the message board. I really need to get this right on the 1st go around. I'm in Los Angeles several of the bike shops regrettably just want to sell inventory (which I totally get) and are basing their opinions and advice on this not necessarily what's best for me. One substantial dealership in particular when I asked if he could build up a soloist for me just trashed the bike and said he wouldn't even offer it in his store and urged me to reconsider the R5 (which is a kick ass bike). So, it's been confusing/tough getting conflicting opinions over here and why your review(s) are so amazing and appreciated. It's exactly like sitting down with a buddy over a couple beers. Gerry. Thanks for your kind words. Means a ton to me. I make these review videos EXACTLY for folks considering to purchase so I can add value to a decision making process. I must say I don't like ANY bike shops in LA (more on that later with a different episode). Admittedly R5 is a great bike and you wouldn't go wrong with one. That said, I reckon the smart money is on Soloist for the same reasons I mentioned in my video. You would save a few bucks over a R5 and can use that money towards an epic set of wheels I reckon.
@gerrylerner8310 My guy! Dude I’ve been debating several bikes coming from a trek Domane. I just finished posting a few comments above about my similar situation of conflicting opinions and bike shop reviews. My buddy used to have a cervelo r5 I believe and I just ride it once but too many bikes ago that I can’t remember. Everyone says it has that cervelo feel to it and it’s pretty frustrating since no shops nearby have any in stock to at least put a leg over it. DC and a few others have offered great insight that brings comfort as I am also looking at building this bike from the frame as I found some great deals on sram force on competitive cyclist.
Just ordered a soloist coming from a domane too - did you make the leap?

100% to all you said. When it’s all said and done, it’s always going to about our level of fitness. Not grams or aero design. “Professional level” athletes whether paid or not, are athletic anomalies. They could ride any frame material and any brands model and perform at very high levels compared to us mortals. The trap for many is getting caught up in the marketing of a brands’s levels and model designations, and that’s totally ok if your goal is showing up on a Ferrari or Porsche and image. The reality is, focusing on the techniques to become better at cyclist. For that all it takes is getting out and riding. Pick a goal and with periodized training the extra funds could go to quality seasonal wearables and a competent Coaching Service. Now go crush your next ride. Ride safe and often. Peace
Indeed, I have friends that have top end bikes but their fitness level sucks. My other friends with older bikes dropped them all the time. Unless you are a professional then yes you’ll get top of the line bike. Well said 👍🏼

Great review and it echos a lot of my feelings for the Soloist. I have the black frame in size 56 with the Force build. I have not ridden the stock Reserve wheels that came with it, as I threw on my Enve 45’s that I already had set up tubeless with Pirelli tires. I also own a few other Cervelos to compare against this bike. I own a 2022 R5 with Force, a 2019 S5 with Dura Ace 11 speed and Enve 6/5 wheels and a 2018 R5 rim brake with Dura Ace 11 speed and Enve 4/5’s. It’s a long story why I have all these bikes but I will not bore everyone with that. Here are my thoughts on the Soloist while keeping in mind I don’t weigh my bikes, I don’t test anything in a wind tunnel and I don’t have a vernier to measure anything. I just ride bikes and have been doing it for 38 years:
1. Looks: I like how the bike looks a lot and I am OK with the seat post. I feel like it was really well executed and I smile every time I reach for the bike to ride it. I can see where the seat post may turn folks off but it doesn’t bother me.
2. Functionality: I like that I can work on this bike more than others that are disc brake. The bike was designed around the enthusiast to be able to do some of their own work and customize it a bit.
3. Ride Quality: very good. I feel like I can ride all day on it and it won’t beat me up but the 28 mil tires help a lot with that and the geometry suits my fit well.
4. Price: this is still an expensive bike as you noted. I got my 2018 R5 on sale and it has Dura Ace and I didn’t pay much more for it at the time. That said, everything has gotten crazy so the Soloist price point is less crazy.
5. Comparison to my other bikes: nothing beats my 2018 R5 rim brake bike. That one will never get sold. That said, in the modern line up I would say the S5 I have is seat of the pants faster but it will wear you down on longer rides just due to the position it throws you in. It’s difficult to dial your fit in correctly on that bike because of its proprietary nature. The new R5 is a bit lighter but that’s it. I would not spend the money on it knowing what I know. Get the Soloist and save yourself the money. Buy equipment with the difference or a favorite set of wheels even though the stock Reserve wheels seem to be fairly good. I ride the stock Reserve wheels on my new R5 and they are good.
6. Cons of the Soloist: Disc brakes but that is more a fact of life now. Unless you live in the mountains where screaming downhill is going to happen or you live in England where it rains all the time, I feel you don’t need them. They are touchy, higher maintenance and a pain in the butt. Rant over, but that is my only con and that’s not the bike’s fault

Thank you to the both of you! DC, your reviews are superb and with Scott’s input I am definitely more confident that this is my next bike. I am coming from a ‘20 Domane sl6 which I understand is an upright ride and I love that bike but I did feel I was missing a lot of what this bike seems to offer, snappy, quick, responsive and just looks really cool to look at it and just want to go out and ride. I fell in love with the white since I come from black only frames, and the idea of building my own bike sparked as you shared that the frame is 2700. My only concern is how has this bike felt after a long ride (80miles). Any feedback right there is really appreciated. I live in the Monterey bay area and can stay flat or hit hills fairly close by, think the Carmelo fondo route at Sea Otter. Thank you guys again, great work DC, love all the guitars too😍
@@guillermocamachobarajas3517 I can concur with how you feel about the Domane. I had a 2020 Domane SL7 and traded it in for the Soloist. The Domane was comfortable but dead on the road. I think you will be much happier with the Soloist. That said, if you have a lot of climbing to do and you can spring for it, I might suggest the R5 as a better choice. It is lighter by a small amount but I’m not sure it’s worth the extra $$$$$. You can take the savings with the Soloist and upgrade some items to get the weight down and still be $ ahead with a bike that fits just like an R5. In any event you will be way ahead of where the Domane is.
@@guillermocamachobarajas3517 Guillermo, I've done number of centuries on the Soloist especially to chew through miles required for Rapha Festive 500 as we wrapped up the year. ZERO issue in terms of comfort and compliance. I gotta return to Monterey Bay... Love riding out there...

Nice vid but you know I own a Cervelo R3 with rim brakes weighting in at only 16.1 lbs and it is the smoothest riding bike I have ever owned! I’ve got an ultegra drive train and it’s super smooth too. I ride up n down hills here in Texas and have gone as fast as 40 mph and have all the confidence in my bike. I think that Cervelo just now made a copy of the R3 and called it the soloist. Anyways great handeling bike and super fun to ride anywhere!!

I'm about a year after this video but it's still perfect for me as I'm looking to buy a soloist in size 51 just like yours. I'm coming from a 48 Cannondale SSE. One thing with always being on the small spectrum of bike sizes is the geometry is always different to how they originally designed the bike. Smaller sizes always get different angles and measurements sometimes changing the bike characteristics completely, but on the soloist it doesn't seem too bad so I'm going for it. Thank you for your review I appreciate it from another small size rider. 👏
I’m thinking the same thing, could I kindly ask how tall you are I’m just shy of 5.7. With quite a short inseam of 29inches and the 51 seem like it would fit just right

Great review, though I would say Sastre was on an R3sl in 2008 (earlier he was on the R2.5). When he joined Cervelo Test team he started to ride the S3. Bike wise I think a Soloist vs Propel pro 2023 could be a good comparison for self funded racers. Both seem to target the aero at a reasonable weight market while avoiding the prices more comparable to motorbikes seen with their top end bikes.
I might have misled if that's how it came off. I was trying to say something along the lines of how 2008 was a high year for Cervelo winning the tour albeit with a rider less likely. You would think I would have English down pat by now but NOPE! :) Thanks for your time watching!!!

Just ran across your channel and enjoyed your Soloist review immensely and subscribed. I am of the vintage where I actually had a 2008 Cervelo RS back in the day with the new “squoval” tubes. Before that I was on a 2004 Dual Triathlon bike. I moved onto a 2009 Wilier Cento Uno for many years and then cycling lost out to motorcycles for years. I found my way back two summers ago and bought a used one owner 2017 S3 Di2 with ENVE wheel option. Absolutely fell in love with cycling again and have started wondering about the new Soloist. Would I notice much difference between the S3 and Soloist? I notice on your list you owned a S3 at one point.

The only Cervelo I had was a 2010 R3, but it didn't survive Crit racing - repeated seat stay breakage. Replaced it with a CAAD 10 frame - indestructible.
CAAD 10 should never be slept on. Such a solid solid solid solid frame

I’m going back and forth between Soloist ultegra di2 and Caledonia 5 ultegra di2. Leaning a bit towards the Soloist now based on the review.
I was originally wanting a bit of a more relaxed frame geometry over my Casd9.. something more towards Endurance, but heck, the Soloist seems pretty relaxed as well.
Question.. what is your height? And your measured inseam? I’m 68” tall and right at 30” inseam. Going by Cervelo’s fit chart, I fall right in the middle of the size 54.
When I test rode a Trek Domane 2023 model.. it was a size 52 and fit great.
Also, I ride a 52 Caad9, and its a good fit as well.

Now in 2024 factor realices de new ostro vam 2.0 and in terms of price with the same spec like force axs the difference its about 1000us; taking in count the spec of the ostro and the revision of the entire bike, what do you opine about it? What wold you choose or recomend me?

After further analysis, it looks like there are multiple offset seat posts depending on the size of the frame. It looks like the 54 seatpost has more of a rear offset compared to the 51, so you should be able to get the offset seat post from your local retailer. I was told by Cervelo that I could order zero offset through a retailer if I needed one, so maybe look into that?
Thanks for that info. I found a fit that works for me currently, so no real big issue for me at this time. If the dumb looking post bothers me more, perhaps I will look into. I've never been a stickler for how things look historically so long as my bike rolls nicely, so who knows LOL...

Hi Tristan! Thanks for your time watching! Now, I did not know the dev team was riding Soloists. That said, I think it makes perfect sense for younger dev team boys to be on this platform as it literally is one-bike-do-all where they don't have the budget to get an aero on top of a light dedicated climber like the Jumbo boys. Like mentioned, the fit does render towards a racy fit with low stack, I can totally see it. Now that they left Shimano, they probably will also run the same Reserve wheels I reckon. In terms of budget for a dev team as such, that totally makes sense.

i like a lot your approach on the frameset review it's just a different perspective not the forever usual 2% stiffer 4% more aero 1% lighter that just makes one sleepy and we all know by now is just a plain old lie mirrors and smoke show i won't be getting a new bike any time soon i just got a new one a few months ago and we have a very happy marriage so far also i don't hate disc brakes but i don't want them on my bike as of now but i still watch your channel because of the good vibe and style you project and transmit 😎👍

Would you consider this an "all road" bike. Meaning does it handle rough and cracked roads well? I am going from a Canyon Ultimate CF SL which i love but am looking for sownthing i can pit wider tires on to handle rough roads better while not losing speed, climbing ability or accelerarion.

I’m wondering how you set up the ACR bars - do you need one of FSAs adaptors or can it just sit flush? Or use an Aspero-5 headset cover?
Hi Julian. Thanks for your time watching! The bar stem combo was on 2 of my other bikes eventually ending up on my Soloist. I didn't use any adapter. Mine is old enough where it didn't carry ACR badging on it though, so perhaps the newer ACR ones have different fit? I couldn't tell ya.
I am buying a new bike this summer. I have test road a Cinelli, an Open Min.D, a Cannondale Supersix Evo, and a Cervelo Caledonia 5. The Cervelo Soloist is so hard to find. It’s like searching for a white whale. But, the owner of my neighborhood bike shop had one, which was much too small for me. But OMG, it was beautiful. I am going to wait a couple months for a shipment to come. So far I love the Open Min.D and the Cervelo Caledonia. But I’m waiting because your review made me want to test ride the Soloist. Ugh! Damn you DC!!!!

This was the first video I found on the Soloist which really covers a lot about the bike, thanks for the great information you put out in your bike reviews, they are super helpful.
I am looking to upgrade from my longtime old Alloy frame no brand bike.
I test rode:
Cervelo Caledonia
Cervelo Soloist $7k (Highlights: Lightweight, slices through the air)
Cannondale Supersix Evo 3 $7k (Highlights: Vision Trimax Aero bars, Agile / fast / lightweight)
ORBEA ORCA M30I TEAM $5k discounted from $7k (Highlights: Comfortable, seems in the middle of the Soloist / SSE)
All these bikes are amazing, it is going to be hard to pick one as there is something unique about each bike.
The Orbea is heavier and not as snappy as the Soloist or SSE but nonetheless it was very capable and nice to ride and is $2k cheaper which could be put into better wheels possibly.
I am going to re-test the bikes again but will ride them further away instead of around the block to get a better idea of which bike would suit me.
Thought I would update if anyone is interested to know I chose the Cervelo Soloist, like you say DC it has a slight edge on the Orbea and I felt more comfortable on the Soloist compared with the Cannondale Supersix Evo.
Hi DC, love your videos! Your video convinced me to buy the Soloist and I really enjoyed riding it! I'm looking to install the Metron 5D integrated handlebar on my bike just like you did. Does it require any specialty spacers to make sure the stem sits flush on the bike? Thank you!

DC. Long time follower of your channel. Cervelo Question: I am looking at buying either the R5 or the Caledonia 5. I test rode the Caledonia 5 and loved it. The problem is the R5 is impossible to find especially in SRAM force. My local bike stores are telling the R5 won’t be available till late January and I need to put money down on an order. I sure would like to test drive the R5 before placing an order so I can compare the two. Any ideas? By the way thanks for the advice several months ago on the Envy 4.5 wheels. Absolutely the best things I’ve ever had on my bike, and incredibly safe in the cross winds. If you remember, I had the same issue in the Crosswinds with my Zipp 303S wheels that you did. Thanks again for all your great work.
Thank you for your kind words! As to your quandary of being able to test drive a R5 with no dealer stock, I am not so sure if you are keen on that particular model. If I have to buy bikes sight unseen, I just use Stack/Reach for fitment based on other bikes I've had how they fit. I suspect the ride quality would be similar to other top caliber bikes, but please take that with a grain of salt since I have not ridden an R5. That said, Caledonia and R5 are vastly different as you would know in terms of day to day usage, terrain, etc. I reckon that may have to be the predominant deciding factor? I got my Soloist Gold Dust SRAM Force build 2 weeks ago and two comfortable rides with her. No criticism I can make since I upgrade from a folding bike. Just want to know your suggestion, if I want to upgrade the handle bar (the original alloy one may be one point to be blamed), which one will you suggest? Deda Alanera will be a good choice?(I got the offere from the dealer)

BTW, you got stroke and seizure? OMG, Actually I'm a neurosurgeon from Taiwan but in my opinion you have excellent recovery from those challenges and great to see you ride after those terrible history.
Dr. Hsieh, thank you for your kind words! And CONGRATS on that Soloist of yours! As to the bar, the Deda you mention is awesome, just make sure that it will work with the top of your head tube where the cables will go into. Due to the top dust cap design for Cervelo to accept their stems for their way of cable integration, you may see minor oddities when using something outside of their catalog. I am using a FSA Vision bar and it's 99% acceptable. My strokes and seizures were from hyper ketoacidosis when I was living my life FULLY IGNORING the fact that I was diabetic. I knew I was fit so I was blissfully ignorant with a lifestyle that can only be laughed at now. Since then, I am watching my numbers like how I should have all along. I will be chronicling my journey in an episode early next year. Enjoy that bike of yours, I love me that SRAM Force AXS... Keep the rubber side down out there.

Great to hear your story and also glad to hear that's from DKA which is absolutely a reversible cause of stroke among those more miserable ones. I think it remind you the importance to be respect to your body. And we all should be responsible to ourself and live as positive as you.
I've had two long ride about 100-200km with my soloist, and no critics at all like your comment in those videos. Your response and suggestion of possible upgrade of the handlebar is appreciated. Looking forward for your upcoming high-quality contents. Those are great and tasteful.

hi Chakra. Thanks for your time watching. I have not ridden the new Propel to give you any comment that is substantial. The Propel however is no longer an all-out Aero bike, the new model is more less an all around now featuring some aero bits as well as shedding a ton of weight from the last version. Giant always has good value for money so should be considered I reckon. The Soloist is hard to beat however in all aspects. This is basically my current "main" bike.
The fact that Jumbo Visma chose Soloist in Paris Roubaix speaks volume about how good this bike is

Hi Matt. Thank you so much sir! Tough to answer. I for one do not believe in one size fits all as in generalizing an answer. Too many factors go into the process... I think the Soloist leans closer to an aggressive position despite not as much as what the pros ride. We ain't pros, so let's not think about that though. For a "first" bike, I think it has to be fun more than anything. A bike that isn't fun to ride regardless of how how nice or expensive isn't worth it in the end. It has to be something that excites you and get you out riding... That said, Caledonia is definitely one that is suited for all terrain with a slightly relaxed fit allowing you to sit up a bit taller. You could make Soloist to force you to sit up a bit higher as well using stack spacers then slowly over time go lower if you feel inclined. If you fit is proper, already existing pain wouldn't get worse by riding. If your fit is not proper, that pain will take you off of any bike you sit on.

Hi DC. Longtime follower of the channel, and always thankful for your wisdom. I have a fitting question related to the new Cervelo R5. I’m looking to purchase an R5 size 54 (I’m 5’9” inseam 32”). When I test drove the R5 with a 15 degrees offset seat post, the reach was about 3 cm to long for me compared to my previous bike, Pinarello Paris. The LBS suggested the Cervelo 0 degrees offset seat post to compensate for the problem. I have not tried the bike out with this 0° seat post yet. My gut feeling tells me this is a wrong approach for a good fit. Furthermore, I test drove the Caledonia 5 same size and it fit perfectly without any changes. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. For background information, I ride 800 miles per month, typically 4 rides at 50 miles each per week, my solo- zone 2 speed is 17.5-17.8 mph, and Category A in group rides. Again thanks for your wisdom.
Hi. Thanks for spending your time on my channel, super appreciated! I gotta say it's always a bit iffy to answer fitment questions due to so many variables and individual differences along with individual preferences. I may not be the most suitable person to answer especially since I am not a firm believer in traditional bike fitting school of thoughts personally. Since you mentioned Caledonia and how you fit well on it, I suppose the first thing to look at is the stack/reach numbers on both bikes. I suspect Caledonia may have a bit longer head tube and shorter top tube against the same size R5? Not sure since I haven't looked. I'm not stating it would be better but using a non-setback with possibly a slightly longer stem to put you just a hair forward might yield a surprising result depending on how you would fit on that R5. The reach will also incorporate your saddle length, the bar used, and shifter position etc which all add to the equation as I'm sure you are well aware of. Too many variables.... BTW one thing I do not have is wisdom LOLOLOL I'm a hack flying by the seat of my pants!

I think I better stay with the endurance geometry like my current bike (Pinarello Paris), which the C68 Allroad has. The reach and stack numbers are very similar to what I’m used to. Thanks Devon! Once you get above 20mph, S3 is a beast and hard to take over. I will take the Soloist on a 135 mile ride day where I have to navigate mixed terrain of mountains and flats.

Hi Jorge. I definitely move my measurements from bike to bike. I know my digits well and also not all that picky in terms of fit like some. I am one who doesn't panic over 1/8" being off. Thanks for your time watching sir!

I’m currently on a Trek Domane and planning to upgrade to Cervelo. Most of my riding consists of moderately fast group rides in very flat SW Florida. I’m 61 years old and probably 10-12 lbs overweight. How would you rate the geometry? I’m worried the ft end will be too low for my fitness and age. I appreciate to opinions!
Hi Robert! I hope I will be moderately fast when I turn 61!!! Good on you! Soloist has a shorter head tube compared to your Domane when compared equal sizing thus putting you more tucked in and more weight distributed towards the front. That said, I never felt uncomfortable myself, rather I really love the fit myself. Your mileage may vary since that Domane will definitely lean towards comfort over "let's go whoop ass".
Any CZcams that starts with a guitar riff has got my attention for 40 mins. I’ve ordered the frame. Would have preferred not to know about Kogel bearings because now I want them too. 😂🎉

Funny you ask Orca or Soloist. I would take either one of them in a heartbeat. If there's gravel though even a bit, perhaps I would lean Orca. If you spend a few extra dollar, a Factor Ostro VAM is also an exceptionally good option for road, climb, and some gravel section. All 3 bikes are very well made "all-arounders".

Great review. How does the bike compare to the S3? I currently ride the S3 and wondering if it’s worth replacing it with the soloist.
AHHHH the S3... it's like a young girlfriend from my past. I loved her DEARLY! So to compare, I know this is gonna sound almost obvious with a big "DOH!" coming... I reckon the Soloist does feel noticeably lighter when the road tilts up. But on a flat road motoring at 25mph plus, the S3 would fare better. Now do keep in mind just to be transparent, my Soloist shown is running 36-50mm wheels whereas my S3 was running non carbon 60mm wheels, therefore not exactly an even comparison. On a long day out mixed terrain, I would take the Soloist out for sure. I also give the Soloist a slight edge to compliance. S3 was not bad in terms of comfort but in comparison, it would be on the other side.

@@nelsdale1137 Hi Nels. I spec'd mine and also practice what I advise - as in I would equip do-everything wheels for this frame since that's what it's designed for. I would go 44mm-50mm variant all day everyday. I did swap to 36mm for a day I had to take a huge mountain down but 99% of the time, I would roll on 44-50 anything in between.

LOL I now do have a bike on sale. It is on sale not because it's shitty but to make room in garage as I can't keep every bike I acquire. It was listed for sale based on the order of acquisition not based on being worse than others.

DC: As a fellow Korean cycling, I’m blessed(?) with long torso and short legs. Based on your cockpit dimensions it sounded like you could’ve gone with a 54. What swayed you to the 51 vs. 54? (Mind if I ask your proportions?)
Hi there. Back when I put this bike together, I did use 40cm/10cm cockpit (only because that was the bar I had with me) but since, I have moved onto 38cm/10cm. My Ribble runs 36cm/10cm even... Anyhow, based on my height every fitter tries to put me on 54cm or medium. I always size down for a variety of reasons which I plan to make a video going over why. Too long to write here for sure lol... ㄸㅋㄸㅋ~~~^^

LOL you see... that's the very reason why I run multiple bikes because I don't want me being forced to make that decision HAHAHAHA. Fully understanding that makes me sound like a total ass, I hope you find humor in my reply. If I would have to take one bike and one bike only, common sense would dictate an all-arounder, right? My Factor is a good choice. My Orca is stupid awesome at its price point. Never look past a TCR which is a great bike many turn their noses at. The Soloist at its price point plus its sharp handing, great looks (minus that hideous post), that could also be an excellent choice. Out of my catalog of bikes, I would probably take the soloist if I have to make that decision today right now late November in 22.

By the way I still curious regarding the comparison Soloist vs Ostro VAM.
According to your review, Soloist is cheaper, eassier on the wallet, beside Ostro is Pro Level Frameset, thats the point that you stressed for this issue, CMIIW.
Fortunately now I'm in the middle of looking the new All Rounder frameset of great bike with priceless, eassier on the wallet, which is pursed to Cervelo Soloist 2023 or Factor Ostro VAM 2022.
Fortunately also, currently in my place, the Ostro VAM frameset 2022 are On Sale with just $2700 (incl. Integrated Handle Bar and BB Ceramic Speed).
The Soloist frameset also On Sale but price still $2460 (Stem, Handle Bar and BB not included).
At this case, finally the Soloist will be pricey compare to Ostro VAM.
So, based on this conditions, according to your experiances of riding those bikes, which one you can recommended to me.

The lil' riff in the beginning was done through am amp sim, not an actual amp to have cleaner signal to the recording interface.

Why is the bike so cheap? Even looking at frames, in the US it’s $2,700 for the Soloist and $5,500 for the R5 and S5. I hear they don’t use different grades of carbon so what gives? I want to order one soon appreciate any help
Anyone around here know if the bottom bracket needs to be the asymmetric type? It looks like either T47 'inboard' or T47 'outboard' are a bit more common. Im only seeing T47 asymmetric from ceramicspeed and kogel. I'm thinking about taking the plunge on this frame but bb availability is important to me because of how i treat my bikes. ty
Asymmetric. A bit expensive one may argue, but this was a recommendation but every damn penny worth it.
aha, for anyone else finding this.. wheelsmfg makes a T47A as well and specifically claim "Cervelo T47a 79mm shell width" compatibility.
Check out BBInfinite's. One of their T47 modules actually fits two BB standards: T47I and T47A. This is due to the drive-side cup being a sleeve that slides over the one-piece module, which threads from the non-drive side.
Gun to head, Soloist or your Prince? (Follow up: would you choose one or the other for different types of rides, eg Prince for club rides or soloist for gran fondos, etc?)
Hi Jordan. I've done plenty of 100+ mile rides on both. No issues either or. If a gun is to my head and I'm in a desert island, the bike I'm taking is the Soloist. That's out of my current stable including Factor Ostro, Prince, and Ultra SLR.
